But thats actually the case in most expansions, lol.. always the same decks all the time, no one ever comes up with creative things and the card pool that exists does mostly not see any play at all, which is really sad. (brainless netdecking ftw..)
Also, RNG is too much dominant right now in my opinion and deciding way too much games than "clever plays".
Also, smorcing Face is strangely way too powerful in some cases. (reminds of the face hunter times lol)
This thread and poll results really show why Blizzard doesn't have to listen to the community. Meta is dominated by 1-2 OP decks? BAAAAAAD. Meta is diverse with 4-5 tier 1 and viable tier 2 decks? STAAAAALE.
One thing doesn't change though - people still believe that aggro is the worst thing :P
Actually I think OTK combos are the worst thing. But that's just me.
1) Too many polarized matchups. And polarized in a way that once you realize you're playing against this particular deck (any control deck vs shudderwock, miracle rogue/big spell mage vs token druid, miracle rogue vs big spell mage, odd paladin vs taunt warrior/any warlock, taunt warrior vs cubelock etc. etc.) you can pretty much autoconcede and feel happy about saving your precious time. Not saying these matchups are impossible, because it's Hearthstone and RNG factor is always there. But still, when you have to rely on some crazy highroll to win a game, I don't think it's either healthy or fun.
2) Current aggro decks suck so hard. I'd play aggro to counter Shudderwock, but the perspective of devolving into an ape by playing odd paladin or odd rogue is not very attractive for me. I wish there was a good aggro deck, but somehow there are no such decks right now on the radar.
3) It feels like there isn't much space for deck building. There are many cards, yes, but the border between playable/meta defining cards and the others is insane. For one example, compare Lord Godfrey and Duskfallen Aviana in terms of power level. Everyone knew that Godfrey would be in every warlock deck, and as for Aviana, even before WW hit, everyone knew that this shit will be unplayable. So Blizzard kinda dictated the meta even before the expansion arrived. What we need is more average cards which you would look at and think, 'Hm, how do I make this work?'

Damn I hope Blizzard somehow sees this post, it should reasure them in any decision they make that no matter what they do. They fucked up and people are angry.
Rock paper scissors is basically RNG... and it affects you all the time. My concern is every class should be able to deal with the OP one card. RNG factor will always exist. I kinda forgot about tinkermaster and the miracles he can perform against hadronox druid.

You stole my idea :P After using Tink in Monster Hunt, it suddenly occured to me that both transforms have the beast tag :O
I enjoy long games because that usually means that something unexpected or at least unusual happens.
I had a roughly 15 min. game with bm-mage against quest-priest the other day. I knew it would be very hard to win against two amaras and benedictus, but tried anyway. In the end it he played 3 amaras (super greedy version with zola and banker) 4 psychic screams which led to him going earlier to fatigue than me besides bene and there must have been at least 6 lich kings played in this gamedue to stonehills and screams and deck copying. In the end he won because my scremed alana was buried under a bunch of 5/5 dragons and i didnt have a qay to.remove his second lich king.
There where many difficult decisions in this game, but it in the end it was decided by the fact that he could shadowvision a scream two times and that i didnt redraw alana until it was too late.
Was i salty that i lost? Hell no! That game was a lot fun and the fact that it was decided by luck in the end doesnt bother me at all, because which hearthstone game isnt? I dont understand why so many people complain about too much rng and not enough skill in this card game, when it has been like this for years. I am not saying there is no skill or decision making involved, i wouldnt play it if it was just "roll the dice", but in the end a crazy topdeck will aleays beat skillfull play, and that's fine for me.
If you cant handle that, go olay chess. Only skill, no luck. But be careful, you cant blame rngesus or brode when you keep losing in this game, it just means you are to dumb. So maybe stick to hearthstone ,feel like a freakin genius when you topdeck that stupid leeroy for the kill or mc tech there cubed hadronox and blame the rng when you lose ;)
I was playing even warlock the other day as I need 43 wins for my 3rd golden hero after priest and mage. My opponent was playing spell hunter and he got rexxarr DK and that when the game was roughly 15 minutes long. Exploding Bloatbat
I am a relatively calm human being and I don't get salty very often when playing HS but O boy I was triggered, my opponent high rolled for 5 consecutive turns, divine shield + poisonous, charge + poisonous, Rush + poisonous, stealth + poisonous and the worst was Exploding Bloatbat + Giant Wasp after this happened he rolled huffer 3 times once an animal companion and the other two times with to my side.
But I managed to defeat him as RNG blessed me with a high roll Guldan. I never felt so good after winning a match.
I also enjoy such matches but I can't stand Hadronox druid mirror matches but then maybe its just me.

