Why would anyone play it against an enemy Edwin instead of Polymorph? They cannot nerf this card without destroying it and knowing hearthstone, the following expansions will get even crazier combos to try to counter this until finally mountain giant gets HoFd next year.
In truth, I have used this vs Edwin VanCleef as he was 12/12 and it would have been easier to deal with 2 other 3 cost minions than 1 with that. I didn't have Polymorph available, and hoping for one in 1 turn is still a RNG wish. If it's turn 8 this has potential with Blast Wave. I do agree with those below. Twinspell is ... a bit overpowered.
Well of course, but I'm saying if it was nerfed to destroy an enemy minion only, you wouldn't put it in a deck for that purpose alone when you have poly available. Edwin is a single card in a single class against which it could be good, so it's very situational.
Ahh! Gotcha. Thanks
every class can handle the first giant before he goes into 4 giants.
mage: Polymorph
rogue: Sap, Walk the Plank
shaman: Hex,
warlock: Voodoo Doll+Mortal Coil
hunter: Deadly Shot, Spider Bomb, Venomizer, Hunter's Mark
warrior: Execute, Shield Slam
priest: Shadow Word: Death
paladin: Equality
neutral cards: Big Game Hunter
druid: the only class who can have a problem with giant turn 3, besides Voodoo Doll uses 2 cards, but can handle if they got some kind of a board, or use Big Game Hunter on turn 5
also you have to remember. in order to play giant on turn 3 and then make it 4 giants you have to do the following things:
1) start with the Coin
2) draw Book of Specters before turn 2
3) draw a Mountain Giant before turn 3
4) not drawing any spells with Book of Specters
5) draw Conjurer's Calling without Book of Specters
6) draw Khadgar
very unlikely
Remove twinspell please
Twinspell is the only problem here.
It's not the only problem. Mountain Giant is a problem here too.
Congrats mages, you are the new Big Priest! Here's a thousand salt threads and death threats directed to you.
This card with mountain giant is the new cubelock...
No doubt in my mind this card is way to good. Even at 5 cost this would still be super powerful effect. 4 mana giant, your opponent doesnt remove it, boom, next turn 2 giants...
i'm predicting this card will get nerfed. Enjoy it while you can.
So cube leaves the game and a card that's stronger and cheaper and can be used twice on a turn mid-game enters. Nice.
could you guys stop crying about a card of a tier 2 deck?
rogues, hunters, warriors, shamans should be nerfed and then maybe you can think about nerfing this card.
Yes, it's stupid that Warrior, Shaman and Hunter still have hero cards that arguably give them a pretty clear advantage over the other classes. As for Rogue, it's probably the most well-rounded class at the moment with adequate removal tools, board presence, value cards, and draw, which is why it's performing well. With that said, this discussion is about getting 24-48 mana worth of fresh minions for 3 mana. That would be broken in ANY class. The only thing that's even remotely close in value is Togwaggle's Zarog's Crown, but you could get 2 Lorewalker Chos as your best options or you could get 2 Deathwings. It's 100% RNG and it requires drawing your sole copy of a Legendary, as well as playing a lackey. Even with Preparation and a Lackey surviving on board, it can only be done at 6 mana. Conjurer's Calling can be played as early as turn 4, then played AGAIN from the same card one turn later, and simply requires a Mountain Giant on board with ANY amount of health remaining. That's why people are "crying" about it.
But every class has it own OP cards. if you dont have op cards you will stay at tier 3.
- can destroy enemy minions
- can replace near death friendly minions for 2 new minions always with 8 attack and 8 health!
- can be cast again this turn or on a different turn!
- destroys midrange and control decks!
- do all these for 3 mana. craft 2 with only 200 dusts! Creative and very balanced.
absolutely broken card. who the hell thought this was a good idea? it's a rare card that has legendary-level effects for 3 mana. and as if that wasn't enough, it's twin-spell too. awful, awful, awful.
This shit seriously needs a nerf, total cancer with big low cost cards like mountain giant
stop crying you rogue player
Broken piece of shit. Especially with Mountain Giant
