i just don't think you can please everyone, when the meta is just one or two OP decks everybody complains its just those decks on ladder..... we now have a meta where there are numerous decks that are ladder viable and no real OP deck that dominates and people still feel its boring and none of the decks are exciting......
I personally like the meta, can use a few hero's and rank reasonably well, a good mixture of slower more control variants and faster decks for quick games and more aggressive, only frustrating thing is that yes it is a little like rock paper scissors, you have your good match-ups but then you have your god awful ones and it can tilt me when you run into a few in a row.
I enjoy the current meta an i dont understand why so many people hate on it. If there is one oopressive deck, every one is complaining about that obe deck and how stale the meta is because of it. Now we dont have one op-deck but instead almost every class has viable decks, so people cry "rock paper scissor" meta and call it stale also...
There are viable control-decks, aggro-decks and combo-drcks that keep each other in check. Plural for each! Of course you will still See the same decks if you play multiple hours every day. If you dont like that, maybe hearthstone is not the right game for you...
I climbed to rank 5 mainy using no-quest-odd-warrior and bm-mage, both with a positive win-rate (mage better though). I enjoyed the many different decks to play against and how almost all made the same mistakes. The only thing i would criticise is, that with rat and oracle both gone to wild the meta is missing good anti-combo-tools. But since there us no really good combo-deck outthere that remains a small problem for now, that will hopefully get fixed in the next expansion. (or just move dirty rat to classic and be done with it, d-rat ftw!)
I want a card similar to cold light orcale and dirty rat to counter something like shudderwock or hadronox.
Which gives me some hope that i might be able to win as other then shaman and warrior no other class gives the opponent a beast.

Well against the big bad spider you have polymorh, too. Nothing more satisfying than withing hour into sheep into witching hour into sheep into concede :D
I enjoy the diversity as in casual play every class has a chance to compete and be viable but it's a double edged sword. The main issue is that decks are all over the place in terms of what they do. We have combo, aggro, and control all with tier 1-2 decks which means every deck is just going to have some terrible unwinnable match ups. This makes ladder in my opinion nearly unplayable due you the rps natures of it. As I was climbing up to rank 5 with Big Spell Mage I could beat most aggro and control decks but anytime I ran into a shudderwock shaman or any combo deck for that matter it was just game over which is frustrating to lose simply because you queue'd into a counter match up.
This is also the reason I dislike control metas because it forces this rps nature of game (Not to say turn 5 win by SMORCing is any better). The main issue is mainly how control decks makes 3 different archetypes appear and if no deck can beat all 3 consistently than we get a meta like this that is more or less rps with decks only able to beat 2 archetypes and pretty much instantly losing against the 3rd.
mmm I don't know, I'm still experimenting with the Odd/ Even decks... Also I don't play 4-5 hours a day (maybe 2 at most). What I found out is nearly all Odd decks are just aggro with some limitations and Even decks are more Tempo/ Control~ish.
Even Elemental Mage is hilarious vs a slow deck that allows you to to proc multiple Lesser Rube Spellstone. The deck is pure trash in terms of actually killing the opponent, but damn is it funny when you get 2+ Scoll of Wonder in your deck and they just go off one after the other.
I can see why people are annoyed, this is the "control" meta everybody always screamed and shouted for and now they see "O fuck, games are all taking 20+ minutes instead of the usual 10!!!"... hope the guys who all screamed for it are happy now -.- I'll tell you a secret... there not.

