Spellbook Duel is This Week's Brawl!
Choose your spellbook carefully, champion! Pick 10 cards, and anytime you would draw a card, you instead Discover a copy of a card from your deck.
Trivia
- This is the second time we've seen this brawl.
- The first time we saw this brawl was on January 18, 2017.
- Card draw effects don't work in this brawl. Instead they give you a copy of Peruse.
How it Works
- Choose a class.
- From your chosen class, pick 10 cards from your collection to put into your deck.
- You may only have 1 of each card in your created deck.
- Each time you draw your initial card, you will instead use the Discover mechanic to pick a card from your deck.
- If you draw a card through a card effect, you don't immediately gain the Discover window. You must spend 1 mana to Discover that card though Peruse.
Fun Times
This is just a sampling of some of the fun card interactions we have with this brawl.
- You can add more cards to your deck. Playing a card like Jade Idol will give you 3 copies of it, which will increase your chances during Discover of seeing another Jade Idol.
- Tracking will actually remove 2 cards from your Discover pool. Choose wisely, hero!
- Fel Reaver will also remove cards from the Discover pool. Mages be warned, you can get this from Firelands Portal.
- Reno Jackson and the other Reno-style cards will always work unless dupe cards are added to your deck.
- Beneath the Grounds.. yep. It ruins your opponent's Discover pool (And Reno potential) with Ambush being tossed in.
Top Decks from the Past
These were the top five decks from the last time this brawl was active. There is likely some new decks to try though so don't limit yourself to these right away!

Discuss This Week's Brawl
Head on over to our dedicated discussion thread on our Tavern Brawl forums.
So the deck can be reduced to 9 cards when Patches the Pirate is played
Uhm.... you need another pirate to do that. The card will always exist since you discover from your deck, not draw.
I just won with Jade Idol, it's a comeback and my 1st game this tavern brawl :|
With Inner Fire Priest, lost only two games against Quest Mage (bad draw), added Eater of Secrets and won every single game
The Gnomeferatu exploit is unacceptable.
hhmmm ur right wow
Winning streak with Quest mage until I see that.
Concede after iceblock burned on turn 2.
Now I play the warlock burn deck.
So many already seen brawls recently, either they are late with next expansion card designing or there will be something big coming in the future they are putting all effort right now.
Is blizzard ever going to implement card type of "tools" or something to prevent any brawl that has spell tokens being flooded with flamewalker mages?
Radiant Elemental with Power Word: Shield is pretty disgusting as well. I like your idea of limiting the spell synergy.
I made a troll mill deck. Been winning most of my games, some through rage quit:
Preparation
Shadowstep
Southsea Deckhand
Deadly Poison
Hallucination
Eviscerate
Sap
Vanish
Coldlight Oracle
Antique Healbot
It's death by 1,000 cuts. So far my only losses have been to a quest mage and a Jade shaman where I kept not discovering Vanish.
try my deck makes it more fun http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/950499-tavern-mage-cthun-ownage
I've been having a ton of fun (and success) with this decklist I came up with. Unlike most of the decks I've seen for the brawl thus far, it's super cheap (360 dust in total, no epics or legends) and is highly effective, often achieving victory on turn 5 or 6. If you want to get a good deck to grind gold on tavern brawl for cheap, I highly recommend it.
There's a link
Hey guys I made an infinite turn mage deck and It's the most fun I've ever had on hearthstone. This is my first time posting a deck so I hope you guys like it!
You made this or blatantly copied it after watching Toast build it in stream?
i made the same idea but added cthun for more fun. its great planting a cthun at 50+ for lethal. http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/950499-tavern-mage-cthun-ownage
Every spell you discover counts for Open the Waygate... Reno quest mage is broken in this brawl. I got my win with it, but man, it feels retardedly strong!
Here's a Gang Up Patches the Pirate Ship's Cannon machine-gun deck I saw someone else playing and copied. I have a write-up for it if anyone is interested in playing it. It's really good and a lot of fun.
