I cannot believe they nerf Mana wyrm (and I don't really like tempo mage) but it's ok for druid to dump their hand and draw five more cards while stabilising, dropping 4/4's and killing any viable threats with 1 Mana spells. The rest of us have to include idiotic cards like geist to have a shot, while they drop florist (absurd absurd card, that no-one talks about). All while gaining more than 30 armour through busted cheap cards. Poor warrior has to pay 3 Mana for 5 and draw with no ramp, druid laughs at that for value.
People actually defending Tempo Mage are probably those who enjoyed their turn 4-5 wins playing as pre-nerf Pirate Warrior back then. It was supposed to die when Flamewaker left and now it's finally gone for good. It's by far one of the most one dimensional decks out there and in the same bracket as the old Aggro Shaman in that regard (remember that Spirit Claws, Rockbiter Weapon and Tuskarr Totemic all were hit hard?)

People defending Tempo Mage/Mana Wyrm (Zalae and many others did today on Twitter) I can almost guarantee are on average a much higher rank than those those like yourself demonizing it with no statistical backing. Tempo Mage was not at all oppressing in the meta, and really never has been. Those that hate Mana Wyrm/Tempo Mage just have an innate hate for the deck without any real statistical backing other than their feelings got hurt by the deck.
Just because "handful of players" play wild, let them rot in hell? You are saying all the druid decks, zoolock, odd rogue, quest rogue needs nerf? Control warrior is powerful too, or deathrattle hunter. Nerf them all? What if I say, if you need to nerf everything. You may as well leave them be.
There will always be tier 1,2,3,4 decks. It was warlock in vanilla, then it became secret paladin, face hunter, mech mage, freeze mage, miracle rogue, oil rogue, pirate crap etc etc. It's druids time to shine. You can't expect to have decent win rate with meme decks or low tier ones. It's just what it is, you are the one to decide. Playing for fun or victory. You can't always get both.

So people aren't allowed to express their opinion if they can't provide 'statistical backing'? What? No one cares if someone's a high ranked player or not. The majority of the people playing Hearthstone are casual players who don't want to lose a game solely because their opponent played mana wyrm on turn one. On top of that the Hearthstone devs have said multiple times that they value player opinion just as much as what their statistics are saying.
This nerf is actually expected and coherent with their statement .
Just because it’s a class iconic card, doesn’t mean that they will never touch it ( if it’s autoinclude level... the same could be said about other cards but hey, small indie company, small steps Kappa) , See several Huntercards or Waraxe.
Show me one example in the past week of someone predicting Mana Wyrm would be nerfed in this update.
look at nerf prediction thread there were many who mentioned mana wyrm actually.
it's good mana wyrm was nerfed but the nerf was lazy, uninspiring, and totally ruin a deck that's quite the standard mage list and indentity as a class.. but oh well if they print more cheap spell mana wyrm can still be powerful and other spell triggers will be powerful as well..
I never had a problem with mana wyrm since it's quite useless late game, and normally if you can deal with it without spending too many resources you win against tempo mage.. since tempo mage doens't currently run many minions.

Where did I state my "hate" for a deck? Or did you just pull that straight out of your rear end? I just compared one of the most broken 1-drops (which has been an evergreen btw) with a minion which played a major role during the era of THE most oppressive deck in this games history. Regarding Zalae etc., there are probably an equal number of popular streamers or pros such as Kibler who have foreseen this specific nerf for quite some time. So, please stop with this "hurt your feelings" bullshit when we're just talking about the objective power level of cards. Tempo Mage was literally the spell-related pendant of PW and therefore treated in an equal way, not because it was found out to be overpowered.

If playing the current wild meta without nerfing one single card is akin to "rotting in hell" to you, then you have bigger problems to worry about, one would imagine. Perhaps you need to re-evaluate your own experiences more instead of worrying about one person's valid opinion on an internet forum.
And no, I didn't say that "all the druid decks, zoolock, odd rogue, quest rogue needs nerf". I said that there were "more urgent cards and decks needing attention like Zoolock, or Odd Rogue, or a number of standard druid decks, ". I never even mentioned the word "nerf". And I also said a numberof druid decks, not all of them. If you're going to misrepresent what I say, at least quote me correctly in the process.
Of course there will always be decks in different tiers. That's the nature of of how this sort of thing works. It's not exactly rocket science. But just because a deck is having its "time to shine" doesn't mean it becomes exempt from scrutiny. It sounds like one (or more) of these decks are your current favourite deck and you're terrified someone might change it. Perhaps this is linked to your rotting in hell concerns? I would suggest you consider some of the other decks in the lower tiers that you seem to despise so much. The nature of Hearthstone is that they will at some point rise to prominence, and I am sure you will be back on here whining about how overpowered those decks are and how you miss having Zoolock and Odd Rogue as the biggest cancer since Pirate Warrior. :-) HealLock started out as just a "meme" at the beginning, or didn't you realise that? It sounds like you have much to learn.... ;-)
Classic cards shouldn't be permanently safe when they're overpowered. I'm sure Blizzard thought exactly this when they made this decision. Mana Wyrm is and always has been one of the most degenerate 1-drop minions in the entire game.
I'll admit I am surprised they didn't just follow their previous action with Tunnel Trogg and just relegate the card to Wild. At least then it would still have a use somewhere.
As much as I dislike Wyrm nerf (in particular this one, that basically kills the card even in a deck full of cheap spells), I think we shouldn't rely too much upon the vague promises Blizzard made in the past.
I mean, they also stated that they do not want Classes to have too many staple cards across rotations. Not even Basic cards are safe from nerfs, and we have had multiple proofs of that in the past.
I so agree with this (except for the part of uninstalling ;)). Nerfing a mage card while mage isnt even high in the tier list (has only one good deck atm) and not even touching any druid or rogue cards while those classes have different strong decks. I really dont see the logic behind that.
Ppl whining about this nerf today are the same ppl who laughed when team5 nerf Fiery Waraxe back then. Now eat your own words . Fiery Waraxe does not let you win on turn 5. Mana Wyrm does. I am amazed by how long it took them to nerf this card
Late in 2016 Blizzard had a blog post about protecting Classic Cards and keeping them intact and not messing with a Class's identity... well good job you did just that in nerfing the most iconic Mage card in Mana Wyrm. Meanwhile you let all the Powerful Druid Cards (which were released in 2017 and not Classic Cards) do whatever they want and not get nerfed... Druid can have 3+ Tier 1 decks and not get any Standard Card nerfs yet Mage has just ONE deck that's above Tier 4 (Tempo Mage Tier 2 before this nerf) and you COMPLETELY WAY OVER-NERF by FAR the most important card of Mage's Classic Set.... I'M DONE. LITERALLY UNINSTALLING IF THEY GO THROUGH WITH THIS PATHETIC NERF.
God, i would really like if u had to be an adult to write things on this site.
lol, that wouldn't make a blind bit of difference trust me, some of the adults are worse at babyraging than the kids are. xD

Also, Mana Wyrm has been Mages Tunnel Trogg since the beginning FFS

Noone tryed wyrm in even decks before. Maybe it can crash everything, who knows?

Would it have been a better idea to Hall of Fame Mana Wyrm?

Sure, just put another mage card to Hall of Fame. In that rate mage doesnt have any classic cards left :)
The time of MW's nerf is wrong, that card should be nerfed long time ago.
I'm going to add you on battle.net, if I ever see you playing HS after 18.10.2018 you gift me 40 packs. Deal?
More like they realized how bad of an idea it was to have an evergreen set that never got nerfed.
I imagine at some point Blood Knight will be toned down a little too.
