Don't know if I like the body but I do find the effect very interesting. I'd say this will be paladins new toy. They haven't really had the follow up to the "change a minions attack" cards
Did you know that Stampeding Kodo is a card?
Well, Kodo is random and hits 2 attack or lower minions so it's a bit harder to get real value out of. This on the other hand let's you choose and hits 3 attack or lower so it's offer a lot more control and flexibility than Kodo.
This minion is a dragon so must be holding a dragon when you play this...
Battlecry activates after the card is played, and when a card is in play, it's not in your hand, hence, the battlecry won't work.
It was a cute attempt to be witty, but you clearly know nothing john snow.
We already have a Priest card that does exactly the same... ok, now i understand why nobody knew about this mechanic ^^
because dragon priest wasn't enough of an auto pilot deck already
Battlecry: If you're not holding a Dragon in your hand, weep silently and get overrun by Zoo again.
I have a feeling that will now be unlikely due to netherspite historian and this card itself being a dragon.
It's not a problem. They will have to create new dragon synergy cards because classic set is filled with dragons. Besides it rotates in january. My only concern is that dragon decks as we know them will look very different and may be worse depending on the cards they print. This one seems good but maybe shouldnt be 6 mana?
In my experience, most dragon decks are about gaining tempo, so this card could possibly fit as gaining a body and destroying a minion is a pretty decent tempo swing.
Awesome name, great art, but card itself? Meh.
Dragon Priest - IMO this card has no place in dragon Priest once Priest already has Shadow Word: Pain, which is better in most cases for being cheap, therefore counters aggros better, or even Cabal Shadow Priest seems better. Cabal Shadow Priest isn't tagged as a dragon, yet doesn't need any dragons in hand as a condition, has +1 attack / -1 health, usually 4/5 > 3/6, but depends, same cost and, instead of destroying a 3 or less attack minion, it takes control of a minion with 2 or less attack. Also, if you happen to not have a dragon in hand, this is terrible to be played as a vanilla minion, but same happens to all other classes.
Dragon Warrior - Dragon Warrior wants to go to the face, so this also won't fit there. If it's that heavy dragon Warrior control deck (like the one Kibler played while streaming a few days/weeks ago) it already has many removals (2x executes, 2x shield slams, 1/2x brawls), so no need to add more.
Dragon Paladin - Probably the class where Book Wyrm fits better. Unlike Stampeding Kodo, this can have synergy not only with Humility and Aldor Peacekeeper, as it's also useful with Keeper of Uldaman, another card to combo with Book Wyrm. There's still the advantage of being able to choose which one to target, Stampeding Kodo would only be better if it killed a minion with stealth and 2 attack or less.
Dragon Priest- I can see this having some use in Dragon Priest as, while YES Shadow Word: Pain is cheaper, Pain doesn't provide a body. Cabal Shadowpriest does seem like a better choice but the consideration is that the Book Wyrm can deal with something that has 1 more attack than what Shadowpriest can deal with even if it has a condition. Most dragon synergy cards are pretty bad as vanilla, like Twilight Guardian, so the fact that this is bad as vanilla is kinda fitting, though with the release of Netherspite Historian, dragon synergy will be just a bit easier to obtain. So I can see this making it into Dragon Priest as a decent tempo swing and an extra defense against aggro.
Dragon Warrior- I can agree here that it's not too useful in the aggro variant. In the control variant though, it's a body plus extra removal so not necessarily a bad thing.
Dragon Paladin- This will definitely almost always be an auto-include in most dragon Paladins due to the amount of synergy it has.
3/6 is really poor stats for 6 mana. Basically you are playing SWP (2 mana) + 3/6 (4 mana). And at 6th turn you'd rather not play SWP vs aggro, as it hardly does anything. If it had 7 health or taunt, it would be at least decent antiaggro tool, but like this, it is pure value card.
Highly doubt it will see any play as it's too slow and expensive to survive in shaman/warrior meta when at 6th turn you are half as dead.
A 3/6 can usually eat 2 or 3 aggro minions rather easily before dying and you also can take out an extra minion with it's ability alone. Plus, the deck this would fit into will likely keep the number of minions on the board pretty low in the first place.
I made this list, hope it to be useful.
Notable minions with 3 Attack base or less (Premium/High priority targets) in Standard:
Other good targets that see less play, or they are not so common to see (Secondary/Medium priority targets) in Standard:
Priest cards:
Nice priest cards.
See a lot of people compare it to the Stampeding Kodo, but... you get to choose with this one. It doesn't say "random minion".
