posted a message on Shiftcon West is This Week's Tavern Brawl

So, yesterday my brother said to me: "This Tavern Brawl is so cool! Remember the minion that every turn transformed into a random..." I couldn't let it end the phrase before falling down into an spiral of PTSD, because I already knew what to expect from this shitty brawl.

posted a message on Best decks against face and dragon huntard?

Why does everyone like to hate specific archetypes or classes? I'm tired of people feeling superior than others for playing control decks or the other way around and justify BMing or plainly being rude to people who play aggro or meta decks. And I'm saying that playing aggro from time to time and playing mainly a non-highlander self made Dragon Mage and Plot Twist Tekahn Warlock.

    Alright, some small reviews:

    @Klipce

The Corrupted Nest looks fun but not sure if Bearmantle's HP will make this fight too easy due to essentilly countering the boss one, I guess I'll have to wait to see both characters decks in order to find out. About the cards, I find Dark Eggs too polarising and RNG-dependant and while Cleanser is cool I'm not sure if demon tech is needed in your expansion. Still a good card, near vanilla statline  silence. Dragons of Nightmares is good, nothing to say. Same about Phantom Menace, balance seems okay and it's a good removal. I like Nythendra and it must be fun to wreck it with an Enrage Warrior :P. About the cards, not sure why Onyxian Claws is rogue, it's always cool to have healadin support like champion of the dusk. About Ysera, you should make her deck full of expensive dragons because the HP only pays off if it's 4 mana or more. Verdant Drake is a good idea, I like your cards that give Dream cards. Ysera, on the other hand... It wrecks Zoo because if they have a full board they are screwed, and the card just costs 4. Honestly the effect is original but I don't like it, it could break the game by giving your opponent useless minions. And if you use her you'll most likely be prepared by the effect with Silence and such, while your opponent not.

    @Wailor:

Podling Seedspreader is good, the effect pays off with just one Treant so the statline is justified. I prefer the second broken mystic just like @McF4rtson due to the first one being useless if hero is at full health (so near always useless if played on curve). Change the statline though, too low. Both infiltrator dagger and unbrafen soulharvester are good and original, plus I love 1/3 1 cost minions (yes, I've entered hearthstone after the Tunnel Trogg nightmare, so I don't have PTSD from them). Funnily enough, while you said in the last wing that you were going to make an Ogre magi with a Spell Damage based HP, I was thinking about making an Elemental with a similar effect as your Oger Archmagi's effect. Maybe I'll still do it, I'll see. The minion is good, a better version of Ogre Magi (though I guess that's intended), but old magi was tash anyway so it shouldn't matter. Boss HP is like Kalec's one but written different, maybe you want check that out or just leave it with your own writing. Ashtongue Spy is cool and Akama interesting to destroy small minions.

Ok, so I've remade Vanessa's HP to something more interesting:

I was thinking about the best bosses of Galakrond Awakening, and Khadgar vs. Avalanchan came to my mind. I love to replay that battle from time to time just to see in how many turns I can defeat the boss and which overpowered combo I can make. So, I wanted to make Vanessa similar. That's why she'll have a deck focused in customizing your hero power. The following cards are the ones her deck will be formed with:

     Hero Power explanation

You'll start with a useless hero power. When you play one of the above cards (except starting again, of course) you'll add an Enchantment to your hero power. Targetting your hero power will let you use the enchanted effects. However, there's a limit of 3 enchantments. If 4rth enchantment is added, you'll lose the oldest one (the first). Enchantments can stack, including Hakkar's cost, and if one Hakkar's blood leaves your Hp cost will reduce.

Not sure if it's easy to understand, so I would like a bit of feedback. Also, I'm not sure about the warrior common, which one of those you prefer?

The first one is more 'Piratey' and more suited for aggro, while the second one is more for control. The second card is more original but mostly useless and I'm not sure if there's enough Pirate sinergy in this set (Grim Blacksmith is pirate but not aggro) so I'm not sure which card I should post.

Also, why isn't that post on hearthpwn news?

Already made most of my entry, except decks and heroic:

    Wing 4: The Ironclad Cove

    Showcase Cards

    First Boss: Mr. Smite

Mr. Smite, the old captain Greenskin's first mate, hasn't taken well being completely removed from World of Warcraft! His deck will feature lots of weapons obviously, but I'll try to take a different approach than Pirates. Maybe enrage? After defeating him, you'll obtain Angrath two taurens from his tripulation, to boost even more your pirate decks!

    Decklist

    Minions (12):

    Spells (6):

    Weapons (12):

    Card Reward:

     Second Boss: Captain Cookie

Cookie, the Defia's chief, doesn't take lightly the task of protecting Edwin's treasure. With his Mill deck and Hero Power, he'll try to defeat you doing what he does best: filling you up! His defeat will give you some of the most evasive murlocs, to help you swarm your opponents.

