Not sure if relevant, but Wild Pyro also has some synergy with this (as well as with most of the other synergistic cards that have been mentioned). Seems like it might be sligthly easier getting combo priest draw engine running?
Just an afterthought, really. The main purpose might still be stopping aggro flat. Two of these and two Potions of Madness might just do it.
lol everybody goes crazy about a terribly worse mealstrom portal for Priest...Priest is already bad because it has to many situational cards. Why would a situational bad card be a decent add to the priest list? Priest needs minions he can play on curve not this.
I voted meta-defining as the low cost gives priest a chance against all these aggressive decks while it will certainly help a lot with card draw(Acolyte of Pain anyone?) . I can see Wild Pyromancer being replaced in priest decks or used along with it.

how the hell is this "situational?" I don't think it means what you think it means.
IMO it's not as good as people think. It is pretty much arcane explosion, which is not good enough to see any play. The healing effect is pretty much irrelevant in the early stages. To make this card work you need spell damage. Thalnos is 1 card, but lets remember most priest spells are not affected by spell damage, priest is not a mage, not a shaman, so is it actually worth to waste card space to put this kind of cards? Besides there are better alternatives than this card, like potion of madness. Won't see play, you need to have a deck filled with spell damage minions to make this card viable.
People are comparing it to Maelstrom Portal, and i personally don't even think they're in the same league.
This suffers from the same thing that most board clears does. It is only strong in very specific situations. In most matchups except for those against heavy aggro decks, then it's litterally a 2 mana Whirlwind. Without the heavy synergy cards that Warrior have. Furthermore Priests dosen't really have spell damage synergies.
I rate this as bad. I honestly don't believe this is as strong as people say. Unless priest gets some decent cards that synergizes with this.

I want a new title, but Flux won't let me have one,
I don't know why people are so excited about this overcosted Whirlwind you are paying 2 mana for it with some life gain.
works well with spell power though so it might not be hopeless, also probably better in priest since cleric is a card..
but it's not that great really.. according to the poll votes and first comments it's overestimated its not better than arcane explosion and obviously not better than holy nova..
it's good against 1 HP boars which are rare and priest don't have easy acess to spell power, playing pyro is better.

@thisotherguytox exactly my point
Pryo (+ spell) is two cards. This is one card, and has synergy with many cards in Priest' arsenal.

many? northshire and acolyte of pain that's it.. whirlwind isn't played in any warrior deck ATM it was played cause it was really good with patrons and then on OTK it would be comboed with other WW effects aswell and it had a lot of applications in that deck on this case it does 1 damage to enemy board which isn't that good...
the reason maelstorm portal is good is cause shaman has normally a board that can trade into stuff and then use the 1 damage AOE, damaging your minions makes the trades a lot shittier to top it off shaman also have sort of realiable acess to spell power and it also on top of that summons a 1 cost minion thus making the AOE effect by itself look even less expensive.
mage has a card that deal 1 dmg to all enemy minions at 3 mana that's never used in current meta.
it's decent with spell damage I underestimated reno back then cause I thought he was much of a tempo loss and making your deck bad but.. I really think this card needs further synergy to work..

1 Whirlwind is standard in every taunt warrior.....
I'm not a shaman player but it seems to me that the decks that can afford to run 1 or 2 Lightning Storms would rather run that. And the decks that can afford to run more than Lightning Storm would rather run Elemental Destruction. Not sure that there's room for this one.
I don't get this card. It's in line with other reasonable arena cards that see no constructed play, but 1 damage has never been worth it unless you're also activating your own enrage effects.
Aggro Shaman will not run this, why would they waste 2 mana on just dealing damage to minions (that might not even be there - there's likely only 1 on t2 and that is what Lightning Bolt can deal with much better) and getting a random 1-drop rather than simply dropping a Totem Golem or a Flametongue?
This might help Midrange Shaman but as this really only targets Zoo I don't think this will see much play. A bit niche.

