Constructed: Fills a niche that Priest needs (cheap AOE). Does nasty things to Token Druid and Pirate Warrior and Token Shaman but also enables Northshire Cleric + Circle of Healing shenanigans. I think it will see play.
Arena: For Priest, the Lifesteal is redundant with your hero power. Whirlwind is rated 45 ("below average" on HearthArena; this costs one more and is in a class with less synergy. Therefore, I predict this will fall firmly into the "below average" to "bad" range on HearthArena.
Considering Priest has never had a 1-damage ping until now, this is actually pretty exciting. I'm still not sure though that it's going to get run in anything other than Reno/Kazakus Priest. Arcane Explosion isn't good enough, and I don't feel like this will be extremely useful either in most situation. Pirate Warrior consumes this pretty easily, and Frothing Berserker loves this card. Token Shaman, which is currently the best performing aggro deck, carries mostly 2-3 health minions with their Totems and Fire Fly. I just don't see it.
finally priest gets a good aoe spell, this card is amazing for the same reason maelstrom portal was amazing, but it also heals too, has synergy etc. this is going to be a staple in most if not all priest decks unless the game shifts to only late game decks, which we know isnt going to happen
strong in defensive tempo but I dont think it will be good.
Really? When we get free from insane aggro decks in ladder? Any card good vs aggro is easy to say will see play, like the shaman portal this card will be stable in all priest decks, cut x2 Holy Nova and put Thalnos in the build.
I actually agree with b1ak1ce. It won't be so meta-defining. Not in this meta anyway.
Ungoro has already started establishing that slower pace with fewer, but bulkier minions on board instead of fast paced aggro or zoo. This card will only work against certain matchups and because of it, will end up being cut out of a LOT of decks in favor of other methods of healing.
In a more aggresive zoo meta though this would see a ton of play, and I will admit this is a great Lyra the Sunshard buff
Makes blood mage thalnos a real option for priests and gives them another way to contest the board early. Could clear the way for a more tempo oriented priest. I think they need more spell power sources to make this anything close to maelstrom portal so it's not THAT crazy good.
It's alright, I just don't see any great synergies for it with the current cards we have. It really wants Spell Damage or cards that gets buffs when your hero is healed, and there are few (good) cards like that at the moment. The best synergy is probably Acolyte of Pain right now.
Its a 2 mana AOE that also gives you life. This card is going to be strong in priest. Will definitely be really good in arena and I do think it will be played in constructed.
Actually this is good to dealt with Pirate Warrior and other aggro decks Priest didn't have an early board clear so it was a huge problem for the class
I fail to see how this card will work as well as many suggest. It won't give us that board control we need and all combos with it are too expensive to be effective.
Thalnos + This. Too unreliable and 4 mana?4 mana to deal 2 damage on board and heal like.. 8? And burn two cards while at it.
Northshire+This+circle
A three card combo? Which not only is bad but also, if you kill the opponents minions, you won't get card draw, and if they do survive, you get card draw but lost the board.
Priests need more ways to deal with aggro? I'm not massively convinced. You'd need to exactly draw Thalnos for this card to be impactful against token druid. Against pirate warrior isn't potion of madness enough to give you the tempo you need? I'm thinking if it's really aggressive meta you'd run this of course, otherwise you wouldn't.
It's a 2 mana Arcane Explosion that also hits your own stuff. Aggro decks are not burn-based anymore, so the heal is not valuable at all. Against something like burn mage you'd get 5-7 healing out of this, while you hit your own board and make it easier for them to clear. Priest of the Feast is much better at healing and Potion of Madness is much better at beating aggro, because it's cheaper and actually kills two minions most of the time.
Spelldamage doesn't matter, because we don't have good Spelldamage minions outside of Thalnos.
This card is no Maelstrom Portal, but a cheap AoE is definitely something priest can use. The real question will be how many 1-health minions we'll need to deal with in the new meta. Priest doesn't have spellpower totem like shaman, and it doesn't really have a good way to ping off a 2-health minion that survives this spell, so it might not get played at all... or it could be one of the most important cards in a priest deck. It entirely depends on the meta.
EDIT: Wait, it hits your own stuff? Okay, this card is worse than I thought... bleh.
Priest already has wild pyromancer which is a more versatile card than this. It also has a number of other decent healing cards that don't depend on you or your opponent having a board.

Common. Cheap. Board clear. Healing. Scales extremely well with spell damage.
Seems really good to me.

Really strong card, sometimes for priest it's better being capable of damaging your own minions.
Only downside it instakills Wild Pyromancer
Top deck is cheat

Very versatile card .Not only early board clear but also can synergy with Northshire + CoH when you need draw for combo deck

Great card to get from Lyra the sunshard.

Nice combo with Acolyte of Pain. Priest card draw problems over?

Hm, 4 minions + 2x Evolved Kobold, Embrace the Shadow and this... What a glorious way to die, only for 2 mana reduction or 2 coins. Exciting!
1 out of 5 stars.

Oh jeez, this is strictly better than Arcane Explosion... is what I would say if the game didn't already have Maelstrom Portal.
