When I first saw this I thought the woman in the art behind the packs would be a hero in the bundle but guess not. Any info on who that is?

It's just a card from Gadgetzan i think. Cryomancer or something like that.

Hmm, why eliminate anyone for this round? That is, why not just let the current 11 roll through and then add up the cumulative scores for the Initiate set to determine the final 4?

I get that initially the "Eliminate five each round until you get to four finalists" was clean and symmetrical, but with the phase two non-participants self reducing the number of contestants anyway, at this point I don't think the difference between 10 and 11 contestants in the third phase is too much cognitive load to handle.

I personally agree with this, it's one set after all, some people maybe will unleash their set full potential with the set's second half.

The merchant: Freshman set part 1

    Upgraded hero power and tokens:

"Oh, hello what brings you to my office? What? Not happy with the work conditions? What are you saying about I promised to teach you money's most intricate secrets? Today's teachings: Never trust a goblin's words! See? Each day you learn something new. Yesterday you learnt about moving not suspicious boxes from one place to another, and the day before that to get punched by a very angry ogre collector. All these lessons are important, you know? Oh well, I guess some people can't be happy. I, Trade Prince Gallywix, have been putting all my well-spent years in the best goblin finance academy (I assure you that it completely exists!) to create the best cards to illustrate my fantastic keyword: Profit! Most short-sighted people can only see the sort-term value. They drool playing their stupid rogue Combo cards and whatever fancy things other classes offer. But... what if I discovered a way to play not-so-fancy cards that give you resources to play more-than-your-average fancy cards next turn? And with that, my brilliant idea, Profit, came to light!"

"For starters, let's get the showcase cards rollin'! Those are my VIP members, the creations I'm most proud of!"

"Before we get with the rest, let's show a bonus card, Project Planification! Got that 'Cast when drawn' idea from where I started in Hearthstone, the great Goblins vs Gnomes *sigh* I still get nostalgic of those times! An old colleague that also started there made a huge BOOM in the Netherstorm, maybe I'll visit him one of these days!"

(Yeah the class will debut in Boomsday Project.)

"And here come the rest of cards. Even, if they are the lower bunch, don't sleep on those!"

"Isn't it cool? Now you can play big things before anyone else! The following cards may not be the best if we talk about fast impact, but you'll get the last laught the following turn!"

"You might ask, what if we arrive at maximum Mana Crystals? Can we have more with profit? Sadly, the answer is no, the hearthstone's laws forfeit it. Joking, of course we can always cheat! In goblin's language that's called 'fair game'!"

Heck, most of the time you won't even need to cheat! Remember that money fluctuates more than any form of magic, you may prefer to break your mana than just use it, so don't expect to always have 10 mana crystals on turn 10!"

"As always, expect big guys comin' with us. They always follow the wealthy, that's why wealth is the same as power!"

"Oh, and last but not least we've got a new big member in our company! This little robot has been working his whole lifeto get a name in the economics industry. With enough investment, you'll get huge value out of him!"

"Before I forget, here's Project Planification's token, Long-Term project! Got that 'Cats when drawn' idea from where I started in Hearthstone, the great Goblins vs Gnomes *sigh* I still get nostalgic of those times! An old colleague that also started there made a huge BOOM in the Netherstorm, maybe I'll visit him one of these days!"

    Feedback:

    @Noah_McGrath

Your first batch of cards looks cool, love your take on classic suicide warlock sinergies, while giving your class a unique identity with the use of dragons and some warrior mechanics! Most cards seem balanced too!

     @MvonTzeskagrad

The idea behind Narrative is cool, but maybe you'll need more discount cards to make it worth. Also, the Journey Begins seems kinda weak, I don't think even discovering a minion from your deck is worth 2 mana.

    Hero Power coin:

"Hey kid, have someone ever told you about true power? It's not light or sheer force or whatever those stupid priests, warriors and other dimwits told you! Money's where power is at! Money fluctuates like magic and is unstable as the elements, but if you plan your moves ahead you should be fine! Of course, we have an army of merchants to help you arrive to the top easily, an if you're more of taking your opponents economy slowly, we know a few guys that can help you dish damage constantly. Remember also that health is a resource, you should use it well! If you follow all my tips you'll be number 1 in no time! However, arriving there is only the first step. Once your pockets are full, then the fun begins! Unleash the big guys and glee as they destroy the competition, all while protecting all your properties with taunts and spells!"

    Showcase cards:

Other cards from the basic set:

    Flavour texts:

Small Seller: He just needs more visibility.

Grim Extorsionist: Turns out Coldlight Oracle would've been a good debt collector.

Amortization: That healing may come in handy.

Market Guard: Silverback Patriarch's powercreeps are priceless.

Leeching Banker: Not all bankers are bad. Some are just goblins.

Strongbox Guard: Yet your safe combination is 1234.

Gold-fueled construct: Yes it may be expensive, but it's a brand robot!

Risky Purchases: That's why you shouldn't craft anything when a new expansion releases.

Extortion Income: What? You thought this was a completely legal business? How naive.

Contingency Plan: For when the full yolo fails.

Hope you like my basic set! Also here's the keyword I'll us for the initiate set, it's like an inverse Overload:

Well I've got an idea, even though I'm not sure if I'll stick to it. Here I present...

    The Merchant

"Hey kiddo, wanna know the secret of success? Some will tell that strategy will make you victorious, while others say that's sheer power what you should achieve. But, believe me, none of that is important. What makes you succesful is money. Nothing more, nothing less. And if you want that, you'd better stick with me, pal!"

"Money fluctuates like magic, and is as unstable as the elements! In order to take the most out of it, you need to plan your moves ahead! That's what makes us better than other class. They just live the moment, they can't care how they'll be next turn. That's why you should invest part of your capita, even if it means you get a slower start. Gotta spend money to obtain money!"

"What to do when your pockets are full, y'say? Well, you can start sending the big guys! The beautiful thing about money is that it creates bonds between people. When talking about "people" I'm refering to fearsome henchmen and mercenaries, of course! Also don't get too afraid to enter a small debt... You always have a chance to obtain your money back with profitable businesses!"

"However, don't be afraid to use extra resources to stay on top of the economy! I have legions of merchants to ensure income never ceases!"

"However, if what you plan is to suck your rivals' blood slowly, we know the perfect partners for you! We have contact with some leeches that'll obtain your opponent's capital slowly but steady, leaving them in bankrupcy before they know what attacked them!"

"As someone might've already told you, your health is also a resource! Spend it wisely, and use some cheats to keep it flowing!"

"Are you already on the top? Well, that's when fun begins! Competition will never stop attacking, so you'll need to defend as hard as you can your properties!"

Thoughts on what I've got? Already made some profit cards, but then I've realised that Basic sets don't have class-specific mechanics. Oh well, at least I've got some cards for next week. Also, not sure if there's a problem with Gallywix being the hero, due to him being also a Battlegrounds hero.

Old cards (will be used in initiate set I guess):

posted a message on Outland expansion and paladins get murlocs?

I agree with you, A'dal would've been cool because right now there aren't naruus in Hearthstone :/

That and the fact that A'dal Prime had potential :P

Also, one of the cards is called hand of A'dal, maybe he'll be a Neutral Legendary? I hope so.

EDIT: Not a WoW lor expert, but aren't all legendary primes dead in canon? That would make sense in flavor theme due to them being revived, and a reason why A'dal is not a primer legendary.

EDIT 2: Nevermind, Msshi'fn is also alive. You've got no excuses here, Blizzard.

I'm the only person that likes the art? When I saw that at the preview I was intrigued, especially since leonesses are not usually used.
