This ^ I can somewhat see the epic from the perspective of epic cards, but every time I hear people say that any expansion that printed double legendaries for each class creating a problem for new players not being able to catch I then have to facepalm. Sure, most of the DKs were pretty good, but scores of other legendaries between Un'Goro & K&C were honestly not good cards, or at the very least didn't threaten to change the meta (take almost all of the Un'Goro quests for example).
So yes, more decent epics makes it harder for f2p, but creating twice as many weak legendaries doesn't really affect new players catching up with the game.
and it's only going to get worse for f2p players, especially the new ones! >.<

I agree, I am a F2P player and this expansion was quite difficult to afford in comparison to most others. Maybe when they nerf Corridor Creeper and I get back 800 dust it won't feel QUITE as bad.
I think the real problem isn't so much that there are good epics as much as there are just a LOT of cards I want. So, I think this set just has an embarassment of riches more than anything. Will probably be up there with Naxx when we look back and talk about strong sets.
I can totally not relate to this. F2p here, I opened about 30 packs at launch and about maybe 15 or 20 since then. I can basicly play about 50% of the decks on VS's meta report. Seems pretty good to me...

I feel like it's actually worse for f2p when there are many bad legendaries. When my pity timer goes off once a month, the odds of getting a legendary I can actually use are quite bad. It's just that much harder to draw one of the good legendaries.
So far, I have Ixlid and Temporus in this expansion. Ixlid is occasionally fun, but it's rare.
I run a f2p account along with my "p2w" account (in actuality I just use my leftover WoW gold to fund everything for now) and with the f2p I can maintain a collection of every relevant legendary with enough dust to craft necessary epics and a few fun legendaries such as Yogg and Y'Shaaraj. You're not going to have a full collection as f2p, but if you track your pity timers, be smart about when you craft epics, don't disenchant legendaries that you don't want until you're ready to never open packs that a particular set again, etc., you can have everything you want in Hearthstone within reason. I mean if you're not dishing out the cash.... what do you expect?

A bad legendary is a good epic.
I see so many people that just cringe at the thought of dusting cards ... but unless your actual goal in the game is to have a collection, then why keep bad cards when you still need good ones? Using your example ... Temporus is about as horrible as they come ... why not dust it?
I have just started a second account to see what the f2p new player experience would be like. And while it is pretty rough, I have been able to craft a single viable deck .. Spiteful Priest. But, I have dusted nearly every other class card, and several good legendary cards to get there. What good is having the Warlock legendary weapon, Paladin DK, and yes ... I ended up with Temporus as well?
By dusting cards to create a viable deck, I have been able to climb to Rank 12, and I would expect I will get into the 10-6 bracket by end of season. I am still missing a few cards I would like to have, and the deck has limitations even when it is complete, but I think Rank 10 is admirable for a free account piloted by an "average" skill player. (pretty sure Toast actually took this deck to legend last season).

I think we are playing for different reasons. I have no interest in climbing the ladder with just one deck. I can't imagine playing one deck over and over again for weeks. I always have 18 decks, two for each class. I cycle though and complete quests. Variety is the spice of life. I just like to make fun/good decks with what I have. I'm not really complaining - just pointing out that in this expansion, it's been pretty tough to find anything new that I can use.

Ungoro gave us f2p'rs Stonehill Defender. Frozen throne gave us Bonemare. But every good deck in this Kobold meta needs epics and/or legendaries.
Forgetting the legendaries, if I could just land some epics, I could run aggro (Corridor Creeper, Call to Arms), big decks (Grand Archivist, Spiteful Summoner, Arcane Tyrant), or even that annoying warlock junk (Voidlord).
This has to be the most usable set of epics in any expansion.
yea, the epics this set have some pretty awesome effects
It will be even worse next rotation - the last adventure set rotates out and they were great for f2pers (myself included).
.
But very few legendaries are tier 1...

If you cant deal with the standart meta... why not just play wild?
Wild has tons of cheep cards that are good enoth to carry you.
