One game I lost by 1 dmg against mage because he topdecked flamestrike and in one game I got wrecked by an aggro warrior. other than that, smooth sailing to my first 12 win arena run :)
Wasn't expecting it at all with my lack of early game removal. The 3 Hexes were great and the Stormwind Champion was definitely MVP, buffing my totems and such. The Dust Devil was surprisingly useful and the Lightning Storms surprisingly not. Only card draw was a single Cult Master but somehow that was enough, and I got good use out of him a few times. Aside from that, I just had a really great mana curve on my minions. Every game was pretty much just keeping even on board control til I took the lead, and I rarely ever lost it.
My closest game was against a lock who managed to Power Overwhelming a minion into my Fen Creeper, and then Void Terrored it. Also, I probably would've been rushed down in a game or 2 if it weren't for my 2 taunts.
Made screenshot yesterday before finishing. Ended up losing another one and went 12-2. Was very happy with the deck. The card draw led to many situations where I had a full board of minions with 5+ cards in my hand when my opponent's board was empty. One of my losses was to a very strong zoo deck that deserved the win. the second to a mage that started with Wyrm, then went Wyrm -> Coin -> Arcane Missiles on my 2 drop, then went Wyrm -> Frostbolt on my 3 drop. I conceded on turn 3. The other matches were pretty onesided.
Had another one. Mage this time. Almost level 60 with mage, then I won't pick it anymore :) but for now I enjoy the extra gold that picking mage brings you.
This was pretty broken with the 3 fireballs in there and a very solid array of creatures.
First 12 win arena run for me, quite a few matches ended up being a topdeck win. There aren't very many combos in the deck, just played a holdout style until the big minions started coming in, trying to keep control of the board when I could. MVP cards included raging worgen, frost/water eles, stampeding kodos and of course the double pyros. Special mention for faceless manipulator, that thing won me 3 or 4 of my games, copying a huge taunt.
Reward ended up being a gold scavenging hyena, 250ish gold and 2 packs.
Just got my first 12 win :D was convinced it would never happen as I very often got between 4-7 wins easily but never really above that (except a few times to 9 wins).. but when I broke it I did it bigtime! 12-0 the dream :D
Hard to say what the mvp's were.. all the cards were useful.. if I'd had to pick a few though, Leeroy + panda clinched me games I shouldn't have won & gurubashi wrecked faces.. Raid leader got me suprising value many times..
& I managed to clinch the last win with the Leeroy + faceless manipulator combo.. I was winning it beforehand & that just sealed the deal. As far as 12-0.. Luck was on my side.. 1 shammy I beat when he had a full board & couldn't topdeck a taunt or a heal or a bloodlust.. and I managed to kill him exactly.. faced so many mages...
Unfortunately, I always forget how to take screenshots, so I don't have proof to back up any of my 12 wins. But, assuming I'm telling the truth, Warsong Commander was somewhat of an MVP on the above run. She wasn't the best card in the deck necessarily, but she often let me push for damage when it counted, and turn 6 Warsong + Cobra makes for pretty effective removal.
Wish I'd recorded more of my decklists, I now have three 12 win arenas with Priest - one of which I feel could have easily gone 12-0 had I actually thought through my moves a bit more carefully in the one game I lost with it. While I can't remember any of the decks entirely, the MVPs of pretty much every single one of them were Northshire Cleric and Power Word: Shield. I'd often make it to turn 7-8 with a nearly-full hand and a scary board against an opponent who only had about 5 cards total between the two. Even Magi are easily defeated with that kind of card advantage. :P
This deck almost seemed unfair. I managed a turn 7 Archmage Antonidas + Coin + Mirror Image in one game, and in another a turn 6 Sorcerer's Apprentice into turn 7 Archmage Antonidas + Mirror Image + Ice Lance (on his already frozen hero from a Water Elemental). Yet, those were the only 2 games where Archmage Antonidas was useful. The other games I just won by controlling the board long enough to wipe it to smithereens with Flamestrike, or freeze it forever and go for the kill. The Water Elementals got so many 2-for-1 trades, as well as a bunch of key freezes on big minions, as I had no Fireball or Polymorph for single target removal. Only had 2 close games that came down to topdecking.
@andrew - do you have a link to your arena draft? It'd be interesting to see your rationale in picking your deck. Or to anyone else who has posted a deck here
Archmage Antonidas was my last card, so none of the other choices were attempts to synergize with him.
The 2nd and 3rd Flamestrikes were both the only good card in that set of 3... I normally wouldn't grab more than 2 of them.
I grabbed the Ice Lance early on, again in a set where I hated all the cards... I was lucky to get most of the frost synergy after it.
I also remember midway through the draft realizing that my early game sucked, which is why I ended up grabbing Doomsayer (and then he only ended up killing I believe 1 or 2 minions in total all arena run long lol).
Been a long time since I went 12, but this mage pulled through for me. Win 12 was a nail biter though...opponent got me to 1 health. His Deathwing really swung the game but not enough.
After taking a few days off in a leave of frustration... this game just can't keep me away. Then this happened.
Am not sure how to post decklists on here all pretty-like like you guys do, will be more than happy to link it, but here's the photo, yay! Not pictured are the abundance of late-game: Blzzard, 2x Boulderfist Ogre, Stormwind Champion, Ravenholdt Assassin, and Flamestrike. There were 2 Dark Iron Dwarves, Mana Wyrms, and Frostbolts. (Hard to see.) It played about like you'd expect Mage decks to play. Wrestle for the board early on, then let the Ogres/Stormwind take over before finishing off with a big burst of damage. Didn't expect it to do too well, especially with a fantastic epic pick of Mountain Giant/Crab/Spellbender, but it just goes to show that it's the commons that make the deck. ;)
I'd like to thank Pilleri for his support. Your advice helped out a whole lot, and congrats on 12-0!

