I... I think this is a strong card, with a lot of potential.
Now, I want to express a quick thought - Back in Koft I had a discussion of what elemental mage could be. Since there were (roughly) two kinds of elementals - tempo oriented and value oriented, I insisted on the statement, that since they take way too many different roles and thus you can't build a consisted deck only based around them. What I meant was - mages had many class and neutral elementals on the different mana curves, but we can't use all of them in a single deck, because the roles they take are different. Thus we had a narrowed field to choose from.
Now it's a bit different. I'm not a mage elemental expert, nor did I play enough elemental mage in order to have a preciseopinion. I.e. I can't tell what is missing and what should we wait for. But I like how the slower versions got some support.
I personally think, that this card and the previously released 1-drop, would better fit in a spell based deck rather than a minion based one (because normally this is what elemental mage is; frost lich jaina also proved to be better there rather than the elemental based deck, which the battlecry suggests her to be), also that 2 mana Cabalist's Tome. But I'm excited to see the other cards and people's imagination and their creations.
If Glyph didn’t give you the discount, this would not have been broken as heck and hell. Just wow. 16 damage off hand with pyroblast and fireball, and other nasty random combos. Have the feeling that mage is going to be cancer this expansion.
Turn 7 : Nothing, as it would be pointless to further develop your board since Priest will be sending all your minions back to your deck with Psychic Scream.
Playable. Good stats, good battlecry for the class, elemental tag for mages... it looks very good. But, will it this 4 mana minion fit into a mage deck? Folks will try, I will try but IDK.
wow, crazy good card. could easily have one statpoint less and would still be very playable in the right deck.
i especially like, that this works on "cards", not just spells. if you bounced a minion, it would probably count as a new card that didn't start in your deck, right? i mean, i highly doubt the game keeps track of what minions startet in your deck. that would mean, you could combo this with a brewmaster and the brewmaster would kinda be for free. maybe not a viable combo on it's own, but something to keep in mind with this effect.
i'm pretty sure this card will find some place in the meta. i can imagine midrange elemental mages, even without the DK could work with this.

So it's the spell that costs two less? I thought it was the 4/5...
As it's been explained already, once this is played it's any card that didn't start in your deck that costs two less. So the discount may apply to minions, too... but Leyline Manipulator did start in your deck and won't cost less.
That is, unless (maybe) if you managed to get an extra copy, besides those you had when you started the game. Say you're playing a mirror, and your opponent plays their Leyline Manipulator when you have Frozen Clone up. TBH don't know if the game will distinguish between your original copies and the extra one(s). If it does, you might get the discount on the latter.
yeti + mana discount + elemental + 4 atk (good against priest)
This will be staple in all mage deck
Nice buff to one of the dumbest and most annoying decks in HS history: OTK Quest Mage.
I think there are some really stupid buffs to existing bad mechanics in this expansion, I'm slightly worried about the future of HS.

This card does seem really strong.
and its and elemental.
def will see some play!

Release the Kraken!
Yes, I love this card!
This will really help the elemental mage archetype. Most likely can see play outside of that archetype too.
this is crazy... should have been a 4/4, maybe even a 3/4
English isn't my first language, so please excuse any mistakes.
Well with this card you don't even need the quest to play the exodia combo. Just discount both sorcerers after simulacrum.

cant wait to try combo with Brann in Wild.. discount all cards from cabalist tome etc for 4...
Should have played around 3 mana Flamestrike...
The hard part will be finding a spot for it, mage already has water elemental and steam surger as 4 drop elementals.
obviously there's the new spellstone too.

Yeah, Quest/Elemental is definitely a thing. This also works well with Pyros.
