The problem with Even Priest is the same as with any even deck. Unless your hero power is something you want to use on turn 1 then it's not a good deck.
The entire point of limiting yourself to playing onnly half a deck is because of the consistency addeed by always having access to a 1-drop (or draw in Warlock's case)
Even Rogue doesn'T work that well for this very reason. It's cool and all to have a turn 1 dagger...but in the following turns weaving in a hero power just gives much less value.
Even decks are good because their HP allows them to proactively close mana gaps. Priest Hero Power is only proactive when combined with the 2 auchenai cards, which just isn#t enough.
I love it when people think they are the smartest in the world and without any evidence claim they can unequivocally deny the power level of decks they have never played.
No one is claiming these even decks are tier 1, or that they are the strongest deck in the meta. But let me just point out the ridiculousness of the arguments.
The first basic argument goes like this:
1. Fact - Not doing something on turn 1 is bad
2. Fact - Priest Hero Power is worthless turn 1
3. Conclusion - Even priests will always be bad decks
The second basic argument is like this:
1. Fact - there are good odd cards for priest
2. Fact - Even decks can't play these good cards
3. Conclusion - Even priests will always be bad decks
In both these cases, the conclusions can not logically be drawn from the premises. The above facts are challenges to building an effective even priest, and certainly they are not trivial, however they will never preclude the possibility in and of themselves.
Now let me provide a counter argument. My Genn Combo Control Deck wins more games than it looses (if played correctly). Now the question of whether the deck could be improved by cutting Genn and perhaps working in some select odd cards has actually be explored, and truth be told, I found it to be worse. Being able to use the 1 mana restore 2 health hero power for either damage or to heal a minion or face in the mid and initial late game has won me countless games. Also, the style of the deck does not require playing 1 drops even when odd cards are allowed as the other cards in the deck lean more to control and not tempo anyway. The deck does not lack for board control tools and very consistently achieves one of its 2 win conditions (hitting face with a buffed dude, or chipping away the opponent's health total with Anduin). Finally people tend to over estimate the opportunity cost of including Genn in a deck. If a deck can meet all its basic needs without using odd cards (a task that will never be easier than the current max card meta) than the opportunity cost of Genn, actually turns negative (as the discount to the hero power will always outweigh the negative of Genn's slight understatted body).
Now in my book a deck that wins more than it loses and consistently achieves its win conditions meets the qualifications of a "good" deck.
Kindly learn logic and humility please. They will help you go farther in life.
My feeling here is also that i loose most games due to mistakes or bad decisions. the deck feels like 1-2 cards picked right and it´s well playable in ladder. I have an even pala and odd mage that i am shure they are realy good as well as i know i could play a hunter to climb but still try to make this going .... It´s more fun ;-).
As said if i can manage over 50% at R5 all is good for me. The last thing i will do is Copy&Past a T1 netdeck. It´s totaly unsatisfying even it it 60+% winrate. I will play somethign own to beat that deck.

I agree with the criteria you mentioned, but the above is true only in Standard, where weapon buff is very limited. In Wild, the deck is not top tier, but perfectly viable.
Why? Because synergy with HP is also an important factor. It's not just about filling the curve.
I mean, Even Paladin fulfills the criteria you mentioned, but is not popular in Wild meta because its synergy is sub-par if compared with other decks.
Now, about Priest, yes, it completely wastes turn 1, but the case of the Auchenai cards shows that an inherently poor Tempo HP can be the basis for efficient synergies, if given proper consistency.
Again, Wild: Spawn of Shadows, Holy Champion. The deck may not be competitive for Wild still, but you get the point.
I do agree that all the synergy and consistency i am talking about is quite poor for current Standard Even Priest. But not hopeless for the future, release after release.
The dam thing is i have the feeling that Anduin is that small piece in my version to win all those close losses... And i dislike crafting a rotating card now ....
My shadow-madness, divine spirit and topsy turvy REALLY like your Mosh'ogg Enforcer. lol, but I would need my Mass Dispel if you played The Lady in White.
Heh! Yeah Mosh'ogg Enforcer becomes a BEAST after Lady in White works her magic on him.
I think I won a game by using like 4 Mass Dispels throughout (I discovered a couple with Shadow Visions). I think it was against Paladin or some other buff deck.
Yeah Anduin really lost a lot of his power once Raza was nerfed. That being said I don't think that he is absolutely necessary in an Even Priest deck and there are definitely better cards to craft now.
I know it sounds like I was upset, but it was more of staunch indignancy. Anyway. I find it amusing to point out when people attempt to seem intelligent while coming across as quite a bit less so.

Your Even Priest is definitely better than mine. Mine is more based around Lady in White but is just for fun.

Ooh, I like that with Mosh'Ogg Enforcer. Might have to tinker with a similar concept.

Ah, I see I was not the only one with an even Princess Talanji deck, lol. Today I crafted her and made this deck:
never even thought about wild, talanji seems a lot better in there :)
Why u hav to be mad? is only card gaem.
Needs some Snowflipper Penguins
Signed by yours truly, the SMORC King
King Krush
I wish something like this could work but without enough card draw, the deck won't be able to do the cool things it has the cards for most of the time
This space is intentionally blank.
Yeah there are just more combo's to work with. I added 2 weaponized pinatas and removed the free from amber to have a bit more synergy.
