THey better not insta-nerf this. People just need to deal with it and let cool cards exist. Can’t wait. Day 1 craft for sure.
Though if they do end up nerfing it I'd much rather have it nerfed before it releases than to allow people to build decks around it then possibly kill those decks after people have gotten attached to playing them.
Who gives a f...k about people who craft obvious totally broken cards to completely smash others who are experimenting during the first hours/days of the release of a new expansion???
There is no way to know for sure that this will be broken or not...
Some cards are obviously broken like 4 manas Call To Arms, this one is broken as hell and never should be release, it is just insane, you get a copy for a high value minion and have mana to do more things in the same turn, that in a class have ramp, insane armor gain and the more powerful card in the game UI, looks like they learn nothing from mistakes in KFT release, we will have 80% druid decks in ladder until they finally smash the class again with nerf hammer.
Don't will be much more easier stop releasing stupid broken cards in the first place?
It's definitely a great card, but I feel that people aren't thinking it through completely before giving it tier s status.
Basically, it's a card that makes malydruid much more consistent. Before, you needed to draw the twig and get it down to one durability to prepare the otk, as well as draw your direct damage spells. Then, you can malygos, break weapon, and double moonfire double swipe.
With this, you still need to draw your malygos and direct damage spells. Assuming you have double moonfire and swipe in hand, what do you do? You can malygos, double moonfire, and next turn, floop and swipe. There isn't enough mana, however you do it, where you can get that extra swipe in. So that's 21 damage. You could faceless the floop for a double malygos, but then you can only double moonfire for 22 damage. A lot, but not enough for a consistent otk, and not worth the set up. This means that the deck will likely still run the twig, and floop is a backup plan for when the weapon comes out too late or is destroyed. And don't tell me that you're gonna floop, then break the twig. Just break the twig on the malygos turn. Floop is a redundant step if you have the twig set-up.
In other words, it makes malydruid more consistent by giving it a backup plan. However, it doesn't break the deck, because it doesn't create a new otk that people would rather play in place of the old one.
I could be missing some obvious otk comb with the card though, but my first impression is that it's not game breaking, but tips malydruid to be more consistent. Of course, I haven't mentioned it's use as a cheaper lich king or ysera or whatever, but I don't see the issue there; the copy is understatted and easy to remove. This card shines as a combo piece, not a value generator. Also, taunt druid does NOT need an extra hadronox. Especially since floop can be summoned by oaken summons and would disrupt the oaken summons ironwood golem package, which is a great package for taunt druid.
Kinda have to agree with you. It's just a mere 3/4 copy of a minion which Druid exactly needs it, otherwise, if the other classes have it, it would be broken then.
Eternal Servitude dude. the 4 mana malygos already exists. this isn‘t game breaking at all.
Problem with Eternal Servitude is that it isn't reliable unless you use a deck with only 3 minions and your opponent doesn't give you more. This is completely reliable without any deckbuilding cost other than not using Oaken Summons.
In other words, it makes malydruid more consistent by giving it a backup plan. However, it doesn't break the deck, because it doesn't create a new otk that people would rather play in place of the old one.
When you take a T1 deck and make it more consistent that does break the deck.

It's definitely not the tier 1 oppressive deck all over ladder people suddenly are claiming it is. And a version with floop would need to get rid of the oaken summons package, which makes it worse against aggro. I haven't seen a maly druid on ladder all week, and I'm currently at rank 1.
Yes, floop makes it better (assuming the loss of the oaken summons package isn't too detrimental), but I reiterate my prediction: it does not break the deck.