    Decklist

    Minions (23):

    Spells (7):

    Card Reward:

     Third Boss: Memory of VanCleef

I was thinking about the best bosses of Galakrond Awakening, and Khadgar vs. Avalanchan came to my mind. I love to replay that battle from time to time just to see in how many turns I can defeat the boss and which overpowered combo I can make. So, I wanted to make Vanessa similar. Enchantments can stack, including Hakkar's cost, and if one Hakkar's blood leaves your Hp cost will reduce.

Vanessa is tasked with retrieving the treasure while the others get their loot from the last boss fight, but she gets surprised by an apparition of nothing less than her father! Of course she won't like to fight him, but while being under Greenskin's service she doesn't has any other chance... VanCleef will have a combo deck with cheap cards to support his images while Vanessa will have a deck stuffed with cards to concoct her poison. After Edwin vanishes, you'll obtain a ghastly reard and, at last, the treasure! Or so it seems...

    Edwin's Decklist

    Minions (16):

    Spells (12):

    Weapons (2):

    Vanessa's Decklist

    Spells (30):

    • Juggernaut Oil x5
    • Eau of Kragg x6
    • Essence of Oblivion x6
    • Extract of Sulfuras x5
    • Starting Again x2
    • Faceless Passion x5
    • Hakkar's Blood x1

    Card Rewards (Class Challenge: Rogue):

     Fourth Boss: Priscilla Ashvane

    Initial Dialogue:

    Decklist

    Minions (30):

Just when you thought, you'll bath in riches, the Ashvane company enters the scene! Priscilla is trying to steal what's yours (well, it's yours from five minutes ago). Expect Stonetusk Boars (Yeah, it's one meme battle) and the likes from her deck. But, at turn 5...

    Boss Behaviour

At turn 5 (or when you defeat her), she'll play the following card (she has it from the start of the game, but is unremovable):

    More Dialogue:

Azshara will appear and transform Ashvane into a hideous beast, changing her Hero Power, restoring all her life and replacing her deck:

Of course, if you manage to steal Azshara, you can also transform yourself!

    Corrupted Decklist

    Minions (22):

    Spells (7):

    Weapons (1):

Defeating Ashvane will grant you access to her forces. But, don't think everything ended! During the battle Azshara stealed the treasure to lure you into her realm, the Eternal Palace!

    Ending Dialogue:

     Card Rewards (Class Challenge: Paladin):

Anyway, that's all for now. Maybe I'll change a few cards, like the warrior's coomon (not too interesting so maybe change it for a Burst effecte since I already have the murloc without keywords) and the legendary. Oh, and I'll put dialogues on the same image for easier formatting (sorry for the long amount, wanted to do a bit of storytelling in some parts).

Great job as always, @McF4rtson, but I found a few issues:

    • Class challenge from farseer nobundo from @Wailor's  Farseeer Nobundo is mage.
    • The wing three of @Klipce's Emerald Dreams and Nightmares has also the description of my wing 2 (Stranglethorn under the true description). Also I'm kinda nitpicky here but at the first boss The Crow there's an = symbol after the point that shouldn't be there.
    • You forgot those two dialogues after defeating Vanessa in my adventure (I putted them just before the Vanessa and Defias Raider rewards, after the third boss):

posted a message on I am new both to Hearthstone and message forums, I have one simple question and nothing has turned up on the searches...

E.V.I.L. stands for the league of E.V.I.L., the villain group of this year expansions, formed by "old villains" from Hearthstone and represented by the Warrior (dr. boom from Goblins vs Gnomes and Boomsday Project), Priest (madame lazul from Whispers of the Old Gods), Shaman (hagatha the witch from the Witchwood), Rogue (king togwaggle from Kobolds & Catacombs) and Warlock (rafaam the archeologist from the league of Explorers) classes. They're known for lackeys and since the last expansion Galakrond. Maybe you've seen that term used with decks that revolve around lackeys or something like that, but it's used only for lore purposes.

posted a message on Galakrond’s Awakening impression

As others said felt kinda low effort (especially the ending which is so fucking anti-climatic except the second part of Evil's second to last battle, but even then the last EVIL battle ending is really dumb). Also, I don't understand how are both endings supposed to happen at the same time? Or only one happens canonically? Also we still don't know why exactly Rafaam wanted Dalaran.

However it had some interesting bosses. I once in a while return to Khadgar vs Avalanchan to see in how many turns I can win. And while cards are mostly bad, I plan to try some of them, and had fun with Big Beast Druid before the whole Embiggen trend started.

Sidequests need to be powerful, it is a small (and not enough) compensation for classes can't run Galakrond.
     Say that to Priest
As if Priest had actually problem dealing with Face Hunter :P
But their Galakrond is kinda meh compared to the rest.
