    ALWAYS DUST nerfed cards !

Worst case: you just craft them back with no loss whatsoever .

Odd question: Can I disenchant (which I Foolishly already did), then re-enchant now, then die-enchant tomorrow with no dust loss (assuming the disenchant value will still be full then?)... Thanks. Ha

Man. I won an Arena game that made me so salty....

T1 opponent passes, I play initiate
he plays hydrologist, I coin Fledgling
he adapts the hydrologist for plants, plays his secret, Blessing of Wisdom on fledgling...
so I trade the Init to buff Fledgling, hit face, Windfury, hit face, +1/+1
he doesn't have an answer, hit face, Hexproof, hit face, +3 health
he topdecks Aldor to put a stop to this and I just Kooky Chemist for lethal

...good to get a win, but maybe Kripp and I can join forces getting this crap out of Arena lol

posted a message on Arena top 100 Motivation Thread

After last month I had a pretty solid winrate, I'd love to see if I can make the top 100... So. With the only rule being "I'm not going to eyeball other players with high winrates (outside of fellow Hearthpwn users, because good luck to you!) , is there anything I should know before jumping in? Whether it's actually serious advice or whether you care about updates or a way to make the push even more fun, I'm looking forward to playing some Arena with you fellow grinders. :)

posted a message on Shaman players, what cards make you want to kill yourselves?

The main one that comes to mind from back in the day is Flamewaker. Such a powerful early game card, barely out of the range of my 3 damage lightning bolt :(

Outside of The Caverns Below or Undertaker or other garbage

Tried this deck and got a cool science experiment off... Apparently Tortollan Primalist does not trigger Medivh!!
Oh well, poor Druid got his Warden Mind Controlled either way. :)

Deck's a whole lot of fun to play. Thanks for creating and thanks for upvoting!

posted a message on Discuss the Nerf - Spirit Claws

Perfect nerf. Going from 1 mana to 2 is a big deal in Shaman, even so much more than other classes...

In "classic" Midrange Shaman, one-drops are VERY powerful, because in the late game you can have Overload later on in the game and have 4 mana on turn 7. So it's really nice to fit in your little 1-drop nicely on top of your 3 mana spell and still have a really powerful turn. Played a lot of Rockbiters that way as well as Claws, and losing out on that versatility is quite a nerf.

But there were WAY too many games where in the first 3 turns, one player would roll a Totem and have that 25% chance to clear a Trogg or combo with another card to clear a Totem Golem for a ridiculous tempo advantage, or they'd roll a SP Totem to clear YOUR trogg and then you'd roll a SP Totem and clear THEIR totem and... That's the kind of RNG people were really upset about with Yogg-Saron and I'm surprised it wasn't such a big deal here...

But the 1/3 weapon with 3/3 upside for 2 mana really does sound about right. Whether or not it's still a playable card (in non-Jade decks it looks MUCH better than Jade Claws) may depend on the meta though, SP Claws was clutch for taking out Buccaneers, and if the Pirate package falls by the wayside I'm not totally sure how good it'll be with fewer one-drops to take down.

I've got to say... As a seven year card game vet... I've never seen a time where people were satisfied with the meta.
And I certainly have seen companies run card games worse than Blizzard has.

I'd love to tell people to remember this day. Because yes, these are the dark days of Hearthstone, we mostly can agree.
And when we gripe about something minor, we can go back to this. And respect the days when we have... say, a Patron meta again.

People would satisfy or at least less complain when Aggro decks can stay away from the Tier-1 decks, which never has happened in the history of Hearthstone.
I really do hope that's the case someday, but it would take a fundamental change in Hearthstone.

Due to the attacker dictating the trades and no real way for the opponent to be active during your turn, the attacker always has the advantage, which gives such a big boost to having the first minion out. Not to mention playing something like the 11 one-drop Zoo that was top-tier as long as it was. Plus, you rarely just mulliganned your Holy Novas away to get your early game just to draw Kabal Songstealer instead. You get consistent opening hands playing Aggro and stuff like "just Living Roots away the Small-Time, you'll be fine" simply isn't enough.

On top of the common complaint of "the ladder being the way it is dictates the importance of fast games!"

It's such an annoying part of the game. Often people will say "aggro should be a part of the game!" but many of our issues with pirate warrior come straight from boredom of the latest aggro deck that plays the same way dominating the ladder.

There was still aggro and a lot of problem cards during Patron "format" as well (Combo Druid. Urgh.) (Oh and Zoo too) and as much as people loathed seeing "Everyone! Get in here!" dominate the tournament scene and Youtube highlights back then, it took a lot of skill and patience for ladder climbing and was actually fun to play against... On top of many other relevant decks doing things besides basic full control/curvestone/punch face strategies. So I really feel bad in hindsight not enjoying the game more then as HS was arguably at it's peak (post-Beta) and use this as fuel to enjoy it then..

