I'm not sure if Blizzard is trying to push a theme for Druid to have spiders and scarabs, but it just seems lazy. Over half the Druid cards involve summoning a 1/2 poisonous spider or a 1/5 scarab with taunt. What gives? Could they not think of any other interesting or unique mechanics for Druid to have?
I think the insect theme is interesting, I only think all the taunts are really weak, they have high health but all 1 attack, especially in combination with the legendary I think that is relatively weak. Ofcourse druid has some total buffs but taunt druid is not gonna work at this rate.
The day "Choose your secret deathrattle" isn't creative is the day I stop playing card games.
Yes that creative, I agree! I hope they make more cards like that. Right now they have a minion that turns into a spider or scarab, a spell that summons spiders, a spell that summons scarabs, and a DK hero that summons spiders or scarabs.
I liked the animation. But I should agree. This DK herocard is not a winning condition, nor gives infinite value. DK Anduin looks a way more cooler than this one. This card can be combined with Fandral to call 4 minions: scrabs and spiders and Combined Heropower
Am i the only one who thinks that the druid dk hero power is insane? Infinite war axes, or heals on demand. Underrated to say the least.
If people are rational I don't think they are saying the cards bad. It is very good but it is the most generic boring thing ever. When we think death knights we thing something cool and unique. This is just plain lazy design.
Druid has 3 viable archetypes that wont be going away anytime soon.
I dont see why they would try to push a 4th instead of reinforcing at least 2 of the existing ones until next rotation.
Well they made a card that counters Jade Druid. And what new cards are reinforcing token/aggro Druid? Also, why do you think they shouldn't make a new archetype? Because they kind of are with taunt + Hadronox and the spider/scarab thing.
I'm actually kinda excited for Druid. I think that Ultimate Infestation will give birth to a Medivh/Arcane Giant ramp/tempo deck with the DK as another finisher. Spreading Plague + Doomsayer gives Druid some potential hard removal too. There's lot to explore
And the problem there is, Justicar was never played for Druid. So it's hard to imagine how the Druid Dk will be that good when it's arguably worse than Justicar. (For that matter, the bodies the Druid DK battlecry gives are worse than Justicar too depending on situation)

Aggro doesnt need any more support (though I argue the 5 cost summon scarab card will be used in aggro lists after a while), the focus seems to be giving ramp more power and enabling some more midrangey ramp decks to re-emerge.
Don't like it? Stop playing and start working on your own CCG. I mean, if you're so good at this that you are qualified to judge the creativity of others, your game should be smashing.

they're being careful, they don't want to repeat kharazan, boosting the at the time strongest class of the game into even stronger territory, you know how it went: wotg's tier 1 Shamman digievolved into kharazan's almost tier 0 shamman.
And token druid is one of the strongest decks in the game right now, they want to give druid some toys to play with without completely breaking token druid.
also as someone else mentioned, redundancy is key in gameplay, why do you think aggro has worked forever and control only works in some expansions?, blizzard keeps printing weapons and charge minions and refuses to keep printing AoE removal.

There were no aggro weapon or charge minions added in Un'goro

Justicar Trueheart in Rogue?
I usually refrain to complain, but i agree. Excessive lazyness in design and theme.
Especially when the occasion was perfect to go for a Druid of Decay, with Autumn-themed spells and minions.
Heck now all the novelty for druid is summoning scarabs and spiders, and the very same ones too!

It's sad because Jade Druid and Token Druid are already very good decks.

I hope that DK Druid will not be the The Caverns Below of KFT.
