This is the Discussion Topic. The Submission Topic will go up in 24 hours.
Competition Theme: Once Upon A Time
This weeks theme comes from Crawsushi, whose "Promise of Power" was the winner of our "Perpetual Commotion" competition.
Competition-Specific Restrictions:
Your card's effect must apply for the duration of exactly one specific turn, such as "this turn", "next turn", "during your next turn", etc. Examples include Innervate, Lock and Load, Millhouse Manastorm, and Loatheb.
The effect may be able to be triggered multiple times, in the case of something like Savage Combatant.
The effect may be singular, or one-time-use, but with a condition or trigger restricted to a single specific turn, like Preparation or Cho'gall.
Your card may have other additional or alternate effects that do not adhere to this restriction, like Bite or Feral Rage, as long as at least one effect qualifies.
Competition Process
Preview Phase (Starts Now! Ends 19:00 UTC 22/September/2016) During this Phase, the Discussion Topic is made available, previewing this week's competition theme. Entry and Early Voting Phase (Starts 19:00 UTC 22/September/2016, Ends 17:00 UTC 26/September/2016) During this Phase, the Submission Topic is made available for your submissions. You may also, of course, feel free to give early up-votes to any submissions that you like! Voting Phase (Starts 17:00 UTC 26/September/2016, Ends 17:00 UTC 27/September/2016) During this Phase, the Submission Topic will be locked, so no more entries may be submitted. Instead, use this time to browse the submissions and up-vote your favorites! Final Phase (Starts 18:00 UTC 27/September/2016, Ends 18:00 UTC 28/September/2016) During this Phase, the Discussion Topic will also be locked, and a new Poll Topic will go up. Discussion will be allowed to continue in the Poll Topic, and it will also include all the qualifying finalists and poll to decide the winner of the competition!
Discussion Topic Rules
To make sure that everything runs smoothly, we need to reserve the Submission Topic for submissions only. Everything else goes here. What is everything else, you might ask?
Rules or Process. Do you have a question about the competition's process? Do you need clarification about one of the entry requirements? Are you not sure whether your entry adhered to the rules? Ask here!
Feedback or Ideas. Do you have some ideas you'd like to run by others before settling on one? Do you need help balancing or wording your entry? Do you need help finding art that will fit your card? Or do you just want feedback from the community on your entry? You're in the right place! Remember, although you are allowed to make minor tweaks to your entry after you've submitted it, you're only allowed one submission per week, so make sure that you've settled on your card for sure beforehand.
Discussion! Do you have thoughts on other people's entries? Are there directions you don't like that you're seeing too many people take? Or directions you'd like to see more people take? Would you like to help others and contribute to a greater community understanding of Hearthstone card design and balance? This is where you want to be!
All of that said, please refrain from the following:
Posting TONS of Ideas. Discussion topics become an absolute mess if everybody is posting a dozen different ideas. Please post not more than 3 distinct ideas at a time. Any more than that and we'll have to delete your post.
Advertising Your Entry. Please don't pop in here just to advertise your entry only to never be heard from again. This includes only asking short, generic, or insincere questions like "Thoughts?" or "Do you think this is interesting?". Yes, getting feedback on your entry is one of the purposes of this topic, but we're not just here for other people to help you. We're here for you all to help each other. 12 hours after this competition begins, there should be plenty of other posts here for you to give specific feedback or for you to comment on a trend. If you post your entry for feedback after this time and do not also offer some form of substantial commentary, critique, or praise of others' work, you may find your post deleted.
Plagiarism. Many people post their ideas here before finalizing them in the submission topic. Directly plagiarizing those ideas to post in the submission topic yourself is absolutely not acceptable.
So, without further ado, have fun and get creating!
Any thoughts on this card? It can bring a real pain at late game, while you play a lot of minions, or at early game to back a little your opponent game (Because you are gonna play cheap things).
First idea. Quite simple, and could give priests the "2-drop" they need. What do you think :) ?
EDIT: Created this a while ago. The idea is, that the enemies become petrified (shocked) when the spell is used, rendering them easy targets (-2 damage).
EDIT 2: that effect seems to be quite similar to Nurglings :P
Oooo I can see some good cards coming for this one :D
Good :D I was a little worried about the comp being too Linear or restrictive. Let's hope you're right! Anyways here's my idea:
A slow card, that allows for some extremely high tempo plays. It wouldn't be impossible for crazy turn 10 combos like: Norgannon > Elemental Destruction > Lightning Bolt on Norgannon > Earth Elemental > Earth Elemental > Flamewreathed Faceless > Flamewreathed Faceless > Spirit Wolves etc..
Ok, here's an idea that does fit the restrictions this time:
Inspired by Fog from MTG. This gives Druids (would it work better in a different class? It would have to be something with a connection to nature, so, like Shaman) a tool similar to Frost Nova where they can stall the game. If Mill Druid ever became a thing again, this might be good for that. Or just for setting up a combo or something.

This card IS frost nova, except it cant be silenced and is more confusing.
Here is my idea for this, it is actually a card i made for the 'make a card' thread but it has been one of my favourites and it actually fits this breif (i think). Let me know what you think.
It's just the effect of Commanding Shout on a windfury minion. Could be very strong but Windfury minions don't see play out of OTK worgen or mid-range Shaman. The idea of this is it's able to trade better than a normal windfury minion. Maybe it should be a 3/4 or 4/3 but i feel windfury is a little overcosted currently in the game. #windfurymatters

Boring design, FN meets conceal.
That's a mischaracterization. Conceal protects your minions from all targeted effects. The only thing Fog adds is protection from Charge minions, and the fringe case where Frozen is silenced off a minion.

Too broken, its by a total of 8 damage in a single turn, totally better and power creep of Windfury Harpy, additionaly of beign a neutral card.
Oh, and it doesn´t fits into the competition, because it must be 1 turn or your next turn, not permanent.
Opinions on balance? Would it be better if I make it "Spells you cast next turn do not Overload." so you could play this on turn 5, rather than waiting for like, turn 8 to be useful?
Is this guy OP? It's more powerful than Sparring Partner I think, since the taunted minions must be attacked in an order forced by you and he comes back with N'Zoth, the Corruptor. On the other hand, you don't pick the other taunted minion. On the other other hand, that doesn't matter much as his ability is meant to protect face from aggro above all else. He's right on the line of power creep imo, and I need some neutral opinions to see if I crossed it.
A Fandral Staghelm that only lasts one card, and you need to play that card in the same turn as this, but it allows you to play two of them. Would be really good in a Fandral deck in the event that you don't draw him.
EDIT: Misspelled "Fandral" when I was making the card link, I just corrected the spelling.

Honestly I believe it will be the complete opposite, very free to make some unique designs.
This week im planning on submitting this because Blizz introduced this as a possible mechanic 2 expansions ago and we still havent seen it.
Very excited to see what Blizz will introduce in the future!

At last, a good theme!
These are three cards coming from my personal collection. Is any of them worth submitting ?
BTW, can I have the image with the bronze dragons that served for this week's banner ? It looks awesome
Custom cards :
CLASSES : Alchemist (CCC#5 | Phase V) | Chef (CCC#4)
EXPANSIONS : Year of the Scorpion (Year Comp)
First thing I thought of
Fits the theme of the class and I think it's balanced (although it is honestly tough to tell).

You can't stop the signal.
