Suffers the same problem as Kirin Tor Mage. You empty your hand too fast earlygame and it has no value lategame. Why are you all so hyped? Mad scientist and MC draw AND play the secrets, which is a very big difference.
It's only the PTSD from last year's secret paladin and the general hunter hate that causes the hate for this card.
It is a lot different now that there is eater of secrets, and that this card does not play secrets from the deck. If you were to get rid of paladin's secrets, said paladin would still have a hand of cards to play.
The hunter will have to have an almost perfect turn 3 with this card and loads of secrets to be the threat everyone is whining about. Even then it is too risky a play. It is similar to a rogue building a deck of very low-cost cards so as to buff edwin van cleef.
Another counterargument is that hunter has no synergies with secrets, except for the bow. Although hunter secrets are generally very strong stand-alone cards, they are not good enough to get ahead, let alone win the game; simply because of the way secrets work; secrets are reactive cards, thus, give no options for hunters to abuse the advantage on the board.
For miracle hunter you need to play this card and auctioneer together (and have few secrets in your hand). It will be too slow unless you combo it somehow with Emperor.
Lock n Load combo will work if you have a couple of secrets in your hand.
Issue with Hunter is card draw. So this won't be as good as people are making it out to be. It is powerful but not Mysterious Challenger powerful.
But if somehow Hunters can draw cards...
If Hunters play their hand faster and for less total mana, they could afford to play something like Azure Drake, and maybe even The Curator on top of that.
Azure Drake is a good card, but I feel Curator will be too slow for hunters. Can always hope with the new secret based taunt minion. I think it is what will keep hunter alive to give the class a control archetype. Will see. This expansion does bring in a lot of new play styles, except for Priest.

Well, but the thing with secrets in Hunter is that since Mad Scientist rotated out, they're much less usable because of the tempo loss involved in playing them. You'd rather use that 2 mana to stay on curve or just hero power.
This is a 3-drop with solid stats and an ability that gives you options and can help speed up development. Definitely will experiment with this one.

I wish you were wrong with your "You are all wrong but I am right" attitude. But I suspect you are right. This is better than Kirin Tor Mage, but only because of stats, the effect is about the same since you rarely have more than 2 secrets in your hand and that averages to a discount of about 3. If you have a secret in your hand to play with it at all.
Hunter secrets are better value for their mana cost though, so who knows, this might be very strong after all. TIme will tell.

Good card but not as good as Mad Scientist in hunter. Might help a new type of hunter deck out and enables some sweet tempo turns.
Blizz' got mad that their Eater of Secret never saw the light of the day
