wow bro. talk about censorship. just cuz u dont like a topic doesnt give u the right to ban me. thats crazy. what is this, communist China? NO, its not. Its a question asked to see how people think abou it. thats it. nothing sinister about it. jeez man, get a life.
the entire point of this expansion is to revisit old sets.
and thats why i asked the question. it seems like they are running out of ideas. theres only so many ways u can make a 3/4 minion interesting after 5 years. thats my point and why I wanted to hear from others. Especially from long time players.

They can make as many 3/4s as they have ideas for new keywords. But if they make a expansion that’s themed around visiting old expansions , I’m not surprised to see a 3/4 Mech called Sp00der T0nk, for example.
It seems like the development team has run out of ideas. I havent been playing since Beta or anything, but even I can see redundancy in the cards coming out. They are bringing back old cards, similar themes etc...so, does this mean the game is in its twilight years? Or will have it enough newplayers from China for example, to keep it going? Is that a good thing for the game?
With the "failure" of other card games to take over from HS, like Artifact, are we players destined to just seeing repeat cars and ideas from now on? It has been out for 5 years now, and games seem to fade away after that long. Especially a game with so much RNG intractions, which are its charm by the way, runningout of fresh ideas.
Personally, I dont mind, cuz I didnt play HS when Goblins and Gnomes was out etc....so I havent had a chance to see these themes in action, but what about long time players? How does Firebat, for example, feel about this? Does it matter what he thinks? Is the game primarily for new players now?
Thought?
First of all, we havent seen more then a few cards of this expansion, all the stronger cards are often reveal later. Second the first release has to be weak in powerlevel in order to give room for cards with later expansions. We also have rotation comming so the game will no matter what be bran new.
I think creating smart well though cards is better then making flashy weird cards then might need nerfs or never see plays. I dont think that the cards we have seen so far are reprints as some point out. Totaly diffrent bodies and mana cost makes the cards so much different.
I will prolly still be playing Hearthstone for a long time and i played since early beta. There is a ton of other card games out there and more come every month. People love these card games at first, because its fresh a new, but none of them are able to hold players for long. Hearthstone is the biggest card game ever and even magic doesnt stand a chance to push it out, atm atleast.

Repeat after me:
Just because I'm bad at something, doesn't mean that that something is bad.
I typical fanboys - bandwagon response as always to a real question. Good or bad at the game has nothing to do with it.
The effort they've put in it declined. No adventures anymore. Now they can run cruise control after a climb that was interesting. The game is a success, thanks to the fanboy who doesn't care about skill in the game. Who demands mindlessness of a polarized meta. And that is what is to be expected once again. Marketing has tuned down to the respect of the fanboy - which isn't that great. You don't show much respect for rush seekers more than you need to.
So the feel of decline has anything to do with success brought by a mindless playstyle for which card design constructs cards printed for fanboys. The problem to the game is the fanboy, not the game itself.