Personal salt: We just nerfed a 10 mana card for being too good and 'making Hearthstone a joke". 10 mana. Fun card. -_-

posted a message on BGH should not have been nerfed.
    Quote from Darknesspyre >>

To be fair to the OP, the main reason why people got a bit pissed about the BGH nerf was because it got nerfed around the same time Blizzard released the 4 mana 7/7 shaman card. However I do believe it did need to be nerfed because at one point any minion which was 7 attack or more was considered trash unless they did something immediately on the board because they would just get blown away by " I got the beast in my sights." When GVG cards were being reviewed before they were released, streamers actually said that Troggzor the Earthinator was good and Dr Boom "Would not see any play" just because Dr boom was a 7/7 and Troggzor was a 6/6 so it avoided getting BGH' ed. Although in my opinion I actually think that BGH should cost 4 mana, 5 in my opinion is overcosted because nobody wants to pay 5 mana for a 4/2.

Okay I feel dumb haha. I TOTALLY forgot about Flamewreathed, guess I'm so used to playing against Jade Shaman after it fell out of favor of midrange lists due to the overload. Those things got annoying quick, but they're usually the main threats in Aggro Shaman these days.

Always thought the stat distribution was perfect, especially in that meta where he dies to Shielded Minibots. Nowadays the vanilla 4/2 still dies too easily to be a solid 3-drop, but functions perfectly as a satisfying anti-Shaman tech that can blast Flamewreathed and put a strong body on the board (but still merely dies to weak Jade Golems or Claws)

I've always been of the opinion of "BGH is largely balanced because class removal is better than just being able to take out 7-drops", and most 6+ mana cards only see play when they're gamebreaking anyway. The Dr. Boom example is a very good one, people thought Troggzor was better just because it dodged BGH, but that wasn't the case at all as you don't want a reactive card that late. For the 7 mana he simply didn't do enough consistently enough, while Boom always brought you something good. That's the problem with most 6+ mana cards, they've gotta be gamebreakingly powerful to justify their mana cost. Most of them aren't, especially when standalone 1-drops dictating tempo means so much while they sit in your hand for all those turns...

posted a message on Balance patches every 2-3 weeks? Kripp's video.

Was just talking this over with someone as we were looking over the old Archon Team League Championship which people thought was so much fun to watch. We had Patron Warrior. Control Warrior. Handlock. Zoo. Midrange Hunter. Freeze Mage. Combo Druid (ugh). Some symblance of Miracle Rogue. Midrange Paladin... and all these archetypes did what they do and fit what they do better. That's what made that whole tournament so interesting and how many of us miss that meta.

Biggest issue with this meta is that even though you COULD list 8-9 competitive decks, it's either Pirate Something which just wants to hit face over and over, Reno Something that's often an inconsistent mess with some powerful effects, and Jade Druid/Dragon Priest and some Midrange Shaman lists that just play Curvestone and clear the board, with a Rogue here and there that's playing Miracle that we've seen for the last four years.

I hope we remember these days as the dark days of Hearthstone and can go into the future and remember this and don't take what we have for granted then... And hope Blizzard really thinks harder about the nerfs than they have in the past.

posted a message on Blizzard don't want to change this meta because the revenue is not threatened

I wonder about that, though. As a casual MTG/competitive YGO/frustrated HS player, I look at the relatively budget-friendly Pirate meta (and the possibly cheaper Jade meta that people are speculating on) and see that the best deck is one I can play inexpensively, so there's no real incentive to spend money on the game. Enough Arena runs/pack openings (though that 1600 dust is a real grind!) is a Patches and the rest of the deck is really cheap. As a guy who bought the pre-order, I kinda regret it and will consider that next expansion.

With the other games, they do have the set banlist, but often they're so skilled at making cards more powerful than those in the last set (powercreep) and that's why packs fly off the shelves. That's why the allure of change that comes in card games helps those games out while we Hearthstone players are so upset as the latest aggro deck feels so much like all the aggro garbage they've faced in the past.

So much of the issue with Mean Streets isn't Kazakus and Patches as much as it's that not many other cards in the set are competitively viable. Some found their way into being filler techs (or even power plays) in Reno lists, some are interesting cards to search off of Discover mechanics, some are fun cards to toy around with, and those are great! We need those in the game. But at the current moment it feels like 1800 dust is all you really need from this set if you only care about playing the best deck and reaching Legend, while avoiding the fluff that loses to that deck on ladder. And that's a bad precedent to set for the next set coming up.

They were auto-include one-ofs to tech against the meta, though. Nowadays in this pirate meta it would have fallen by the wayside, and that's okay
