Secrets were played with face hunter when Mad Scientist was around
Wait... Are you.... Saying cloaked huntress is on the same power level as mad scientist ? For real ?
Cat Trick is an amazing trap
No it is not.
It's obviously not in the same power level as mad scientist, but it's a pretty good card that helps a lot in what hunter struggles the most: board control. I started playing midrange hunter simply because it's the only hero I don't have in level 60. I wasn't expecting much of it, it's a 2 tier deck at most, but I was plecently surprised with how well Cloaked Huntress works. Early on, played on turn 3 or 2 with the coin, along with at least one secret, is a very powerful tempo play that it's hard to recover for your opponent. Another common situation is around turn 5. Your opponent has total board control with a big minion and small minion. Cloaked Huntress+Freeze Trap + Quick Shot to kill the small minion and you regained the board completely, closing the game with Savannah Highmane on turn 6. That happened a lot of times in my games.
Many people say: "Emptying your hand on turn 3 is a terrible idea, fuck this card". That's not how this card work at all. You almost never empty your hand, you play it along with one secret, maybe 2 at most. It's a tempo play that can swing the game in your favour when played at the right time, that's what this card is about.
The other thing you seem to be forgetting is that it's not like before, when hunters only ran one type of secret, maybe 2 at most (Freezing Trap and Explosive Trap), so it was pretty easy to play around them for the opponent. In this deck you have 4 types of secrets: Freezing Trap, Explosive Trap, Snipe, Snake Trap, and some people even play Bear Trap. Most of the times you can't play around all of them at the same time, so that leads to usual misplays and loss of 1 entire turn (which, again, is a big tempo loss that most of the times costs you the game).
I got from rank 5 to 2 in 2 days playing this deck, and climbing more. I can say from experience that Cloaked Huntress, while it's not Mad Scientist, is a great card that has come to stay.
This is Kirin Tor Mage for hunter, the discount is 2 instead 3 if you have only 1 secret, what is more likely to happen, the upside is 3/4 is better than 4/3 in most cases.
What Kirin never see play? It is a decent card, decent cards never can compete with OP cards like mad scientist...
This. A lot of people on this thread who are saying OP and lock and load meta have obviously never tried secret mage. What tends to happen is that most often you have zero secrets in hand, or a secret you don't want to use (Freezing Trap). Then the card is just an overpriced minion. You can play secret mage right now and find out how OP a free secret is, and how seldom you would get more than 1, if you even got 1.
My experience with Cloaked Huntress is never having a secret in hand when I have her... In fact, I've had double Huntress in my hand more times than Huntress+Secrets.

How many games did you play to make that statement? Because it seems ridiculous frankly, I've played tons of games and Huntress+secret is a really, really common game situation. Unless you are playing a different deck with not many secrets? That wouldn't make sense though. Or the problem could be in how you mulligan.

No. He's just got the hearthstone curse. Like always getting mad scientist and trap after mulligan. This is an evil game so it doesn't pick on you to make its victims seem like crazy people who clearly need to google confirmation bias.

I actually didn't play that many, to be honest. I just threw together a quick deck with several secrets in order to get a Hunter quest done. It didn't pan out how I had planned after 4-5 matches, so I tossed it. It's a good card, but what I gathered from my time with it is that it's not one of those cards that's going to single-handedly win matches, a lot of the time.
Having Cat Trick available makes Secrets Hunter more fun than should be allowed by law.
Nice card
=D
This card reason why I put flare to my deck