Its more so the fact that you are not just beating a dead horse, but absolutely annihilating it. There are a handful of posts this week I've commented on, both good and bad, that basically say the same thing you are now. There are equally as many people commenting with things that say "This conversation happens every expansion reveal". So yes I'm suggesting we ban accounts for the exact things you can report when reporting a thread (feel free to check those out if you haven't yet). Also, let's not play the "waste your time" "get a life" card. Your achievements on this site are public. Both of us are pretty active, one a little more than the other... I'm simply saying repeat threads are clouding up the feeds as new cards get announced and meaningful discussions get added. You can find the other ten threads discussing this if it's important enough to bring up to you. But, since recently three or more of these are made a day I think it is totally fair to start reporting for spamming, trolling, or- depending on content- any variety of the report tools. Just yesterday a person started their thread with almost the direct quote: "I dislike Hearthstone...don't have a good relationship with it....I prefer other card games and games in general..." and then they preceded to talk about their disappointment with the game/new expansion. If people want to take this site seriously at all as a source of news/discussion/theorycrafting then we really need to do a little better than spam threads...
Run out its course, it is excessive. But they are for sure risking a lot and like now my opinions on this expansion are very bad.
Hearthstone is loosing a lot of players. Everyone know that, due to Blizzard's financial position that is going very bad (also due to Diablo immortal) (see market cap on Yahoo finance in the past 3 months), because Blizzard fired 800 people in February (see article) and also because Ayala said that in February on twitter (see screen). So, they are not going well for sure.
They are taking now a lot of risks with this expansion because, they seems lazy.
Come on, this expansion seems very lazy In the design, recycle cards, it is a very fast process. If we Consider also that a lot of people seems leaving Hearthstone because the game is becoming boring, for sure the game is not less boring recycling old stuffs. So, everything like now it is very questionable.
Hearthstone made, after Brode, horrible expansions, and this is unfortunately a fact. After Brode, Hearthstone started to lose players. So, I don't think that Hearthstone will run out its course now, but in the nearly future, if they don't change a lot of things, and the start is really bad.
We're seeing not only old mechanics being implemented in new, interesting ways, but we're also seeing new mechanics like twinspell and lackeys. I also like the three expansion storyline approach and the higher communication from the devs is a big +. I'm really happy with what I've seen so far tbh
Brode was probably Game Dirctor when they made WitchWood.Boomsday and Rastakhan. Since I heard in a podcast that this is probably the first expansion he wasn’t involved in. Wich makes sense since Peter Whalen said, when they release an expansion, the next one is more or less done, they are mostly working on the one after that, and usually brainstorming about the idea of the 4th one.
So as you can see they are working quite in an advance. But even considering the expansions when Brode was on board, he never "made" an expansion by himself.
This is Team 5 last chance!!! If this expansion ends up being shit, the game will end up being supported monetarily mostly by fanboys, and believe me, as many as they are, they are not enough. ;)

Blizzard said that are working in advance for one year yes. But this is pointless. After him Blizzard started to lose players and this is a fact. Now we can't say that the expansions have been changed after him, that they made one years before but not totally completed, that at the end Brode was tired and made shit. I don't know and nobody know this. But we know for sure that after him Blizzard started to lose players.
I keep seeing people saying that recycling mechanics for sets is a bad thing and I do not understand. Recycled mechanics are a sign of growth in card games, MTG has recycled mechanics again and again. All it means is that they think they were onto something in the past, and they think they can flex the mechanic to make it even better. It's not a sign of decreased creativity in fact I think its the opposite.
Also as kind of a side point, a card game being big enough to reference its own past is an amazing sign of progress!
Every person that says that Blizzard is being lazy recycling cards needs to read this. Finally Blizzard is reintroducing old mechanics in cool interesting ways and people call it cheap design? THIS is what most old time players have wanted for a while and I couldn't be more happy bringing back some old mechanics.
Also for people that stated that Hearthstone devs are running out of ideas you must have never heard of MTG. Magic has been around for over 20 years and is still going strong. Hearthstone has a literal infinite amount of design possibilities; you can just check custom cards to give you an idea of how limitless card design is.
All in all, I'm excited for this expansion and rotation and while I still wish for more gamemodes, cosmetics, and cheaper sets, I feel just as confident in Hearthstone as I did years ago.
the theme of the new set is literally to revisit old stuff eh.... also id rather see recycled but balanced stuff instead of new koft+knc type of set which dominates all upcoming expansion until it rotates.
originally the last set of a year used to be the strongest as it had limited time to be to broken and annoying. it was different with koft and i can't wait to finally see rotate that stuff
This is Team 5 last chance!!! If this expansion ends up being shit, the game will end up being supported monetarily mostly by fanboys, and believe me, as many as they are, they are not enough. ;)
What?
Do you think now they say, ohh damn and we thought we would get through by revealing garbage cards? Let’s all stop working on the third expansion of this year (wich they usually do by now) , change them very fast or find something so people don’t think it’s shit. This is our last chance!!!
... Post like these are so overdone and pointless.
