The problem with too many discard/draw style cards is that, well, you only have 30 cards in your deck, and you only have so much mana to play them all, so eventually... you just deck yourself.
It helps you optimize your hand, if you have 1-2 cards you dont have an use for, you can now just cycle them with Doomguard instead of playing it and paying 4 life over 2 turns to draw a couple of cards. Against aggro decks, you don't tap that happily after all, so it is not a bad idea to cycle without tapping.
It opens up a new type of deck; which equates to fun for me. It's boring playing the same deck over and over again, no matter how successful it may or may not be. And besides, if Blizzard wants to make this a thing I wouldn't be surprised if at least one of the remaining unseen cards helps buff this type of deck.

Dependable loan sharks since 1960. We sink our teeth into every deal we make.
It's interesting, but maybe hearthstone lacks something MTG has to make self discard viable which is Graveyard. Most decks that discard that do so for a reason, like Threshold mechanic, or in order to get it back later on, such as startegies used by Reanimator or Aggro Loam.
This card DOES mitigate the problem of losing tempo by replacing your hand with more card. If you can get value of something like the gvg 8/8, maybe it can rock.
I frigging hate how many useless cards we get for this frigging failed and enforced "discard" theme. So many wasted card spots, it's pathetic. Also, we would need to have ALL OF THEM in a single expansion. The first discard-oriented cards will leave the cardpool soon.

The card itself isn't bad, tho.
About the same reaction people had to Vilefin Inquisitor, lol. I do understand the frustration, though.... Blizzard seems to prefer enforcing their own ideas rather than flowing with the playerbase. This can have good effects, look at League of Legends as an example. After season 1 Riot began designing characters SPECIFICALLY for the Meta that was defined by the players. Now the game's meta has not changed in 8ish years. I would really get bored if Hearthstone's meta never changed.
This does also, of course, have a bad side, which is the wasted card slots amongst other things, but who knows. Maybe one day.
This can draw a lot of cards in a short period of time. If discard weren't random, I could see this fueling some sort of combo deck. But discard is always random, so I don't know how you would keep your combo pieces in hand unless there was a lot of redundancy.
I think this card is kind of useless, discard warlock sucks because it requires basically perfect luck and warlock already has at least 10 card draw in any game he needs it in. Situational card draw requiring a bad deck to make it work just seems bad.

Just fill your deck with one drops, that is creative deck design, right?

The graveyard does exist in Hearthstone. They could easily make a card like N'zoth "summon all the cards you discarded this game". And they will do it sooner or later, if they want discard to be fully viable.
Whoops, my mistake, completely forgot it, specially since there are effects such as N'Zoth, Ressurect and Anyfin can Happen. True enough!
But yeah, there would need some kind of effect to bring some of the discarded stuff back for it to be trully cool. For example, if discarded deathrattle came back with N'Zoth, that would be kind of sweet, don't you think?
When you said there were going to be more demons, I was hoping for synergies with them. Maybe another 4-drop we're now lacking, a 5-drop so we wouldn't be stuck with four equally bad options.
But no, you want more cards to push your shitty discard warlock. It won't work, accept the reality and give us our demonlock back. It can't be that hard.
What they need to do if they want to make discard a thing is to give warlock a way to generate lots of cards in hand without eating up your deck. Like the spare parts from GvG, but warlock-exclusive. It's like they only built half a theme: the half that discards but not the half that generates cards. I think the only card that really supports the idea is Dark Peddler.
I really wonder if you ACTUALLY DRAW 2 IF YOU USE DOOMGUARD, it says "whenever you discard a card, draw a card", so i wonder if the event is taken as a whole or separately.

quite intweresting but does warlock need that?
This is not that bad at all.
There is already a lot of support for Discard.
Fist of Jaraxxus, Darkshire Librarian, Tiny Knight of Evil.... Maybe this could work?
I would be glad to see Soulfire around again, at the very least.
Dream Scenario: T1 this, T2 Succubus discarding Fist of Jaraxxus to kill their Mana Wyrm. Me go face!

Greatness, at any cost.

I would like to see discard Warlock become a thing, and this card might make that happen. So I like it.

5 dust
It sounds lame unless Discardlock is a thing.
I mean, Warlock have more interesting early choices and the best hero power when it comes to drawing cards.
It seems that people are still going to play Zoo over a deck when you burn your cards and I can understand that.

Personally i dont see it as something that will see often

Dear Blizzard,
Fuck you.
