In the past two expansions there has only been one actually "good" card printed for Hunter, crackling razormaw--which is a good card because it is effective early and late game, but it's still not insanely good like dk anduin or ultimate infestation or any other awesome class card other classes have gotten. Bearshark and dk rexxar are playable, but only because the rest of Hunter's options are so terrible.
So many Hunter cards have been nerfed into being unplayable. Call of the wild is unplayable. Hunters Mark is unplayable. Flare is unplayable. Starving buzzard is unplayable -- and that card is so necessary for Hunter to function. At the least it should be 4 Mana; a 5 Mana 3/2 is just awful on every level and doesn't leave you with any Mana to summon more beasts.
It's frustrating to see priest, hunters worst enemy, get an amazing new aoe when Hunter still doesn't have any.
Hunter is the least visited forum on hearthpwn, why? Because the class is garbage. Is anyone actually a fan of Druid? Do people really identify themselves as druid players? Druid is like Hunter only with less personality, but everyone plays them because they want to win and they have the most broken cards.
When is the last time Hunter had a tier one deck, years? And yet expansion after expansion Hunter gets the shaft and we are stuck with "fun" cards. Well getting smashed in the face with overpowered nonsense while you're trying to get value out of professor putricide isn't that much fun.
So please stop crying about hunter. There's plenty of cool decks out there, from midrange hunter to quest hunter, to deathrattle hunter and they all are viable to some extent. Hunter used to be the most hated class out there because of all the bullshit face shenanigans. Let's let it have a break from that for a bit...
I think it's largely because even a slight power creep can quickly make Hunter OP due to the strength of the basic set and hero power. I'd really like them to push Hunter further away from Smorc, with more decent control tools. If you consider that it's not that difficult for a F2P midrange deck to reach Legend, Blizzard needs to be careful not to push too many cheap early game cards like Crackling Razormaw and Bearshark.
Maybe Call of the wild can be considered a buff. Hunter normaly runs only 4 spells in deck atm Killcommand, animal companion. Will you cutt it for 2x cotw and a 6 mana 4/4 that summons a random 9 drop...might be worth it.
Heyy guys remeber that time when Blizzard nerfed Call of the Wild not because it was a problem, but because it mighttt maybe someday if... Good f..... job Blizz

The cards you suggested are actually pretty awful. Alley cat is objectively worse then just about every other class 1 drop. It gets killed by hero power with ease and its a dead card on turn 5+. It's comparable to the druid raven which barely sees play because of how meh it is.
Dispatch kodo is bad card, its comparable to the c'thun 3 drop which is arguably better due to its cheaper cost and extra effect. You almost never get a chance to buff your hand and make it a playable card.
Rat pack is far to slow for anything hunter wants to do, on top of that summoning a bunch of 1/1's that get punished by even other hunters is actually not that great. It's not like hunters have any reliable ways to make those 1/1's actually threatening in most cases. On top of that priest can hard counter it and steal it with ease making it even worse. It's meh for the same reason that the 1/1 deathrattle summon a 5/5 is meh.
Stitched again is to slow in hunter decks, you give up your turn 3 to draw a card, but often you won't even find an opportunity to play it because your curve is to tight. It only works to fish out combo pieces, but hunters don't have any reliable way of using it yet so its pretty meh as well.
Jeweled mackaw is bad, 50% of the time your drawing a complete trash beast, there are far more awful draws then good ones. Its not surprising when you play it and you get a beast that literally sits in your hand because its better to hero power instead of play it.
Kindly grandma has the same problem as rat pack, easy to punish and takes to long to make use of it.
Bearshark is a meh card at best, sure it fucks priest\druids up but most classes can easily handle it. Any weapon, aggro or battle cry based deck will easily dispatch it.
DeathStalker in most cases doesn't matter or hurts your win rate. Again because the beast pool is so awful, its not rare to get bad combinations, or for you to not get the combination you need (getting rats and vanilla when you need poision or taunts). Most cases your default hero power would win the game before the deathstalker one will.
Not even going to mention the other ones you mentioned as they are complete joke cards that are run for fun. You aren't going to have a positive win rate with marsh queen.
What hunter need to make a control deck playable is a cheap and broken card changing your hero power, like 2 manas turn your hero power into "cause 2 damage in any target and heal your hero 2 life if you control a beast" or something like that.
Value minions alone can't work if hero power only works for agression, don't have good removals and healing, any card for control hunter, DK include, without this don't see much play.
Heyy guys remeber that time when Blizzard nerfed Call of the Wild not because it was a problem, but because it mighttt maybe someday if... Good f..... job Blizz
call of the wild was stronger than doctor boom and midrange hunter was tier 1
Undertaker and regular face hunter dominated so soundly that Blizzard has been extremely wary of giving hunter any power beyond that of tier 3. It's a hard design space to work in when most obvious options to allow control hunter or slower midrange hunters would usually work just as well in face hunter to contest board, and that could bring back a very unwanted wave of hunter to the ladder, all winning matches between 4-6 turns in.

