I'd actually care about/play this brawl if it had some crazy rules that made people think, or build creative decklists. I'm under no delusions that Blizzard only does the Heroic Brawl to get people to waste part of their stockpiled gold, in order to boost upcoming expansion sales.
The last time they released the Heroic Brawl was Nov. 16th 2016, roughly 2-3 weeks out from MSOG expansion.
Now they release another Heroic Brawl...when? Roughly 2-3 weeks out from the April release date of Un'goro.
Honestly I feel like Blizzard isn't even trying to hide that they want to try and entice players to play this, only to waste their gold. Also, the statistics from the last Brawl do not lie. (See Here) 50% of people will go 2-3 and make nearly nothing from their entry fee. And in the last brawl nearly 77% of all players didn't even break even out of approximately 8,192 participants. While I understand that the point of the Heroic Brawl is competition with high payouts, the point of the "Brawl" feature in general has been "fun". The Heroic Brawl at it's very core inherently conflicts with Blizzard's initial suggestion that Tavern Brawls were supposed to be "wacky and fun".
I'll seriously be displeased with Blizzard if they release another Heroic Brawl two weeks out from another future expansion with no change in ruleset. I actually think the Heroic Brawl alienates a majority of the Hearthstone community, but Blizzard seems to hate taking advice from their cashcow audience and considers themselves infallible. Oh well.
It makes sense to do they Heroic Brawl right before and expansion for two reasons. First they can remove some gold from players that would otherwise spend them on packs. The second reason would be the end of a meta seems like the best time for players to compete with meta decks.
The problems i see with this just being a money grab. You choose to play in Heroic Brawls, yes they cost a lot, but you can win a lot from them as you pointed out. There are plenty of players who just won't compete. The old fall back of Blizzard being a business comes into play here too, when should they try to make money?
I agree that Heroic Brawl doesn't match with Blizzards original idea for brawls, but there have been 2 standard brawls and a wild brawl planned, making heroic brawls a low percentage of overall brawls. Blizzard should be able to change their plans for content. I also don't think that having Heroic Brawls always available would be a good idea, they don't deserve a button and any overpowered cards/decks would need to be instantly nerfed into oblivion.
I actually think blizz deserves a lot of credit recently. They've been paying attention to the community a lot more, and the community has been being way nicer to ben. Give a little credit where credit is due.
ladder- fun - lul
risking 1k makes it even worse, i consider myself a great player but i think i would be glad to break even its just scamaz and im not being jebaited
Got 6 wins with Trump's list. Lost a mirror where he drew better, a Shaman game were we both had all of the answers but his were more efficient, and a Miracle Rogue with a faster start than mine.
So, yeah, ladder.
And everybody copy pastes these decks to find out that, eccept from pirate warrior ofcourse, they are extreme difficult to play correctly.
midrange shaman has no science either
So basically every ladder deck , i feel like this should been wild this time. anyway GL
Nobody cares about heroic tavern brawl. There was a poll. 88% don't care!!!
I don't think you understand statistics on even a basic level
Hot damn, love me some Al'Akir in Midr. Shammy.