You can't compare this spell to other class card spells and say, "since Arcane Explosion isn't being run, this card won't be run either," because the way other classes and Priest works are very different, and the cards it has access to are different.
Yes, many. Mana Geode, Lightwarden, Acolyte of Pain, Northshire Cleric, and in wild Light of the Naaru and Holy Champion are all potential cards that could see play because of this (because Priest didn't previously have an easy way to deal 1 damage to his own minions, outside of Pyro + spell which is clunky and anti-tempo). You can talk all you want about how "mana geode is garbage, and so this spell won't see play," but cards like that are only "garbage and won't/don't see play" because they don't currently have good synergy. Holy Nova is an okay card, but it suffers from what almost every good Priest spell suffers from - its cost. Priest has wanted cheap AOE for basically forever, and this - a single card, unlike Pyro + spell - does just that. 2 mana deal 1 damage AOE and heal "but it's just 1 damage, who cares," sure it might not matter on turn 2, but cheap spells that can heal in the mid to late game are going to be quite powerful.

Hold the phone. Not that this really has a significant impact on the cards worth mind you, but how does it actually interact with Prophet Valen? Valen doubles damage, so 2 damage to all, then the healing becomes 2 for each minion hit, then does it double that healing effect seprately? Do you see what I'm saying? The healing is based on damage dealt, valen doubles healing effects, so if the damage is calculated, then the healing effect triggers it would double that number right?
Again, this doesn't make or break the card, just curious. Obviously we'll find out in August.
Mana geode is a bad card not cause you can't damage it it's not hard to damage it it's cause you need to specifically heal the card itself to get benefit you need to put too much resource for a 2/2, drawing a card is better than a 2/2 and works with healing in general that's why northshire cleric is played but mana geode isn't..
Still think this card is overrated it has it's uses but ultimately it's not OP it might be decent in some situations might be included if there are more cheap/good spell damage cards that priest wants to run, and it also means priest needs actual damaging spells too..
coulld see it in a combo deck with velen I will give it that, it's also a card you can combo with lyra I guess.
Well look I didn't say, "this card is meta defining! Mana Geode is INSANEEEEEEE!!!!!" All I said was this card is pretty good and has potential synergy with current Priest cards. Mana Geode (and cards like it) are bad because Priest didn't have a way to activate the ability. Your opponent would simply ignore the threat until it could be removed with a spell or weapon, making it a vanilla boring crap card. This card opens up some possibilities.

To those who don't seek infinite value cards and one-card miracles:
Being a Priest main, I think this is a great card on a verge of meta-defining. It allows for early plays with smaller minions and for occasional board-clears. Comparisons to other-class cards like Whirlwind, Maelstrom Portal, Arcane Explosion are incorrect as they reside in other classes. Priests are generally ok with more protracted gameplan so manacost comparison is incorrect too. For one, as others might have mentioned above, this card makes LightwardenCircle of Healing combo easier to pull off than with Wild Pyromancer while possibly being more useful (or even being run alongside with it).

"Infinite" doen't mean "big" - it can be small and have no end.
Arguably the best card revealed imo. It is initially underwhelming, but once you evaluate it while taking into consideration wild pyromancer is often ran and maelstrom sees play. This card just makes sense. Combo it with thalnos and you have a better holy nova that heals you for more and draws a card with only 4 mana. I think this card is an auto include. Especially with circle combos, lyra synergy, radiant synergy. Many benefits over pyro.
This card is hard for be to rate, but I think ultimately it will be bad, though not by much. Sure its ok aganist pirate warrior, but almost all other decks use minions that have more than one health. This card is garbage aganist the mage, pally, and rogue decks that have lately been more popular than pirate warrior. Even token shaman tends to have minions that have at least two health. One reason maelstorm portal is so used is shaman had ready access to spell damage totems and minions, and getting a 1 cost minion is arguably better that the amount of healing this card will likely give you. For comparison this card would have to heal you for 5 health to be worth the amount of a 1 cost minion. Maybe priest will get some more spell damage options, but for now I do not think this card will quite cut it.
TC, you should mention that lifesteal works with spell damage in your original post. As worded currently, it seems like you would need creatures to get the healing (which made little sense so I went digging to figure it out).
