DreamHack Bucharest 2015 "PGL Spring Tavern Tales" Survival Guide - Tournament this Weekend!
Blackwing Lair Heroic Boss Guides
Need some help with Blackwing Lair on Heroic difficulty? We've compiled some decks to help you out! The decks used for Heroic Difficulty can also be used on Normal difficulty with similar strategies.
If you've successfully defeated Heroic bosses with decks that aren't listed here, make sure you submit them with our deckbuilder!
- Categorize your deck as the Adventure type to choose which boss it is for.
- Remember to add a written guide to your deck to teach everyone how it works against the boss!
- Top adventure deck guides get featured on our front-page deck widget under the new Blackrock Mountain category.
Razorgore the Untamed
View the Razorgore Boss Guide - View All Decks for this Boss
- Razorgore has 30 Health and 15 Armor on Heroic.
- He starts off with a Corrupted Egg on the field.
- Your goal during this fight is to not allow him to hatch his eggs. Eggs which hatch spawn a Chromatic Drake.
- Even if you get to fatigue, it's more important that you took the game slow!
- Low cost minions will help you deal with the eggs. Some removal for his other drops is also required.
- Some healing spells can help you survive longer.
- He has a Bloodlust in his deck which will be catastrophic if he gets to cast it on several minions.

Vaelastrasz the Corrupt
View the Vaelastrasz Boss Guide - View All Decks for this Boss
- Vaelastrasz has 30 Health and 15 Armor on Heroic.
- The fight is very fast paced due to his hero power which draws you three cards.
- The latest you will start to take fatigue damage is on his seventh turn, assuming he doesn't play any Naturalize.
- One of the easiest ways you can win this encounter is to mill him back.
- Low cost aggression is also a viable solution to the fight since you can flood your board with everything you draw.

Chromaggus
View the Chromaggus Boss Guide - View All Decks for this Boss
- Chromaggus has 60 Health on Heroic, and no armor.
- Every turn you will get one Brood Affliction card. This card gives you a negative effect.
- The first five afflictions always show up in the same order: Green, Red, Blue, Bronze, and Black.
- Afflictions after the first five are completely random.
- His Chromatic Dragonkins will grow very powerful if you play too many spells - silence is useful, but if you can get rid of them right away with a minion that is slightly preferred.
- Silence is more useful against the 8+ health Twilight Drakes he loves to drop.
- This fight is easily defeated through cheating the AI with Kel'Thuzad and a Taunt minion.
- Alexstrasza can see some potential play on this fight if you can straight up survive until she can be played.

Lord Victor Nefarius
View the Nefarius Boss Guide - View All Decks for this Boss
- Nefarius turns into Nefarian on his first turn who has 30 Health and 50 Armor.
- Ragnaros is on your side during this fight and will give you a single card to help you out at the start of the fight. The card you get is random.
- Son of the Flame, Living Lava, Whirling Ash, and DIE, INSECT! are these cards.
- He will have 10 mana starting on turn 2 which allows him to swarm the board with minions. Removal here is key.
- You want to play safe and never over extend during the game - Flamestrike is a real possibility.
- Keep in mind the spells that your class has access to - expect the worse case scenario.

It's very nice that for another one wing,we can play with Mill decks. At least for me,it's very funny to fight against bosses with Mill decks.I am sure that i will play again and again versus the bosses that need Mill mechanichs.
Ah, I always love seeing the different decks people come up with - proves there's more than one way to beat the bosses :)
I was happy to get super value out of dragon Pally. So much fun.
Cheers for the video TheChiv!
thanks
Chromaggus, probably the hardest NPC in the game. I sincerely hope.
the last boss is imo way harder than Chromaggus, who was a joke to me.
How did you beat Heroic Chromaggus? I've been through 14 decks over the last 7 hours and no matter what I do, I can't beat him. This garbage is even worse than Baron or Rend or the Arena. I mean with those you stood a chance, but Chromaggus is just stupid. You can't get rid of the 3 mana cards every turn, so you'll just die eventually/get milled. If you do get rid of them, he spams minions, and you'll be boardless, and you die. If, by some miracle, you get rid of his cards and his minions, he just swipes/bites you in the face.
Is there something I'm missing? I don't own Alexstrasza or anything to make the fight easier, so am I just screwed?
I used a KT taunt deck and it worked well..Oh yeah with tree of life to reset. The idea is to ramp and out last and then get down some taunts with a kt on the board. Eventually he will give up his hand advantage and you just maintain your board advantage while dumping the crap he gives you. pay attention to the cards he gives you and get rid of the ones that will cause you the most problem. leaving the ones that heal im in your hand till you are able to pop out to or more a shot thanks to the emperor behind taunts and with a KT on the board will make dealing with him very very easy.

I 3 shot Chromaggus with this Priest deck. Made a 20 20 taunt by turn 4 with some good RNG. It even had a lightwell behind it too.
I played the priest deck offered on this very website, it worked first try like a charm on 3 different accounts....
Murloc deck,or try even to Mill him back? Also i guess, the mighty Deathwing will be an option
I completed it with a buff priest deck with no legendaries. Double lightwell & 2x inner fire/2x divine spirit /2x velens. Dont need any AI bull spit.
The key is that you dont have to remove the first two cards. The lightwells, if you double their health at least once, get basically ignored and heal you for the red card's damage. The green card is irrelevant until he has played out his hand.
All you have to do is make sure the bronze card is played so he doesnt flood the board, and control the board with heals and buffed up minions. Deathlord works great too. The blue card is better to be played, but not an absolute necessity. Usually what happens is that he goes ham with spells and draws a bunch of cards and then flamestrikes, killing nothing. Once the spells are out of his hand then the blue card is safe too.
By turn 9 you have a beefy board, his hand is limited, and you just remove the green/red cards from your hand and start killing him.
If you're still having trouble, my advice is to focus on removing the first Red card, and all Blue and Bronze. The cost reduction gives him far too much of an advantage. I played essentially the same druid mill deck as is featured, and once I prioritized removing those dragonflights, I won on my fourth game.
I was pretty sad to use Chromag in my mage deck, only to face 5 facehunters and never get to use him. Really glad Blizzard focuses on late-game cards when a large portion of the playerbase still focuses on agro and face.
All heroic boss clears
This Dragon pally deck worked great....