Dude, I don't think anyone likes the idea of getting destroyed on turn 5, it just makes you feel helpless lol

Actually I think OTK combos are the worst thing. But that's just me.
I like OTK decks for example Quest mage, it's not an easy deck to play but once you somehow manage to get the game and mostly you have to draw one-third of your deck before you are completing your quest or the win condition. I think if you can manage to hold onto the game for such a long time and without messing up the combo parts you deserve to win as it is a skill based combo deck.
i click play and the game starts and it is even lock and i am bored. then i realize i am a boring person, then i feel bad about myself and then i misplay because i'm sad and then i get punished and lose and then i feel even worse about myself and i blame hearthstone.
Yes. I can play Big spell mage and immediately face shudderwocks and recruit hunter when i was one click away from choosing odd pally but heck ive faced 4 evenlocks in a row so i want to win.
Oops recruit hunter beats big spell mage and shudderwock is an auto concede for the mage?
No worries i will switch to Evenlock and join the darkside. Oh what's that Blizzards matchmaking? 3 aggro mages in a row and 2 big spell mages? Really? IN A ROW?
Did i make myself clear? Do i or could anybody like this meta if their last 15 matches were like this? You do realize u could put a pro in my shoes and he would have lost those matches? See whats the issue here? I lost the matches as soon as i queued not as soon as i missplayed which is how you are supposed to lose in every game. Apparently HS is a special

Regarding your 3rd point, Blizzard will always make some crappy legendary cards, if all legendary cards were good then how would they force people to spend money on packs. On the bright side, you can now only open one copy of dusk fallen aviana and not 20 copies of the same card. So I guess that helps a little bit. But I agree blizzard has the tether and is in control which way the meta goes. They plan everything one year in advance as said by someone from blizzard in an interview cant remember if it was brode of peter whalen
I am a fan of the current meta, though there are a few too many 'baby's first combo/control decks around. I would like them to be fundamentally harder to play - more like, for example, patron warrior or oldschool wallet-control warrior. The fact that the poll is 50/50 pretty much confirms it is the most popular meta we've ever had. The average results for polls of this sort in the past has been more like 25 to 75 - People bring their game salt with them, so 50/50 is, relatively speaking, a huge win for the current state of the game.
As for people disling the rock/paper/scissors nature of the game, I agree, and the best way to bring that back is two-fold 1) Make true mid-range decks relevant, and therefore minion trading relevant, again. 2) Introduce more complex cards (yes blizzard, more text on the cards, something they seem to fear) that aren't just ultimate win conditions/huge spiral 'win-more' cards. People in the community come up with them all the time, but blizzard rarely introduces any.
I kinda like it. It feels fair for the first time in years. Aggro is not too dominant and after Cubelock got nerfed it isn't nearly as common nor does it feel such frustrating to play against. Evenlock has quicky become one of my favorite decks ever and I even managed to get to legend with it, for the first time ever. Maybe it's all because I really like to play Evenlock but I think the only deck that's getting me tilted atm is Shudderwock Shaman.

I think it's fun, but admittedly I am stuck between 15 and 13 on both of my accounts. When my deck stops working, I try new things until I start to advance again. It's fun. On my $5TP account I'm playing Rogue this month. Miracle Rogue worked for a while, Tempo Rogue worked for a while, but now they don't. I switched to an aggressive Pirate Rogue deck featuring Runeforge Haunter, and now I'm winning again. That's what makes CCGs interesting - responding to an ever-changing environment.
However, If I were try-harding for Rank 5, I'd probably want to gauge my eyes out. There is a lot of going up and down and a decent amount of auto-concessions.
This is a great meta. Although if there is one lesson for Blizzard...
Combos that cheat out minions is ok unless they have taunt and insta-stop aggression.
Imagine if Voidlord were a powerful offensive minion. Or if Hadronox brought back choose-one minions. Then you'd cheat out minions to create interactive board states instead of boredom/concede situations.
I dont enjoy the meta right now.

I want a meta that requires skill to play instead of the rock paper meta .

read the post by PsyyKik on page 3, that is why I like it.
I'm feeling the same way as you, man.
it is a pretty healthy meta. But, no, I am not enjoying it.
Greetings, traveler.
Let's make Hunter great.
