I just crafted Patches because I wanted to get higher ranks, but I feel really bad about it. I feel like I'm turning into one of those cancerogenic players, losing my dignity.
If you had good intentions, focus on those intentions more and less on pride. Try not to feel bad about a decision you made consciously unless it has real life altering consequences.
A lot of people are running Patches, sure. However, it doesn't mean you have to feel bad. Bring your kind of fun to the game and leave it at that. In the end, you're only as cancerous as your guilty conscience. Try not to think too hard on it.

It's okay, I guess. How's the rest of your deck? There are other components that would make a meta-worthy deck, and Patches (in my opinion, but please feel free to correct me) is a major component but not the make-or-break condition.
The problem is that you have to play that broken card (in the decks in fits in ofcourse) to win. It's a free 1/1 with charge. Literally free, doesn't cost mana, doesn't cost a card. It only costs a card in your deck, which is often even an advantage (because you cycle to burn damage faster).
Maybe Blizzard learns their lesson about making retarded cards. Probably not.
Crafted patches ~ never regretted it. Neither should you! ^^

I did the same thing about a month after Msog and realizing how broken Pirate warrior was. At least you haven't stooped so low as to craft Raza the Chained this late in the game. That would be downright dastardly.
I remember climbing with Face Hunter (back in the day) and, as AbusingKel said, I wasn't enjoying the deck. I just didn't enjoy the play style. It's really up to you if you feel "guilty" using him. If your goal is to get to higher ranks and he helps achieve the wincon of your deck, then I think you should use him. If you just want to play for fun and don't like using aggro decks, then I would leave him out. Your call, but I don't think you should worry about what other people think. Play the game the way you want and have fun.
like most threads, this is stupid.. i frequently type out responses and then just delete them, because what is the point?
First of all, the entire premise of the thread is wrong, you don't need patches to rank up, either to 5 or legendary.
Second of all, you play this nonsense game for fun. if playing patches causes you to have more fun than you would have had without patches, then craft patches. whether its because you win more or you like his entry music or the way he shoots out of a cannon or the hilarity of drawing him turn 1, whatever, who cares, you're playing for fun, have fun. why does it matter what the loud elitist jerks say about patches.
Do not impose onto yourself unnecessary "rules" about card crafting or deck building. That has nothing to do with dignity.
If anything, players should feel bad about stuff like in-game BMs, or attacking people on forums for no reason. Not implying that you do that, mind, just speaking in general ;)

Thoughts?
The point of the game is to win. If that card gives you an advantage to win, why feel bad about it?

Come visit my Card Emporium. Strange things, you will find inside...
Come take the test, if you're daring. Feel free to show me your results in a message.
Patches is a staple card in this game. That's the way it is.
At least he's neutral and you can play him in multiple decks.
You're forgiven. I crafted him myself, used him, then removed him. I'm probably losing more games now. :(

Patches and aggro aren't even cancer anymore. Broken "control" decks like jade druid and razakus priest are.

Patches is great, as is Keleseth, both worthy of golden craft

"There is no spoon"
Its a card game, for goodness sake. Craft what you want to have fun or win, or both.
The condescending attitude of most of this community towards certain populations of players is tiring.

Posts here just get stupider and stupider.
Maybe you should talk to your therapist before crafting cards.
Listen to the intro of this upbeat song for good advice about regret.
thanks.
If you play to get to the highest rank possible, play the best cards, dont feel bad aboud it.
Fun decks have a place too, its called casual
