First day of the season too. I want to rank up quickly. When I hit rank 5 I'll switch to something slower.

Why is the hunter legendary so control, but the quest is so aggro oriented?

What Hunter deck would the legendary be good in?

It's not control, it provides the tools to close out games after you've run out of steam.

Fire Fly gives you another 1 Mana minion to play... it will almost be essential for the quest.

Interesting why cards like Polymorph and Hex are costs less than Assassinate...

It has to do with class identity and playstyle. Hex and Polymorph both have spent time out of the meta, even when their classes were prominent, Polymorph especially. Miracle is a tight deck as it is, but if they had a 3 cost assassinate, it could be played for free on Gadgetzan turn with prep, which is an insane tempo swing for a deck that already generates a ton of tempo. Yes, it is overcosted, but it needs to be to stop rogues running two in each deck and being near unbeatable.

The 10 MSoG card limit means that we'll probably see more diversity in the Reno lineups, as well as eliminating Freeze Mage, Miracle Rogue, Miracle Druid, certain Dragon Priest lists, and Midrange Shaman.

There are a bunch of decks that counter Pirate Warrior, but they are *really* bad matchups against anything Jade, so tech appropriately.

posted a message on Pack opening: Expectation VS Reality
    Quote from Aneng >>

Packs 80-90 (preorder plus around 3.5k gold, plus I'm going to wait until then to open my Rank 5 chest).

    Wishlist:

Legendary: Kazakus, Don Hancho, Aya Blackpaw, Wrathion, Raza the Chained, Inkmaster Solia, Whiteyes, Genzo the Shark

Epic: Dragonfire Potion, Defias Cleaner, Small Time Recruits, Rat Pack, Mana Geode, Dirty Rat, Weasel Tunneler

Considering my past few xpac launches has convinced me that the pity timer doesn't exist I'm hoping for it to statistically even out now.

     Reality:
Genzo was the only Legendary that I wanted, however I am glad I got Finja, Beardo, and Knuckles as they are cards that I want to try, but wouldn't have crafted anyway. Have already crafted Patches, will probably craft Kazakus, Raza, and Aya soon.
Epic: Missing 1x Small Time Recruits, 1x Defias Cleaner, and Mana Geode. Happy with my other pulls.

posted a message on How good is Finja?

I've chucked him in Anyfin Paladin and have really liked the change. It makes the deck slightly less OTK, but the thinning + drawing your murlocs earlier means that you generally have all of them dead by 10 when you want to play Anyfin.

It's the Diablo one we saw (check older Front Page articles). Looks tavern brawl related.

posted a message on Beating Jade Druid

Play fast decks. And before everyone goes "great now it's just aggro cancer meta", this is exactly the way a meta should work. Jade gets smoked by fast decks, but wins against anything slower than it. If everyone starts playing aggro, people turn to control/Reno to counter it, which then brings about Jade again to counter those. By being so polarising, Jade decks *should* help keep the rock/paper/scissors of the meta rolling.

posted a message on SIAP - Season Rewards Question

I'm going to wait on the off chance it does... the time between season reset and expansion launch isn't enough for me to make any considerable leap on ladder, and afterwards I'll be playing janky decks anyway so I'll take the chance.

posted a message on Release time?

I think it changes each time. I don't expect it to be out tomorrow night (Sydney time), but sometime before we get up in the morning on Friday. I'm holding off playing HS until then to hopefully double up on Season Rewards giving MSoG cards. Not sure whether it will work or not, but there are a bunch of new epics I'd love to get hold of golden.

Game Designer Dean "Iksar" Ayala: "Also because when I playtest things I have multiple accounts and I tend to be playing multiple games at once. With the Patches deck with Gang Up and holding back a bunch of cards and waiting to combo. That deck is so hard to play! It is maybe the single hardest deck to play that I've playtested in the last year."

    They playtest the game.

Read again, man. Key word is "proper".
Only read the title, eh? :)
Sorry, I took your bait title. If you wanted serious discussion you wouldn't hide it behind a title which doesn't argue what you actually believe.
