Bit longer answer: I'm using Hearthstone Deck Tracker, also from HSReplay and the Windows version of their client, as you correctly guessed. I used to think that the two clients were functionally equivalent, with just minor (ie, cosmetic) differences in the interface. Never seen HSTracker running, you know. So I imagined snapshots like yours came from a totally different tracker.
Seems I was wrong. Either that or I'm a doofus, since I can't find any way to enable CIs in HDT.
Frankly, I'm afraid this might be a way to push even more costly cards in the typical strong / cool deck.
Like: oh, so you want to play <favorite school> <favorite class>? Sure, just get this dozen legendaries plus another umpteen epics and you're all set!
Not really an issue for whales, but for the rest of us... hmm :/
I guess that's possible, but if the number of cards in each expansion doesn't change, it's not likely. If done right, it could increase the number of decent, playable decks in the meta, meaning that even f2p can play some competitive deck.
Now, on the flip side, if you as an f2p have your heart set on some specific school/ class build ("I gotta play this Arcane Mage deck"), then yes you could end up having to craft the key legendary/ epic it requires. But that's true now: if you didn't open C'Thun and can't craft him, you're not playing a C'Thun deck.
The second half of your argument is quite straightforward, not much to be questioned there. About the first half... guess "If done right" is the operative phrase, here. We'll begin to see how things go when Barrens hits, ofc, and we'll see better throughout the rest of the year.
But I remain a tad pessimistic. Why? Because of this gut feeling (no scientific research or anything, sorry) that, on average, the cost of a good deck has only increased over the years. Often in a not immediately apparent way, because some synergy or another emerged over time, requiring several high-end cards to be fully leveraged. People proficient in HS history, please correct me if this is wrong.
Anyway, schools may be fun and all, thematically and for the sake of variety, sure. But it's not just the complexity of creative deck-building that increases, it's also the number of constraints, of requirements that will probably go up. And with those, the pressure to have a complete or almost-complete collection.
So not only f2ps but also casuals (meaning, people who spend something here and there but not 300+ $ per expansion) might be faced with tough choices, even more than today. At least, tougher than crafting a single legendary ;)
Hey Madderon, which deck tracker are you using? I'm specially interested in the confidence interval feature (the "90% CI" column in your snapshot), but cannot seem to find it in any tracker...
Ehrm... sorry mate, not meaning to be a jerk or anything, but a 10-1 score really doesn't mean that much.
For example, recently I went 18-0 with a deck , but I'm not boasting a 100% WR. We need to play more games if we want that rate to be realistic, otherwise it might just be a good streak.
There's simply too much uncertainty on such a small sample. Look up "confidence interval" on your favorite search engine, if you want to know more. Cheers!
It's a shame that the score is so pointless and somewhat unfulfilling. Just knowing how many points you can get would at least add some feeling to that number. Otherwise one could hope that 80% of the points weren't gained by just playing pointlessly. having a high win streak or winning in a crazy way is an achievement. summoning beasts is not. In fact. If you can play HS for 4 months without summoning a single beast, THAT would be an achievement!
Nicely put. BTW this was my sentiment, too.
If memory serves well, in World of Warcraft you have something like "XXXXX out of YYYYY" on your achi page. And not only for the grand total, but also for each category, am I right (haven't played WoW in a while)? That gives at least some sense of purpose... if you care about those things ofc. If you don't, well, no harm done whatsoever.
Likewise, in WoW an achievement is usually something hard, crazy or funny (or all of the above), not just something trivial repeated a number of times. Well, TBH you might have the occasional boring one, like "Kill 500 critters" but most are at least somewhat exciting, like "Defeat that boss in this ridiculous way". In HS the proportion seems reversed.
And some WoW achis could bring you other stuff, like companions, mounts, titles... here there's the hero skin at lvl 50 and that's all.
Don't get me wrong, I'm happy Blizz introduced achievements in Hearthstone (some of us have been asking that for years!). But it seems there's still a long way to go, to be on par with other games.
Everybody and their grandmas seem to be worried about how much XP or how much gold they make. Perfectly understandable. A few bold souls talk about the level they reach in the reward track. Ditto.
But today the question is about those mostly useless achievements points, you know, those good only for bragging rights? Those whose total you can find in the achievements tab (duh!) in the upper right corner, next to the tiny amber thingy? Yes, those!
Let's satisfy this curiosity, shall we? Thanks all! :)
Some XP-rewarding achievements can be quite frustrating and time-consuming to get. You may need to build some meme deck, then play it for hours, waiting for the right draw, an opponent not crushing your goal or just some luck. And this could be even worse, if your collection lacks some cards useful for the achi, but that you don't want to craft just for the sake of it.
So... don't know if somebody already proposed this and I missed it but... what would you think of couples of players agreeing to make achis easier for one another? Say, for example, I want to do "Not So Lonely" and you let me grow my Redeemed Pariah to 10+ atk in peace. Then I do the same for you, for that or for another achievement you miss. And so on and so forth.
We could even have a specific thread here on hearthpwn, dedicated to achievements exchange, similar to the one already in place for 80 g 1500 XP Quest Trading.
I don't think this should break any ToS, but please correct me if I'm wrong?
I can understand that they stopped supporting the app, but it would be great if they made an official annoucement and close this section of the forum,n or better, publish the code for someone to continue it.
This.
Either fix it or do not fix it, but at least be clear and consistent about it. Don't say one thing and do another.

On 182 atm, no pass.
Usually I do all my quests and get to D5, not really pushing for Legend. Am a bit of an achievement nerd, though ;)

Looks like it didn't. Not in the time zone I live in, at least.
So... do we have any info about the actual hour? Lacking specific announcements, maybe leaks, rumors, educated guesses? :P

Oh and of course feel free to comment about your achi points experience.
Like, for example: do you even care? If so, did you set a goal for yourself? Is your progression satisfying? Frustrating?
