Mage doesn't really need armour (historically ice barrier was seen as a less than desirable card) but I guess it's nice, and the elemental tag and the 1/2 body definitely dont hurt. Might see play in control mage but will hurt it's chances against druid and priest

I think this is the missing piece for control elemental mage can finally become out of reach for Highlander Priest, play x2 + Fireland Portal and get 14 armor, will be hard to priest kill you after that, put the 4/5 discover an elemental to increase the odds to get one of this to play in the critical turn before Velen.
Jade druid and Exodia mage will remain almost impossible to beat.
Wow for a 1 drop this is fantastic. Definately gonna throw this in my "Big Spell Mage" deck. Drop this on tun 8 with firelands portal for a nice heal, damage, and a minion. Or drop 2 of them on turn 9 for real shenanigans. Imagine discovering 1 or 2 of these of servant of kalimos. I really like this card.
0 multiplied by infinity is undefined, actually. Not 0.
Uhhhh, no. Anything multiplied by 0 is 0. You would have infinite zeros. You're thinking of dividing by 0 in which case yes the answer is undefined.

In case you don’t have time to take a calculus course, a quick google search can show you that you’re actually not correct. Infinity is not an actual number so regular rules don’t apply.
This pretty much confirms Ice Block hall of fame. Or maybe not. But 2 years of standard with ice block + this would be silly.
Believe it or not, they'd have to nerf Ice BARRIER instead. Think of it, turn 4, play this, and get ELEVEN Armor, 3 from playing it and 8 from when you are being attacked.

HA! That's bullshit. Anyone who has played Hearthstone knows that Ice Block is a NECESSITY for Control Mage setups, especially Freeze Mage and Quest Mage. This card makes those two variants even MORE of a pain in the ass - ELEVEN Armor on Turn 4. Now instead of only Control Mages using this card, you're going to start seeing this in Tempo and Midrange. Mark my words, a nerf to Ice Barrier will come before Ice Block is rotated out of Standard.

No, they won't do that. Nobody gives a crap about Ice Barrier. And never will.
meh. I thought Earthen Scales was pretty good. You could use it for armor. You could use it with Auctioneer. You could even just use it to make favorable trades or even ones in a pinch.
This gives you the armor. But, not much else. I don't see the elemental part being that important. But, maybe that'll change. It's cheap and effective so probably will see some run. But in the end I think there will just be better options.
maybe a 1 off...also can be puled from servant of kalimos when in dire need for hp. but honestly i see this more in freeze/quest mage than in elemental mage decks, but those decks on the other hand have little to no deck space. Maybe a new type of mage deck with big spells in it can profit from this one current mage decks wouldnt run it i think.

Because it's a very weak standalone card.
They have to give a crap about it when the expansion hits. I'm no idiot, I'm not going to pass up 3 free armor when playing Ice Barrier or Ice Block. That three extra armor has the power to swing games in your favor, and you're going to cry for Ice Barrier to be nerfed, mark my words.
That's card is actually extraordinary bad, most overrated overhyped card i've ever seen in my life, never pressed "dusted it" before in my life but that changed today... Let's hope i don't draw a single copy of this piece of shit card.
I can feel the salt from here... someone hates losing to Freeze Mage, I see.
I see this in some versions of control mage, because primarily it is in those decks, where you care more about sustaining and keeping your health as much as possible. In control mage - either value or grinder - you play the long game, your win-condition is more in the form of exhausting your opponent and gaining board control.
But this is where I want to say "but". I don't feel it's that impactful to make you include it in your deck. If our hand-size could become a bit larger, if we could break the 30-card limit, then yeah, this would have been considered. The card reminds me of Ice Walker - they both have bad stats (weak to trades), at the same time their effects are quite useful; the longer they stay on the board the better, but, sadly, not good enough:
- Ice Walker - good at stopping big minions and you don't need to use extra resources to do it continuously, after all you only use your HP. But this stops only one minion at a time and against a zerg board or against spell oriented decks this would feel like a bad draw.
- Arcane Artificer - It's cheap, so the combo potential is great and if it survives you might even make a Reno Jackson out of him, taking granted, if you cast and generate more than 30+ mana spells. But this requires you and the elemental to be in a almost safe position, so that you can cast those spells and "threaten" to gain more health. I.e. you kinda have to have board control, because if you keep him until, let's say, turn 6, when you plan to play your Cabalist's Tome, you will let your opponent snowball with their board and you will be in much worse position. Of course you won't play a greedy combo with a greedy card against a fast deck, you would try to neutralize their board, but this is what I was wanting to say - you can't play the elemental freely, you have to find the perfect timing.
He is right on his first statement, if you have the limit of 0•xn where xn goes to infinity, this is always 0 regardless of xn. There is another case which would be the limit of xn•yn where xn goes to 0 and yn to infinity (saying 0•infinity is misleading), which is undefined and can give any result depending on the specific xn and yn.
In the infinite fireball situation we are in the first case, since we are adding 0 over and over, so our succession will be 0•n. This limit gives 0.
And infinity is not a regular number because it is not a number, even though it is possible to quantize infinity to some extent. Still, thinking of it as a number is misleading.

Elements will destroy you!!!
Dead but dreaming
Finally, those Glacial Mysteries you randomly drew wont feel as useless
Not to be played on curve though.
But synergy with elemental and armor.
Hard to deny it's usefulness.

This is an awesome card design. Can't wait to mess around with some control mage.

I love control mage and i think this card is a pretty nice addition if it makes the cut.
1 mana 1/2 is ok stats.
Gaining life is hard for mages so this card does help.
Lots of high cost spells in the class.
just a solid card.
Whoa this actually seems REALLY good!
