They said that after the nerf, shaman only got stronger because their counters were nerfed harder. They put it as the only tier 1 deck because they think it's so much better than any other deck that it needs it's own tier (just like purify priest does with tier 6)
Blizzard really screwed up, because now there won't be a patch for a long time and for the next half a year at least, shaman will be broken. How do you feel about that?
Agree with Tempo Storm on this one. Shaman is so broken, it has no direct counters which puts it in the tier of its own. Old secret paladin or say patron warrior had counters, this deck doesn't have them.
I haven't seen nearly as many Shaman since the nerf. That being said, if you're worried about Shaman, try a deck that specifically counters it.
Also, take anything that you read on TempoStorm with a grain of salt. Even if the meta snapshot was 100% accurate when it was released (which is improbable), if enough players read it and change their behavior accordingly, the meta will be change rather quickly.
shaman tier 1 for reason. only few deck can consistence win again shaman.
Ramp/Maly/Token Druids= heavy depend on early ramp . without wild growth and innervate early will give auto win to shaman. lack of board clear.
paladin, renolock & priest= inconsistency tier 3 and tier 4 deck, heavy depend starting hand. have answer all the threats win or loses.
zoo= 4 board clear in shaman deck. zoo nearly have zero chance. unless shaman draw zero board clear.
freeze mage= only deck that consistence win again shaman.
tempo mage=50-50. who have the good start win the games. ie: arcade blast +spell power remove totem golem. flame walker combo with coin etc.
control warrior= 50-50 need good draw. fiery war axe and brawl in starting hand, if not, you will get overwhelming and loses in turn 5-6.
rogue= weak again shaman, unless you are very lucky with draw and shaman have bad hand..
This is right on in my opinion. I have been playing bloodlust shaman because I enjoy it, which isn't exactly midrange but close enough, and those descriptions are spot on for my matchups. I dread mage. Rogue and Druid are only good when they get all their answers. I don't even see priests. I seem to be favored against hunters too (0 mana 5/5 taunt too good when cotw is 9 mana now and I can hex highmane).
I think the nerf to CotW, rockbiter and Execute did this. If more ppl play hunter etc. More decks can be played. Now every one play only Shaman :(
My experiense with cotw now is that the 1 mana did nothing. Its still strong after you smoth out the curve with Ragnaros and midrange hunter is still the most fun deck to play. I made it to Legend in 2 and a half day with my hunter deck.
And dont read Tempostorms meta snapshot. Its not a list of the strongest decks, its a list of the most played decks (meta)
Playing control warrior right now and literally having a 100% win ratio against mid range shaman even after the execute nerf. Went from rank 13 to rank 4 yesterday. Right now mid range shaman is definitely not broken, of course it is tier 1 thanks to its versatility but I would argue that it is the only tier 1 deck right now (would add control warrior, malygos druid and tempo mage also).
Sadly i must agree with this. The Shaman nerfs in Standard were right. But the problem is that one target were missed and that's Totem Golem. In an format that removed most counters to it, and now also nerf deck that counters shaman, without a nerf hit on Totem Golem Shaman even got stronger.
There's only one real counter to Midrange Shaman and thats CW with double revenge and Baron Geddon. Because you don't really play Freeze Mage on ladder LUL
The execute nerf did not affect this match up too hard because they don't play 4 mana 7/7s, but the Rockbiter nerf means Shaman has to run Bloodlust to threaten any burst now and the Tuskarr nerf means no more free wins for Shaman :)
Maybe you can devise another soft counter but it will be too weak to every other MU to be playable on ladder.
I agree with TempoStorm, the single deck that counter Midrange Shaman is.... Midrange Shaman.
The worst part is people who doesn't like the actual meta must wait until March to see Shaman get a little diminished.
This system will take Heartstone to death. Blizzard MUST make a HUGE change to keep this alive.
Lockdown Paladin counters Midrange and Aggro Shaman pretty hard. It's a hard-control deck though, so it gets slaughtered by Zoo and has a hard time with Hunters that use sticky minions (which is all of them right now).

It's wrong. Maly and ramp druid stomp midrange shaman decks. The meta will adjust to it.
The meta is still adjusting to the newly balanced cards. This is just knee jerking. Patience young one.
Lol tempo mage has the best match up against Shaman. I have won the last 8 games out of 9 against that class. It must be a mistake .
Soul Parade :)
this is good, this way, players that only play T1 will only play Shamman and we just have to play Shamman counters to get free wins all over the place,
Ps: if anyone is interested i'm doing great against them with Tjhis' Anyfin paladin
People are overhyping Shaman far to much, yes it's annoying to play against, yes it's petty strong - but god-tier? Definitely not.

Time to make golden midrange shaman deck.
rub the salt in

Just reached legend from rank 3 with freeze mage, thanks to all the midrange shammys.

Don't know about you guys but I crush them with my control warrior.
As long as they don't have the dream (Trogg -> Golem -> Coin Ferals / Flametongue with me not having a Win Axe), I have answers for everything.
