This is Hearthstone, not Yu-GI-Oh! so... We gotta play these kind of cards to know the actual rules behind them. That's a trade-off of less detailed card texts.
Still, I would probably rather have one of each card anyway. Not only you then can play when you actually need it (assuming it's on your hand) but also confuse your opponents. Game is more and more filled with quality cards making it rather possible to be effective. In fact, legendary deck ahoy!
If course then some casual "new player" accidentally fills your hand with junk to prevent you from using it.
Anyone else think this card is completely broken? Wait, so no matter how well someone does against me, I just plop this down on turn 8, bounce it back into my hand with Youthful Brewmaster, and I am unbeatable unless you can do over 30 points of damage in a turn. And heaven help you if your playing with Druid who has a Tree of Life. This just seems wrong.
This could work in casino mage. Add a Torch for a fireball, a 3 mana polymorph, remove a flamewaker, change up a few of the midgame cards, one mana wyrm. Still have enough spells to activate Antonidas.
I can see this working nicely in a mage secret deck. You get your mad scientists to cycle the 2nd ice block/ice barrier, leaving one copy in deck, and then get awesome fatigue survivability. Duplicate gives your one copy cards that are important, extra copies.
And again, like someone mentioned you can bounce Reno back, or echo of medivh him, or Duplicate him!
If this card doesn´t show (change the rim color or something) when the condition to play it is met, it´s a terribly designed card, bacause you need a deck tracker to use it efficiently.
If it does show when it can be played for the full heal, i´ll like it.
Sadly, it seems like my worries were correct. From the Blizzcon Q&A with the developpers:
"There isn't a plan to have any kind of UI hint to show that you still have second copies of cards in your deck. They'll talk about it though."
They´ll talk about it though.... sigh. What a bunch of morons. Don´t they realise that if Reno ever becomes a thing, players playing on pc with a deck tracker have a huge advantage. I repeat, morons!
Thats not an advantage, since you can just use pen and paper or simply keep in mind the copys. If you play reno you wont play many copys anyways so i realy dont see your point.
This card can be useful when you are in fatigue or with, idk, 1? 2? 3? 5? cards in your deck and you know what they are. In other words, this card will be good for mill druid:
I made a Combogue Jackson deck, a minion based Rogue deck that has a variety of minions and spells. With the help of Reno Jackson to secure you're win when you're about to die.
If I have 2 Sludge Belchers in my deck, play one, and then play Reno, will it trigger?
If Sludge Belchers are the only double cards in your deck, then yes.
Yeah sweet, that's what I thought. All these decks with only one-ofs seem to assume that you want to play him as soon as you draw him. Very rarely do I top deck Healbot turn 5 and instantly play it. Reno will probably find a spot in my CW lists (standard control and fatigue variants) because most of the double ups are early game, and I can keep tabs on it. Will help the mirror match (esp after Alex).
i recommend not including the auchenai if you plan to use reno jackson, is hard to have them both in play, but if i happens you arent going to be able to play reno
I've always liked Highlander decks
THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE
Say "Wow" for RNG!

Unbeatable Druid Mill deck anyone?

Could be good in control / fatigue warrior. Or maybe we will see highlander hearthstone. Lol
I think you don't builda deck of 1 ofs around him, but use him in decks with a lot of draw who go to fatigue a lot.
