I‘m very happy with most of the nerfs. There shoukd be no cards that reduce or give you cards that cost 0 mana, because they basically can win you the game in an instant and are just unfair. It ignores the whole game that took place before. Alex is still very strong, but not as swingy and unfair, as it was before. It shouldnt be a win condition on its own.
Jesus christ will they ever stop nerfing DH? I just came back after a 30 days break thinking this would be a good time to finally try out the new class, turns out they are not done nerfing the shit out of Illidan until he gets 30% overall winrate and 0 playable deck in Wild.
How about you give DH a balanced 2 mana hero power instead of nerfing every single good card they have to compensate for the better hero power? This is giving me old warlock vibes, but worse. At least warlock used to straight up get shit cards, not super enjoyable cards nerfed to oblivion.
Looks like it was all planned from the beginning to make people buy more packs. It was painfully obvious that they made it too strong at release, but it is now painfully obvious that they are trying to kill the class until the next cycle of OP cards, because it's so much more fun to lose to mages.
Nerfing warglaives is a ***ing joke, at release we had countless 5 mana cards to play with, so much that warglaives was even considered a weak card. Now illidan has to play neutral cards to fill his curve with decent 5 drops LOL.
Metamorphosis - I see no reason for nerfing this card, it wasn't a good card to start with, Glaivebound Adept should be nerfed, not metamorphosis.
Kayn Sunfury - This card shouldn't be available to DH in the first place because of the broken synergy it has with the class, it feels so unfair to the enemy. i think demon hunter shouldn't have such effect available.
Warglaives of Azzinoth - 5 mana warglaive of azzinoth was INSANELY good, i believe it will still be relevant after the nerf, the effect on the weapon it's so versatile and strong, it ensures a board clear almost all the time
Dragoncaster - this card seemed super strong on standard, getting pyroblasted in turn 6 was def very critical in standard, as for wild, this card wasn't relevant at all. The nerf of this card makes it obvious that blizzard doesn't care about wild broken combos, but just the standard ones. (no shit sherlock!)
Fungal Fortunes - spell druid isn't that viable, maybe a pre-nerf before the new cards come...? idk
Galakrond, the Nightmare - i don't play rogue but OUCH, this is just sad, rogue hasn't been relevant since forever and this just buried rogue together with that ugly pirate-themed portrait of valeera. RIP rogue 2014-2020
I don't know why everyone thinks the Alexstrasza nerf is that huge of a hit. When I play her, I actually find myself holding on to one dragon so as to not overextend (sometimes I even hold both, if I'm able to).
I think it's a necessary nerf, and the card isn't completely broken now. It went from being broken to simply elite tier haha. All highlander decks will still run her.

A lot of these changes are affecting the wild meta as well, which is nice. I dont think its a coincidence.
DQA: It was a high cost payoff card for highlander decks. I dont think she deserved this nerf. Maybe making her 10 cost would have been a better idea.
Kayn Sunfury: Well if the ability matters, your big taunt minion will kill it next turn anyways... if you have a next turn. Overall its not a bad nerf, IMO DH needs a lot of small nerfs like this.
Metamorphosis: Its a big nerf, but you can still shoot with it behind taunts, so it may still see play. So from overpowered its gonna become borderline playable, its a reasonable nerf.
Warglaives of Azzinoth: This is currently the strongest card in every version of DH (maybe except Skull). So this is a very huge nerf for odd DH in wild. In standard tempo DH will still play this, but it will be slower. So its a good nerf for standard, about wild...
Well they did hit odd DH with the nerfhammer like a truck. But its not neccessarily a bad thing. We will have new (possibly overpowered) DH cards in a month and the deck's greatest strenght is the hero power which will stay here. So we got all these DH nerfs to make room for the new cards. IMO its good that they are planning ahead, I just hope that the new cards wont be as busted as the first batch of DH cards. Who am I kidding they will be OP as fuck.
Rogue Galakrond: Every rogue deck is a Galakrond deck, even in wild. I know that odd rogue is better, but I still see more Galakrond. So this is a good nerf.
Dragoncaster: The problem was never Dragoncaster, the problem is Yogg box. They have nerfed the wrong card.
Corsair Cache: Very good nerf for pirate warrior in wild. I suspect that they will still play it to find Ancharr, the bonus durability still matters, but for secondary weapon they will probably use Wrenchcalibur instead of Livewire Lance.
Fungal Fortunes: I dont think its a good nerf. They just wanted to nerf spell druid and they didnt have a better idea.