There is no way to know for sure that this will be broken or not. We don't know most of the cards yet and even if we just look at this card from the perspective of existing decks it still isn't busted.
I think it's really, really busted, but yeah, let's wait till the rest of the set is revealed to start a discussion about this. ;)
I don't really put much faith into what people really think about cards before a release because so often players' predictions are wrong or overestimated in terms of a card being too good or too bad. I don't mind waiting.
Most players thought the rogue quest was bad before release. A sizeable handful of players thought Azalina was going to see play in aggro as a type of refill mechanic against control. Many players thought that quest hunter would bring back a powerful aggro hunter deck. Almost nobody thought Witching Hour would turn Haddronox decks from a meme mill druid to a powerful combo deck. Almost everybody thought Uther's OTK horsemen would've seen a lot more play than it did, or that at least the DK would've seen a lot more play. Umbra was much more overhyped than it ended up being & saw much less play than predicted (even in wild). Rhok'Delar, To My Side, & Spell Hunter in general was viewed as complete meme cards & archtype that would not work. Skull of Man'ari was viewed by many as not likely to see a ton of play. Rin was split as being viewed as very powerful & completely winning games and being way too slow to see any play due to the long term mana cost required & multi-turn investment. Void Ripper was viewed as seeing minimal to no play. The Darkness was way overhyped and saw almost no play. Both Master Oakheart & KIng Togwaggle were both underestimated prior to release and/or WW. Emeriss overhyped. Arugal overhyped. Liam overhyped & did not see play in the vast majority of aggressive paladin decks. Lady in White overhyped. Dollmaster Dorian overhyped (even in wild) Odd decks as a whole were overhyped in general (barring Odd Pally & Odd Rogue).
I won't deny the potential in the card & I am already aware of the combos with Haddronox & Malygos, but considering how bad of theorycrafters that the community has proven to be in the last four expansions I will hold my full judgement for now.
Edit: Interferes with Oaken Summons pulling Fandral or golems. Probably less viable than first glance would make it seem for Tog/Maly decks. Faceless is probably still better.
Mage can counter it with an Explosive Runes so a counter does exist
Underrated comment.
If your opponent can kill your Maly and play Explosive runes in the same turn its game over. There is no counterplay for the secret because if you play another minion, Floop will forget Maly.
Greedy control? Its to many aggro face decks for that. Control has problem vs aggro mid and control. And then add all these combo decks, where u watch someone draw all his cards without doing anything then remove. Fun?
And you have nothing to help yourself against combo decks, you can just leave on turn 1.
So this card is stupidly overhyped. If you play it in hadronox, you can't play oakheart or oaken summons. Plus, you need it in your hand when you PLAY hadronox (you can't recruit or summon it). And that's just to give you a 3rd witching hour for 4 mana instead of 3, but you also need to play it as your next minion. It just seems far too situational to be consistent.
Don't bring up malygos. Maly druid will be a meme.
This guy may seem good, but you still need twig to deal some real damage and confirm a kill (against something without a quadrillion armour) just stay out of the 22 health range and Druid can’t touch you as it is a combo deck probably and may not have anything other than draw and armour gain.
The combo decks won’t be getting to use oaken summons but does it really? We still have spreading plague for aggro decks and maybe even starfall!?
Hope the card in usual hearthpwn fashion turns out to be garbage so I don’t have to deal with this.

Why can't you play oakheart or oaken summons exactly? Is a 3/4 with your 6 armor not good enough? This getting recruited by either of those cards is pretty good value. I can even see scenario's where it actually copies oakheart.
In a class without ramp, without reliable defense, without 0 mana damage spells.
Also, eternal servitude sparked a (pretty degenerate) deck type by itself.
Occasionally gives helpful advice.

They're gonna get nerfed in 2020, right b4 rotation. Raza flashbacks....

I like elementals and totems.

Very good staple card. Basically lets you play a legendary for 4 later in the game. Not OP, but could be a defining card for druids.
Goodbye Wild.
Edit: Interferes with Oaken Summons pulling Fandral or golems. Probably less viable than first glance would make it seem for Tog/Maly decks. Faceless is probably still better.
"Some other deck in the future...blah blah".
I'm the best worst player.
Oh really good point! Sheep + Explosive Rune = solid mage counter.
How are people voting dust it when they see this? As things stand at the moment, this is just going to keep druid near (if not at) the top of the meta
I misread this card so badly at first. I thought it changed back at end of turn. It does not.
4 mana Malygos, 4 mana Hadronox, or any super-expensive combo card becomes way too good.
Broken.
Why everyone thinks this will be a 3/4 Malygos/Hadronox for 4 mana? It seems to me it would be a 3/4 Malygos/Hadronox for 9 mana...
Still a good card though.
Edit: It seems it's really a 4 mana minion... :(

Oh no... get ready for potential 4 mana Tortollan Forager

It should have been “ the last minion you played this turn”
