I wanna have a mess about with some shaman murloc stuff. I don't have loads of shaman cards though so I'm gonna have to craft some stuff.
A card I like the look of is Thunderhead, but it's an epic so not cheap.
it has been out for a while though, so do you guys think it's a worthwhile pick if I wanna play some overload style decks?
It's either between these, getting force of nature for druid, or getting darkest hour for warlock (the darkest hour deck someone uploaded that pulls out mally and chargers and stuff looks great on paper, but I don't know enough about actual viability yet to commit to this idea) or thunderhead for shaman.
I guess the force of nature cards are evergreen so probably the best choice, but thunderhead looks so cool.
Personally I like Thunderhead but then again I'm biased since he's in some of my favourite decks.
It's a hard call honestly, since nothing looks like a great long term investment :/

The point is that Murloc Shaman doesn't really need much more token generation tools. It's already the fastest deck at that atm, without Thunderhead.
Thunderhead is just too slow for Aggro/Token, and it needs synergy in order to be decent. You want to use him in Tempo-Midrange, but at that point it is debatable whether Shaman can currently perform well with such a setup in Standard.
So maybe it's ok, but I wouldn't call it "safe".
Personally, I tried it as a tech card in Wild Even Shaman, but rapidly went back to more classical builds.
I suggest you to save your dust. Especially if you don't sit on a few k's and most of the cards already. Both of those cards are not essential for the decks you may want to play.
You can play Murloc shaman without Thunderhead, if you want to play aggro shaman deck. You can also play Token druid without Force of nature, if you want to play aggro druid deck.
I don't know about this warlock deck with darkest hour you are talking about, but sounds like a meme one (no offence to the players playing it or it's deck creator).
So, basically, if your point is to fool around and have fun - then by all means, craft whatever you feel like. But if you want to be efficient with your dust - then try to only craft what is essential to a specific deck and if you like the deck that much - then go all-in on the crafting and like Rdu, make everything shinier :).

this is the deck I have been looking at, currently the highest winrate of any shaman
if you think this card is surplus to requirements though, I could try playing it with a couple of nightmare amalgam or something in it's place (as I have those already) I only wish I had hagatha, as she seems like a good card to include in most things.
It does look like it's worst match up's are the most prevalent decks right now though, so not sure if it's right to be building it. (the win rates aren't terrible though even against the weaker match up's. I think it's at around 3rd place in tier 2 currently, but those decks are like 0.1 points apart from each other anyway, mostly)
In any deck with a significant number of overload cards, Thunderhead is great. But I don't know if there are enough good overload cards. I felt that before the rotation there weren't, but the bar is lower now, so maybe.
You need Force of Nature only if you want to play a Treant synergy deck; Token Druid can be built without it and might even be stronger without it. I'm using Explodinator to put 3 minions on the board, for example.

Thanks, I will take this into account.
And yes, at this point I am looking more for what is essential in a build. this particular version of murloc shaman is built around taking advantage of overload as well, so I wasn't sure if this particular build needed thunderhead or not.
Just want to be sure before I craft other cards for a specific version of a deck.
It looks nice on paper, but I wouldn't trust too much HSR winrates, in particular not so early.
Indeed, the best thing you can do is trying the deck without Thunderhead, if that's the only minion you miss. In that case, you're gonna get a good preview of the performances anyway.

I'm currently playing a token druid deck that uses the new portal spell, so I have very few actual minions in my current version.
I was wanting to build a second version, maybe without the portals that was more based around treants and actual minions that have battlecries that give me more stuff. (so like microbot controller and the new dude that gives you scrolls, I forget his name) I've already built a couple of versions of these decks in theory.
I'm just trying to decide whether to invest more in druid stuff to play more variations of the deck, or to instead get some cards for a different deck. (I already have enough to play all the current rogue decks as well, so it's not like I'm hurting for things to play).
I main rogue at the minute and I'm mainly just looking for some new stuff to mess around with. Druid and Shaman are 2 of my least played classes, and they both have cool and colourful looking new cards that I can afford to dabble in.
I was thinking about building the carpet warlock deck, but I have played more warlock than anything, and only recently switched to a rogue main in the lead up to Boomsday. I don't think carpet rogue has enough new to make me care about it that much. I mean I'm sure the playstyle has changed, but it uses so many cards I've used before is what I mean.
The attraction of token druid and murloc shaman is new cards and classes I've barely touched.
I just need to find a good murloc shaman build, was just looking at the stats and the overload version was cheaper and had a better winrate.
I wouldn't think too much about HSR raw data output as it doesn't take into accout your rank or local meta unless you're a premium member. Do you want to play for fun or min-max any chance to win? Then you have to ask yourself how much dust you're willing to spend that early since rotation, especially if you cannot afford to spend large amounts. Personally I play the Murloc/Overload hybrid solely because of the power of Likkim (and partly because I always liked Overload, even though it's been a disadvantage most of the time). Also, the tokens created by Voltaic Burst and Thunderhead synergize very well with Soul of the Murloc. But that's just me and I don't utilize the HSR lists other than a mere basis since I prefer to gather actual game experience and then tweak my decks accordingly.

I have a new job starting soon I think, so will be able to start buying card packs again so I am not too worried about spending dust. the beginning of expacs (especially rotation) is usually my favourite time to play standard anyway.
my main concern is whether I want to invest more into druid now I have some druid cards (would be going into a more treant focussed deck as oppose to full blown token portal. Or whether I want to drop some dust on overload murlocs instead.
I reckon these are the 2 decks I like the look of the most right now, and I already have a fully functioning token druid, so the shaman might be the best bet... I don't know though as stuff like force of nature is evergreen. I might not even need that card though (although it is prevalent in any treant deck I've seen)

You can run any number minions together with Crystalsong Portal, as long as they are not expensive or situational. The Portal is there to refill your hand; there is no need to cast it when you still have minions in your hand that you can play.

Force of Nature is in a weird spot between the more flexible Landscaping and the higher-value The Forest's Aid. If you want to invest any dust into Token Druid, I'd suggest Wispering Woods over Force of Nature.
I have seen thunderhead being used in a multitude of shaman decks. I can not craft it, but I would if I could and I would likely not regret it.
I would say it is probably a safe craft solely based on the number of decks I see it in. but I have no experience playing it
Rejoice, for even in death, you have become children of Thanos.
I already have wisps. it's a key card.
thanks though. I will probs just get those shaman cards so I have another deck to play.
thanks man. I reckon I'm probs gonna go for this overload murloc deck as it does look pretty cool.