So overall we had some good nerfs and some bad ones, but IMO its not about the upcoming month, its about making bed for the next expansion. Maybe they will print another 10 cost mage spell and the Dragoncaster nerf will make more sense (but they should really just nerf Yogg box to the ground). Just my 2 cents, I cant wait for the reveal season.
Metamorphosis and Warglaives of Azzinoth nerfs are huge and they will slow down DH a lot. I expect control versions of DH to increase in popularity now. And Odd DH in wild is probably dead until the next expansion at least.
Corsair Cache nerf is also quite big. Very often Warriors would go Cache on t2 into clearing a 3-health minion (such as Bonechewer Brawler) on t3. This is no longer possible. Still the card needs to be part of Egg and Bomb Warrior, but it hurts the strength of both decks
DQA is still a very strong card, but it can't be played on turn 9 any more when you are trying to mount a comeback from behind, which is kind of a big deal. Dragoncaster nerf is fair and is another nerf that slows down the meta (like the DH nerfs)
I think pure Spell Druid is still fine even after the Fungal Fortunes nerf as it didn't have any t3 plays anyway (you don't want to coin out Overgrowth as you'd rather play it in t4 straight into a Mountseller or Glowflies + buff)
The nerfs to the Rogue Galakrond are effectively killing the deck. Rogue runs so many low-cost cards that the discount to 0-mana was not such a huge deal. The cards costing 1-mana can even be a penalty when you draw Backstab/Shadowstep. Rogue now joins Shaman in the bottom of the meta.
I expect a lot more Priest coming up, as well as Control Warrior as the meta is going to slow down quite a bit. Maybe Murloc Paladin is now the most reliable aggro deck also? Maybe Questlock becomes a tier-2 deck as well since it won't be dying to DH so easily any more?
I disagree on coining Overgrowth. There are some scenarios where it's good with coin. If you drew another copy with Fungal, and you had other Fungal/Overflow, it just means that turn 5 = 9 mana.
OK I quit the game the second time now. Before DH I played Mage and Warlock. This game gets more stupid from year to year. Fuck Blizzard your balancing and game sucks ass. Your Boring ass game is going to die.
I also coin Overgrowth when I run the dragon version as it curves perfectly into an Emerald Explorer. Otherwise (in the pure version which I prefer) I only do it when I played Fungal Fortunes on t2 - drew 3 cards and have nothing else to play on t3 (as I have now 10 cards in hand). I think the nerf hurts the card more in the mid/late game, where you can no longer for example do a turn 5 Exotic Mountseller - Coin - Innervate - Fungal Fortunes - draw some more 0 mana spells and continue, or a late game Ysera, Unleashed + Innervate + Fungal Fortunes to draw some of these portals. Those combos where quite broken and too swingy so I am fine with that nerf. Overall it is a fair nerf but I think Spell Druid is still fine
Well... These are some huge nerfs... I wasn't expecting such big changes. Now i can no longer say that nothing will change. Things are going to change. Drastically. My thoughts:
DQ Alex wasn't the most consistent card to mount a comeback. She could highroll sometimes and save you (or win instantly) but she wasn't really a reliable way of turning the tides in your favor. Now she is really bad for this. Basically, she is a win more card now. You can't afford to play her when you are behind and hope for a miracle anymore. Also, she is one turn slower. That means she is only playable in the greediest, slowest and mostly defensive highlander decks. HL Hunter will most likely cut her.
Dragoncaster is a fair nerf. Mages can't get away with Puzzle Boxes all the time. It also slows down some of their power plays like Power of Creation though. This may be a big blow to HL Mage. Also, DQ Alex...
Corsair Cache is interesting because it keeps its role as a value generator (you still get more lackeys and bombs from your weapons) but it doesn't promote heavy aggression anymore. It's also weaker for board control. I'm fine with that.
I wasn't expecting another change to Spell Druid. The deck is extremely highrolly and it depends a lot on ramp to get going. Fungal Fortunes is one of their biggest RNG cards. I have seem it discarding minions very often. Now they draw a little more slowly (while still having to deal with the potential discards) which makes them more susceptible to aggro.
The change to Galakrond, the Nightmare is perfectly fair. People keeps talking about how they run these low cost cards and how they can low roll on their draws. However, you were still drawing 4 cards for 0 mana and getting a 5/2 weapon alongside. That's good draw and damage. And when it draws stuff like Flik Skyshiv, Edwin VanCleef, Heistbaron Togwaggle and Kronx Dragonhoof then it becomes ridiculous. This change will stop Rogues from instantly running away with the game with highrolls. They still have access to infinite value and resource generation. Also, Backstab and Shadowstep are anti synergistic with it now.
