I run a pretty unsuccessful one.. they took away priest draw awhile back and now after gutting all of their "steal" , rez and only great board clear.. priests are left with a few decent minions and some mediocre spells and not enough draw to make a solid C'thun deck.
I've been having pretty reasonable success with my priest deck but I have yet to climb to legend yet. I'm currently Rank 4 Diamond but my wins and losses seem to happen in streaks. I had a 6 win streak, then a 4 loss streak then another 5 win streak. To be fair, some of my losses were absolutely winnable, I simply had to make a game winning choice and just chose wrong. Others though I just had no chance at all. The poison rogue deck is almost impossible for me to win against because I haven't teched in ooze and I while I probably should, I just don't run in to many and there's just no little wiggle room in my deck.
Even so, I'm currently sitting comfortably at 73% winrate and I'm hoping to continue the momentum to legend. Even if I can't keep it up quite that high, 60%+ is definitely a lofty goal to try for and I'm confident I can manage that. The most popular decks, Lunacy mage and Pen Flinger Paladin I'm definitely favored against. In fact, with the exception of poison rogue, I seem to be favored in most matchups. I've even managed a pretty reliable strategy vs Tickatus, though it's probably my next worst matchup after rogue.
I personally like where priest is right now. I admit, it's not what I envisioned when I was theorycrafting decks prior to the rotation but I suspect there will be some nerfs on the horizon for other classes that'll open the doors for more priest potential. Until then, I'll continue doing my thing and hope I can manage my way to legend.
I don't think there's any viable priest decks really - the lack of card draw and no real synergy between cards is just too big a drawback for the class to overcome. On top of that the only viable archetype has pretty much always been control, and warlock puts an end to that these days.
The best I've played is a "Rally" based pen flinger deck with Sethekk Veilweaver and Nazmani Bloodweaver. It relies on drawing the Sethekk and having it die without getting devolving missiled. Even then, you're at the whim of the RNG gods in terms of what you generate. I'm sure there's skill involved with the deck somewhere, but it feels shit to play if you don't get the handfull of cards you need to get the ball rolling, and no doubt the opponent feels like you outskilled them when you generate the answers you need from thin air...
Things I don't understand about the class design (if you can call it that):
1) why is shadowform so much worse than the mage equivalent? You give up a lot of the synergy with the class - it should at least be the same as it used to be (i.e. 3 damage on the second cast)
2) What the actual fuck is the point of Shadowed Spirit ? I'm sure there's some meme res/duplicate/rally deck in there somewhere, but holly fuck its a terrible card at the moment given the other tools priest current has.
If Blizz can't come up with enough ideas of viable cards for each class, they shouldn't have introduced a new class.
edit: I should add - even if there was synergy between cards, it counts for shit if you can't draw them together reliably (which you can't with no card draw)
- Blizzard and Iksar hyping Shadow Priest for like 2 months for them to print a better Shadowform for Mage.
- Every class got a win condition or something cool this expansion. What did Priest get ? same old removal and healing for 6th expansion in a row. Ever since RoS, 2 years ago, Priest has only lost win conditions and didn't get a single one in return.
- The last time Blizzard intentionally printed a win-con for Priest was in KFT with Anduin.
Win conditions of priest always were broken and bad designed leading many players out of the game. let's be honest, many toxic spells with braindead conditions that always screwed the opponent. DK Priest. Many stupid conditions like turn life into damage out of nowhere, kill u with damage in life out of nowhere, cheating mana and patience of other players with braindead ress games and so on...so yeah, if possible they could turn priest into another pally aggro or something like that and finito, problem solved. Nevermore Toxic Control priests with spells that clear u board several turns in a row untill it's ultimate bullshit win condition. The logic? it's simple not funny to face annoying games and decks for weeks even months.
they still have stupid ass Hysteria at 3 mana. either that dumb shit needs to be 4 mana or the coding needs to be changed so it doesnt kill opponents entire board before touching yours once. until that card is either nerfed or code changed ill gladly let priest be a garbage class. especially since they reprinted shadow visions so they can have it 4 times minimum if they dont get it from palm reading or the 1 mana heal/discover spell. there really isnt any good way to play around it. play wide and it wipes your board, play a few strong minions and they kill eachother, play no minions and just let them do whatever they want. at least other big aoe removals you can play around, especially since they dont fit so easily into a curve, before palm reading discount even. Warlock is dumb too because of it. just too much damn removal which is why everyone in standard plays spell mage or secret paladin because they have the best chance of killing those endless removal decks quickly. this expansion added a lot of good midrange minions, but priest/warlock just have so much removal that they dont really get a chance against them and aggro decks are too fast.
I used to be a priest main from GvG to SoU expansions, now i want basically nothing to do with the class unless its just a fun minion based deck after i hit legend.

You deserve a medal sir, for all your services to community into bring a good point from a real priest player and also rarely on this site, a good one. You said it all.
Will try something like this, the new taunt elemental is pretty pog. Its either this or some sort of miracle cthun list, take your pick.
Corrupt priest is very good i was using it with zero cards from year of the dragon before the rotation to see if it could last and it turned out to be great. There's always some matchups that are unfavorable and if they are curving perfectly then it can be over pretty quick.

LMAO i can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not but either way, these are some of the dumbest comments ive seen in a while. This is what i call "Priest Derangement Syndrome", or PDS for short.
I mean for me its amazing because people can maintain their sanity and never have to face this dumb class. Dealing with Mage and Priest bs was getting tiresome and I really like this break from priest.
It wont be long before they get some stupid cards and you sorry priest clowns can rejoice. Like honestly, people enjoy playing priest???
I hope they are transitioning priest away from steal and res all the time. Under that identity, it has been the least fun class to play and to play against. They need to bring back a healing, control identity, and I hope this expansion is the start of that.
It may be natural to have a rough stretch during that transition.

I know right? I can't believe people have the audacity to play something they enjoy in a card game! Blows my mind
Small sample size, but I'm 4-1 in 2000 legend with the aggressive list in my signature. Have only run into one mage and zero paladins, so it's probably warped, but feels like it's only a couple of decent tempo/draw options away from being decent. Key is to utilize 1/2/3 cost minions that are good (or good enough, in the case of Mankrik and Frazzled Freshman) off Rally. Dragonmaw Overseer can create some really difficult boards to handle.

Not sure if you realise, but they didn't re-print Shadow visions. The new card discovers a spell, not a copy of it, so you can't get more than two through this route.
Yes you can still discover and generate stuff through the usual means, but not with this card.

Google search: Is Hearthstone free to play?
And priest is my fav char though
Right now im trying some big priest deck from darkmoon cards mostly, its fun but it's slow as dauym
And worst match ups are vs rogues, i feel like they are playing with me.

Corrupt and Control priest are both good. Dragon mid-range Priest is good. I think Miracle Priest was number 1 legend at one point.
Kinda gave up on Tempo Priest because it gets owned so hard by Paladin, Mage and Shaman.
i think control priest is ok-ish it just seems good coz it fucks up the tard mage deck which is everywhere
