I'd love to see discover phased out, but if it's going to stay, they should at least do some of the following:
1. Always make it "discover a card that didn't start in your deck" or "discover a card from a different class"
2. Remove legendaries from the discover pool. Then the 1-only aspect that makes legendaries unique can remain intact.
3. Actually put a reasonable stat cost on discover minions. A 2-drop with discover should be a 1/1 not a 2/3. A 3-drop with discover and mana discount should be a 1/3 or 2/2, not a 2/4. A 5-drop that discovers two spells probably shouldn't be a 4/4.
I would love to see discover disappear completely as that would improve the game. But I'd be content with (1) more "discover a card that didn't start in your deck" and/or (2) a reasonable mana cost to discover. A 2-drop with discover should be statted like a 1-drop.
As others have pointed out, it’s the discover. I’d love to see that mechanic retired since it is often problematic. But it would be enough to just change some discover cards to “discover a card that did not start in your deck”.
Alternatively, the could just try to price discover more appropriately. A two drop with discover should be a 1/1. Make people suffer a tempo loss in exchange for the ability to get another Patchwerk. Make people consider trade offs in deck building.
I am impressed - I have been trying to find something that works with Tony since Day 1, but usually he either dies and is wasted, or I can't survive long enough to get him to do something useful.
I will have a proper watch of your replays and see what you've been doing with him.
I don't have many others. I usually play on my iPad, so I don't have hsreplay replays to share.
Like I said, though, I tried DH and couldn't survive long enough, but I think something should work here because of DH's draw, removal, and healing. With Druid, I can sometimes survive off armor. I tried Rogue, and that has worked a few times because Rogue has a lot of draw. But I don't think this approach is going to help you climb the ladder. I just wanted to use Tony since I drew him on day 1.
Uh, yeah, it's way better to discover cards that are in your deck. That's why it's problematic. There was a time, a long time ago, when you knew your opponent only had two copies of each card. It allowed for more strategic gameplay.
Clearly, mine is an unpopular opinion, but discover has not been good for this game. I'd love to see it replace with just "add a random spell to your hand" or "discover a card that didn't start in your deck", but I'd even be happy if legendaries were removed from discover pools.
"Discover a copy" is the worst form of discover, and discover itself is one of the worst mechanics in the game ("discover something that didn't start in your deck" is the best version of discover).
This game has two levels of simple strategy: deck building before play and anticipating moves during play. Discover makes the latter of these almost nonexistent.
I think the game would be better without discover. Just make this "add a random legendary to your hand". If you need discover, make all disover cards discover something that did not start in your hand. Then the strategy of anticipating what you opponent has can return.

It makes both arena and constructed worse.

Nice, I tried DH because they have so much draw, but I couldn't get it going. This Druid deck has been better but nothing near 48%.

I've won a handful of games with Tony today. Here's the play, it's fun when it works:

I've had the problem since the latest patch. It crashes randomly while deckbuilding, never at any other times.

Agree with everything except the idea that parrot is unreliable. The amazing consistency of that big spell is the entire reason BSM works.

I’m 1-0 with the new horsemen! Scythe deck with the card that draws them and pits them against each other!

Rogue got two really good arena cards in this mini set.

Wow, Druid has this card for four mana. Two mana is a steal.