And DH gets nerfed again. And probably will survive again. These changes are much more relevant than the "nerf" to Twin Slice. Warglaives of Azzinoth is one of their strongest cards and slowing it down will make them have a harder time controlling the board. The change to Kayn Sunfury is irrelevant as it is mostly used to finish the game. Tempo Kayn is usually pretty bad. This nerf is similar to the one suffered by Glaivebound Adept. Pretty meaningless. And their burst and finishing potential are going to become slightly weaker with the change to Metamorphosis. Overall, this will certainly impact the class. Odd DH in wild is going to suffer a lot more than Tempo DH in standard but both are going to feel these changes. Tempo DH will still find a way to recover though. I'm certain of it.
These changes are going to cause Priest to spike, which in turn will increase the presence of Quest Warlock. I will be dusting all these cards minus dragon caster and just sit on the dust till I see the new cards. Worse case scenario can re craft for no loss. Highlander Hunter won’t be using DQA, instead Nagrand slam probably does the job. For decks like Mage, Frizz Kindleroot will really see a lot more play because it’s the only card that can make DQA playable now...
DQ Alex needed a nerf! This takes down the power level quite a bit, but doesn't solve the problem. Still a really strong card.
Rogue Galakrond is nerfed SIGNIFICANTLY! This almost makes the current deck worse with the chance of drawing any of the o or 1 cost cards in the deck. Deck was tier 2 at best and now it looks like Rogue will become the new Shaman.
Druid will be perfectly fine. Fungal on 3 is slightly worse as the filthy Druids will no longer be able to coin or innervate out Overgrowth on 3, but this isn't a significant enough nerf for a class that is essentially a Mulligan win deck. If you get Fungal and Overgrowth in your opening hand you nearly always win. It is a deck that if the Druid gets to 7 mana (usually turn 4 or 5 BTW) most decks just lose.
The Dragoncaster nerf is not needed. They should just get rid of Puzzle Box. It is an unfun random garbage card that can be equally aggravating for the opponent and even the caster if it mills you to death. The card sucks!
The Corsair Cache nerf is also not that significant. It is effectively removing 3 total damage with the greatest effect coming with the weapon being able to deal with early 3 health minions. But Warrior can still Reno themselves to full health anyway. So they still get the draws and/or resources from the weapons.
The nerfs to Demon Hunter seem like a lot especially the Warglaives nerf. Warglaives to 6 may just be too much. But then again, I thought DH was done after the last round of nerfs and they were still ridiculous. So well see.
As a Gala Rogue player (not to mention I play highlander version the most), this nerf seems like a ton of bs to me.
Nerfing classes that aren't even close to tier 1 (Rogue, Mage), nerfing DH AGAIN (I think it was fine at this point, actually) and leaving the most opressive deck - Highlander Hunter. I literaly have around 10% W/R vs Highlander Hunter, with tons of of broken cards, yet they leave it and nerf pretty much every other class lol.
Since I've played the game (around 2 years) Hunter has been pretty much on top of meta of every expansion. Blizzard hard on on hunter got boring, especially considering the fact many Hunter broken decks (excluding HL Hunter) are cheap to play and people just flood the ladder with them.
The only "nerf" HL Hunter got was Alex, but tbf Rogue and Mage HL versions got smacked harder by it, since they're the one that need swing turns, not Hunter.
The argument "Blizzard is preparing for next expansion" is dumb to me, why can't they wait with the nerfs and make them closer to release then?
Anyways, thanks for making the only class I enjoy unplayable, I'll gladly leave this game for now. HF with ladder being flooded by Hunters and Priests
With the only 3 epic+legendary cards that Tempo DH runs getting nerf, this also means that they are effectively 'free-to-craft' for the next 5 days. So the meta will be even more disgustingly full of Tempo DH until the nerfs actually hit....

pirate warrior is going to be FAR from dead. Losing 1 dmg from cache isn't going to change a thing.
Backstab & shadowstep 1 mana if you draw them lol

Alexstrasza went from a great card to an okay card. Still an significant nerf, I'm expecting not to see it played as much after the nerf.
Corsair Cache - This card is garbage now but no biggie, pirate warrior might replace it with Acolyte of Pain or Loot Hoarder
Metamorphosis - I see no reason for nerfing this card, it wasn't a good card to start with, Glaivebound Adept should be nerfed, not metamorphosis.
