Yeah it's interesting rush in rogue means somebody could take out a small minion, shadowstep. attack again killing it, grab a combo card (cheap probably 2-3) . Then you have follow up next turn because you played 2x deathrattles -> spellstone. combo card. Cheat death on it would make it do it again, and if they ignore it it's 5 to the face.
The trick will be WHICH combo cards to use, probably better in a deck with only a few certain ones. Not just ALL the combo cards.
Great card. Seems expensive until you realize that it would be too cheap at 5 mana. Depending on the build, it will draw exactly what you need, so this is a tutor card with a rogue twist, nice.
Wow that's a horrible card. About as bad as Kidnapper.
Do tell how you came to this absurd conclusion? Unlike Kidnapper, this card is flexible, cycles itself, tutors, supports multiple interesting synergies, and removes a minion. Kidnapper is just a poorly stated tempo minion.
My only comment here is: we've seen rogue get a 6-mana pirate before (Luckydo Buccaneer), and also a 6-mana combo minion (Kidnapper) before. Neither of them has ever been used competitively. I doubt this will either. Only bonus part is that this is rare, while both of those others were epic.
Okay it is good because of rush value but it is a little bit expensive for rogue's taste so I think this might not see game in rogue decks tho if they introduces some broken combo cards this might be necessary to run.
don't know if anyone noticed BUT, this is actually over costed, just like WANTED! which is....(drum roll please)... an EVEN cost card. Maybe it's not really that interesting but I have this feeling that Blizzard is pushing Rogue's even deck with 3 out of 4 cards revealed (up until now) are even costed. Other than that, we have some specific Pirate cards with even cost that are related to weapons. What we don't have is an even cost weapon... so... brace yourself...
6 mana for 5 damage burn + draw a card. Eh, seems a bit overcosted... Rogue pays 3 mana for 5 damage, so tacking on "draw a card" for 3 mana is a bit much. If N'Zoth was still in standard, this might have seen play, but as-is, I don't think it is quite good enough.
Seems pretty decent to me, because rogue's combo cards are very good, and often cards you want to draw at this stage of the game. Cards that give control over what cards you draw are often better than they appear at first glance, this could be very similar to the curator in to primordial drake turns 7/8 that quest warrior used to do.

Isn't it the whole point of the even deck to make Dagger Mastery cost 1 mana? Seems strange you'd go to all that trouble and then put weapon cards in the deck.
In fact, that's another drawback to Cursed Castaway -- in an even deck, you'd have no 1-cost cards to combo with.

1.You got me there. Maybe not the weapon but they are definitely going some where with this even cost card thingy
2.But there are plenty of 0 cost cards in standard. Or other generating cards like Razorpetal Lasher

That does seem likely. Some kind of even-cost weapon buff would be nice since you can't use Deadly Poison. Leeching Poison alone isn't going to cut it.

6 mana 5/3 draw 1 is god awful, especially considering last expansion we got a 4 mana 3/2 draw 2 minions. I don't think any Rogue deck is being held back right now by the fact that they can't draw a Combo card.
I have no idea how good this card will be as it can be hard to evaluate rogue cards until tested. I think there will be 3-attack taunts on the board 75+% of the time like creeper and applebaum so expecting this to live after its initial attack is presumptuous. It is good to see Blizzard adding higher mana pirates into the mix. We still want pirates just not mindless aggro pirates. You are on the right track Blizzard. More of this please.
I like this card. A lot

Too bad the mana cost is so high that you likely won't be able to use the combo card that turn.
Seems bad, surprised there's so much love for this card.

better than starfire because it can be dropped on an empty board for tempo

nobody is seeing that it is 6 mana?

Starfire that can't go face or bypass taunt
