I love this card! Tutor effect, affects the board, and potentially has some pirate synergy? Sign me up. The relevant cards this currently supports are as follows:
Comboable on the turn Castaway is played: Eviscerate, Cold Blood, Edwin, Plague Scientist, Si-7 agent, and Elven Minstrel
Relevant but unable to be comboed with Castaway: Vilespine Slayer and Spectral Pillager
That's a lot of powerful stuff to tutor and it even ticks up your spellstone which could be relevant too. I can't wait to try this guy out! I only voted very good though because it's not really deck defining I don't believe. In Wild though, watch out for this in an N'zoth deck!
It's playable if deathrattle becomes relevant. It's better starfire since you're promised a quality draw, it's possible that the minion survives after smacking a minion and it has a pirate tag (prolly useless tho).
Has the potential of surviving after the first rush (Thus making it a 5+5dmg Starfire) and guarantees a quality draw unless silenced (which is unlikely).
We don't know which combo cards will be released, but I'd be extremely happy to have a guaranteed Vilespine on turn 6/7 after removing 1/2 minions with this.
People are comparing this to damage spells, but you know, this card will survive a lot of the times.
And then your opponent must deal with it somehow, there is potential for more value than starfire and hammer of wrath, and can also work as a kill condition
I think rush is underated right now, it’s not just removal, you are left with a board many times, that board can kill more minions or hit the opponent, few removals do that, imp-losion flanking strike etc
You can also play a rush minion on a empty board, something a removal can’t.
Not defending the card, it’s kinda bad cause low health and high cost, but can be playable in the right deck, with the right combo cards.
Whoever thinks this card is good, doesn't play Rogue very much. As Rogue you have very little slots in your deck to include minions, due to the many default spells you pretty much have to take as a Rogue. And then putting a minion in your deck, that costs 6 mana and has 3 health..? You just can't do that, even if it's for a specific card draw.
Compare this card to Gadgetzan Auctioneer and it doesn't stand a chance. With the Auctioneer you can potentially draw far more cards and the one health difference is at times hugeee (given how many spells do 3 damage).
Even if you use this card for trading and protecting your face against aggro, it's going to die most of the time due to it only having 3 health. On top of that the card you draw will not really be playable in the majority of cases. Rogue is a tempo class. This card is not a tempo card. It's bad. It won't see any play. It would need to be at least a 5/4 body to be any good or cost 5 mana.
I fear for Rogues this expansion.
This goes in a very different deck than Auctioneer. This is a control Rogue card and actually doesn't hurt tempo much at all. I agree that the cost is fairly high, but a 6 mana 4/4 that doesn't affect the board the turn it comes down is quite a bit worse until you realize the power of the effect. The reason this card works is because it combos with spellstone and can help draw your burn for you as a tutor (cold blood and evis). In wild, this with N'zoth is scary good too. Probably better than a taunt in most cases.
And even in Paladin,a class that lacks good carddraw ( divine favor is another story ) HoW has never been staple or good. At five mana this card would still only be fair imo, unless we see a crazy good synergy card for this.
I like it - it's like a Starfire, which draws you a specific card. The rogue pirate is kinda slow regarding the current meta, but because this is a body, which can immediately interact with the board, there are some combos with this. I feel, that even if we had a clear view of the WW set, I would still had a hard time building a rogue deck. That class is very tricky and this minion mustn't be underestimated.
Surprise removal with a draw mechanism and deathrattle which is sure to proc both if these are severely underrated even considering he high cost
This with sonya is broken, you draw all your pieces and thin your deck, even better with the spell stone in hand and drawing cards like vilespine and minstrel rogues will never want for anything
Looking forward to this with illusionist as well, liking the look for rogue his expansion
Struggling to think of a combo card that you'd really want to draw... Except for Vilespine Slayer of course, but that's too much mana to be played on the same turn... Hmm, don't think this will make it in constructed.

Eviscerate always is good to have in hand, but like all rogue cards this one is overcosted...
A Starfire that draws a specific card(Hi Vilespine Slayer and Elven Minstrel) that can be cold blooded and even has pirate synergy(if in future blizzard wants to push that again). Sign me up!
Cool value for tempo rogue, and this is a pirate! Can be a thing if tempo will get some more push with other cards
Makes their spell stone better. Could be worked into a new control rogue archetype.

So. Much. Mana.

Have a lot of synergy with 3 directions: combo, pirates and deathrattle.. let's wait and see which one of those is actually supported.
wouldn't write off this card so soon, but I do agree it costs 1 mana too much for what it does.
I'd say 6 mana is maybe a little too much, but honestly the card is not that bad, just wish it maybe cost 5 or something.
Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.

alone, bad.
with combo, potentially good, the only great combo cards are vilespine, minstrel, vancleef, and Plague Scientist (revival in play?).
Specific cantrips are premium.
The most important thing is that it's a tutor for combo cards. If any deck ever needs one, it will run this card.

Made me instantly think of Hammer of Wrath.

Priest: 6 manas 5/5 insanely buff your entire deck.
Rogue: 6 manas 5/3 draw a card...
This card is fucking great.

i dont get it why people compare this to fucking starfire... get a brain !!!
you can trade it in some midrange minion and still have the body on board, starfire kills a minion and draws you a card(no board presence = 0 tempo)