Hunter have hero power that is not so agressive after switching to DK hero... You can create beast which you need right in that moment
because of thedumb hero power, as soon as hunter gets something good everyone is creating a smorc facerace deck because the hero power encourages it way too much, as long as they don't rework that hero power they won't get stronger cards, yet Play dead and all the deathrattle sinergy card including the new ooze and the new legendary are actually pretty powerful because "recruit" is the most powerful emchanic you can have in a game and she does it twice..you guys complaining about hunters are doing the same you did the rogue quest, misjudging cards and talking shit out of your ass without previous experience in any other card game and not listening to players that actually used to frequent nationals and told you that the rogue quest was good (pre-nerf) and that are telling you now that recruit is as previously mentioned, the best mechanic on any card game.
Hunter's my favorite class because of all of the really interesting/bad cards they have like Explorer's Hat, Dinomancy, Lock and Load, Desert Camel, and Stampedeand I agree with you a lot. Hunter also has the most fun/unique DK and a really interesting and underused quest. I think hunter's in a great spot right now and exactly what a HS class should be like. They need to nerf overplayed things like priest, druid, and quest mage, rather than buff weaker things, it'd bring a lot more variety to the game. If blizz gave hunter like 3 OP cards in the new set and a hunter deck became tier 1, it wouldn't make the class better, it would just create another herp derp tier 1 easy win deck, which the game does not need, and any hunter deck that didn't include the 3 cards would be unplayable.
I told people ever since Old gods that hunter was/is the worst class there has ever been in HS. people didn't think hunter was that bad in Old gods because call of the wild was decent. I said that that card was the sole thing keeping hunter out of the lowest tier and that any hunter deck would be good as long as it was designed to curve into call of the wild, and complete trash if you didn't include the card or didn't build your entire strategy around the card. I did make 1 pretty decent control hunter deck recently that I win a lot with (and is getting a huge buff in the new expac prolly).
The developers have mentioned multiple times that hunter is the highest winrate class in the low ranks of the ladder (25-15), where most of the playerbase is at. It makes sense that they don't want it to be something a new player faces all the time, considering how many people dislike playing against hunter. I guess newbies have trouble with how even very cheap hunter decks can be super efficient at going face and they don't know how to answer it well.
Of course, as a hunter fan, I wish we'd get some better cards so it can be viable at higher ranks. We desperately need a replacement for quickshot, a card that fetches secrets and some more cards to regain tempo, not more slow deathrattle beasts. What we also DO NOT need is more cards that change the hero power and lose you a ton of tempo and card advantage. Seriously, it's a great hero power for the style of decks that hunter has. If we had the mage hero power we would gain the ability to ping minions in the mid-game (when you don't really want to hero power) but we would lose the much more important ability to close out games even with no cards in hand.
Control hunter is just a distant dream that I don't think they need to pursue. A ton of control cards would have to be added for it to even have a slight chance to be viable (AoE, healing, better single-target removal etc.). At that point I'd rather they focus on different flavors and unique mechanics of tempo/midrange like secrets, beasts, more weapons with interesting effects (weapon with spell damage maybe), more conditional draw like tracking/tol'vir warden, good cards with immune effects, etc.
Because Undertaker Hunter happened. Hunter has been the aggro class for so long Blizz forgot what to do with the class. They have no clue how to design it, what other play style it should have. They though a bunch of low stated deathrattle minions will make the class viable against the over-the-top-OP cards in the game right now. Didn't work out. So they gave us Deathstalker Rexxar. Excellent card that is single handedly carrying the class right now. Now they seem to be focused on a control Hunter. Now I am not saying it will work, but is good to see they are FINALLY trying something else then freaking face face face. The nerf to COTW was one of the worst Blizz decisions, it made a Tier 2 deck to unplayable.
This is what happens when you don't give a class card draw, heal, taunt, board control, single target removel, aoe removal, comeback mechanic. It took Blizz 4? expansions to give Hunters a f****** discover card, even though Hunter is the real discover class with Tracking. No lifesteal mechanic to speak off in any form. Shitty legendaries. No real way to deal one damage to minions.
How to f*** do you expect the class to stay relevant?
So, every new Hunter card is garbage.
In the past two expansions there has only been one actually "good" card printed for Hunter, crackling razormaw--which is a good card because it is effective early and late game, but it's still not insanely good like dk anduin or ultimate infestation or any other awesome class card other classes have gotten. Who Cares?
Can you guys be patient for once and just wait for all of the cards to be released before saying everything is doom & gloom for class X, Y, & Z?
So Alleycat, Dispatch Kodo, Rat Pack, Stitched Tracker, Jeweled Macaw, Kindly Grandmother and Golakka Crawler (neutral but still a good hunter card) are all terrible cards? You're wrong about Bearshark and Deathstalker Rexxar as well. They are both amazing cards. DK Rexxar is one of the best and most versatile DKs out there, only rivaled by perhaps Anduin and Gul'Dan. Even Corpse Widow, Play Dead, The Marsh Queen, and Tol'vir Warden are strong in specific decks.
So please stop crying about hunter. There's plenty of cool decks out there, from midrange hunter to quest hunter, to deathrattle hunter and they all are viable to some extent. Hunter used to be the most hated class out there because of all the bullshit face shenanigans. Let's let it have a break from that for a bit...
so it begins... "Why does Blizzard hate [Insert a class name] so much?" posts are finally here...
1.) they don't, they're worried because of past mistakes like huntertaker and hybrid hunter.
2.) even as a hunter player I admit that a lot of hunter decks are unfun to play against.
3.) who cares? just play a different class. hearthstone isn't like other games where you're supposed to get better at one hero and main it.