I am very happy, love 20+ minute games :D
hahaha I am sure nobody enjoys that long games until they realize that they are winning
The meta is great right now; there are no dominant decks. Due to this, fewer decks are needing to add mandatory techs allowing for a meta based on deck synergy and skill; it's just great!
I don't mind the meta now. I built a control Mage deck a week ago and I enjoy most matchups, I do hate Shudderwock (because no matter what I do I lose, big spell Mage is way too slow for that deck and I don't like losing just because his bullshit card got the right Battlecry order), also Baku Paladin and Rogue, because well the games are fucking boring. I remove their minions for 8 turns, play Jaina and they concede, not really fun. Other than that, it's a pretty good meta, everything is beatable if you don't rush and think your turns through, something I always wanted for standard in Hearthstone, games that require actual skill and thought.
Meta is balanced, but as others have said, it is sooooo boring. Playing 15+ minutes against a Shudderwock shaman and only knowing if you are going to win or lose in the last few turns just blows.
Playing 15+ minutes against a Hadronox druid and losing the 50/50 from Witching Hour after polymorphing another minion feels terrible, because you know you can't win after that.
Playing against a Control mage and auto losing turn 9 to Frost Lich Jaina being played because you don't have enough removal, or can't burst fast enough.
It isn't very rewarding when you win and when you lose you hate yourself, the other player, and all of Hearthstone for the next hour. I almost prefer Razakus meta, or Pirate Warrior meta, just because you could tech against something. Nowadays you can't tech against anything because there are too many decks to count.
I just think that there need to be more events in general which can mix up the game and make it more interesting.

Mage give too with Polymorph, and all classes can give with the neutral legendary 3/3...

Oh yeah I totally forgot about the tinkermaster :) thanks
hahaha I am sure nobody enjoys that long games until they realize that they are winning
Pretty much this. I don't enjoy the long games whether I'm winning or loosing, but there are a few people that claim the long games are very skill focused and it's an intense battle of wits.... and my oponent just topdecked the perfect answer to win (or he played some rando ass card that gave him the win). Sooooo yeah people can claim that control vs control matchups are the most skill intensive all they want... I'll always point to cards like Lesser Ruby Spellstone, Spiteful Summoner or Tess Greymane. Such skill.
Its funny, the easier they make hearthstone the more people are satisfied. Cus everyone has the same winrate with all the decks. It dont matter anymore how you play the deck, you either get countered or you counter the deck.
I enjoy long games because that usually means that something unexpected or at least unusual happens.
I had a roughly 15 min. game with bm-mage against quest-priest the other day. I knew it would be very hard to win against two amaras and benedictus, but tried anyway. In the end it he played 3 amaras (super greedy version with zola and banker) 4 psychic screams which led to him going earlier to fatigue than me besides bene and there must have been at least 6 lich kings played in this gamedue to stonehills and screams and deck copying. In the end he won because my scremed alana was buried under a bunch of 5/5 dragons and i didnt have a qay to.remove his second lich king.
There where many difficult decisions in this game, but it in the end it was decided by the fact that he could shadowvision a scream two times and that i didnt redraw alana until it was too late.
Was i salty that i lost? Hell no! That game was a lot fun and the fact that it was decided by luck in the end doesnt bother me at all, because which hearthstone game isnt? I dont understand why so many people complain about too much rng and not enough skill in this card game, when it has been like this for years. I am not saying there is no skill or decision making involved, i wouldnt play it if it was just "roll the dice", but in the end a crazy topdeck will aleays beat skillfull play, and that's fine for me.
If you cant handle that, go olay chess. Only skill, no luck. But be careful, you cant blame rngesus or brode when you keep losing in this game, it just means you are to dumb. So maybe stick to hearthstone ,feel like a freakin genius when you topdeck that stupid leeroy for the kill or mc tech there cubed hadronox and blame the rng when you lose ;)
This thread and poll results really show why Blizzard doesn't have to listen to the community. Meta is dominated by 1-2 OP decks? BAAAAAAD. Meta is diverse with 4-5 tier 1 and viable tier 2 decks? STAAAAALE.
One thing doesn't change though - people still believe that aggro is the worst thing :P

Things I like:
- Many playable decks.
Things I don't like:
- Rock/paper/scissors.
I enjoy long games because that usually means that something unexpected or at least unusual happens.