Even got an Edwin in my pack :)
12-0 with shaman.

12-run with Shaman.
MvP: Bloodlust, let me push for a win several times.
2nd MvP: Feral Spirits, helped me make a decent board on two occasions where Mages had Flamestriked twice in a row.

Current Decks: Everfree (Ramp Druid), Nameless One (Control/Burn Priest), Discord (Thief Priest), Provost's Dogs (Aggro Rogue), Randar (Random Hunter), Cherubim (Zoo Priest)
thx for the play by play in drafting
Just got my 2nd 12-0 for this thread, this time with mage.

No I don't, but a few things I remember...

haha... hey that helps. I was curious how the ice lance and archmage played into your rationale.
Well, yesterday and today, I got 12-2 Arenas with Shaman :)
The first deck: I was abusing a lot of the buff effects of Raid Leader and Flametongue Totem, and the tokens from Violet Teacher and Silver Hand Knight for favorable exchanges.
The second deck: Is abusing from removal: Fire Elemental, Rockbiter Weapon, Earth Shock, Rockbiter Weapon, etc. and trying to buff the Unbound Elemental.
I have the stats of this arenas on Arena Mastery: (Buff Shaman) http://arenamastery.com/arena.php?arena=271305; (Removal Shaman) http://arenamastery.com/arena.php?arena=273332
HE HAS Leper GnomeS!!!

This is the first time I've made it to 12 wins, yay.
I only grabbed 4 of the Ironbark Protectors I should have grabbed the fifth too lol. http://www.arenavalue.com/s/yzEOQb
I had great early game, which transitioned into taunts, card draw, and even bigger taunts.
I went 12-1, lost to a Mage that had a lot of fireballs to kill the 8/8s.
Fabulous Drag Queen Gaymer <3
Had really NO IDEA this deck would've gone 12 wins, no fire elementals/wolves/unbound
Won every single match with some kind of burst whether it was tokens+bloodlust, questing+windfury or tokens+flametong

150th recorded Arena run into arenamastery.com. First time ever 12-0 result!
The deck was ridiculously good. The only time I was even close to losing was when I got a disconnect mid-game. Won even that game after the reconnect.
Missing from the image:
1x Stranglethorn Tiger
1x Venture Co. Mercenary
1x Boulderfist Ogre
1x Avenging Wrath
2x War Golem
1x Sea Giant
MVPs of the deck:
1) Stranglethorn Tiger for lethal
2) Equality + Consecration or Avenging Wrath for lethal
3) 2x War Golem for lethal
Shaman 12-win, great curve, decent amount of removal and some solid end-game.
Really well-balanced deck, would probably have gone 12-0 if I had a Lightning Storm, but I guess you can't have it all ;)
After taking a few days off in a leave of frustration... this game just can't keep me away. Then this happened.
