This is the deck I usually play when I want to 'speedrun' the ranks 10-5.
It is specialised against Secret Paladin, which is a very dominant deck around those ranks, but the deck also wins pretty easily against most other decks.
My choices:
Why no Flamewaker?
Flamewaker is a wonderful card. I don't use it. I don't use it because I enjoy the way Tempo was before Blackrock mountain. "Tempowaker" is.... slow. And hear me out here, it is slow. This deck can win on turn 4. Flamewaker goes off on turn 4. But its not only slow in that way, its just.... I hate how clunky it is. You play Flamewaker, you play spells... it triggers. Spells, it triggers. Spells, etc etc. I just don't like that. On top of that, when you play Flamewaker you must invest a LOT of resources into it. For example, I couldn't run my 5 or 6 drops, I would need to exchange those for cheap spells like Mirror Image or Unstable Portal. Both of those cards are much less effective against control decks, you basically don't have a chance if you get board-wiped. All in all, this is personal preference.
Secretkeeper is a beast vs. Secret Paladin. It is basically an instant win. But it is not a bad card against other matchups, far from it. Against other decks, it is basically a worse Mana Wyrm - which is still really, REALLY good. The deck has 5 secrets and its not a problem to get this buffed.
Forbidden Flame is here because its like a third Frostbolt. 2 Damage turn 2 is really good. It gets rid of things and buffs your Mana Wyrm. Lategame scaling is why I pick this over Flamecannon but feel free to exchange the two.
Arcane Missiles is good vs. Secret Paladin. That's basically why I run it. It is ok-ish vs aggresive decks, does good against zoolock. It's also one of those cards that really help you snowball hard. Can be replaced by Arcane Blast.
Effigy is just here because it is a good tempo swing secret. It is a good card to get from Mad Scientist, and we need the 5th secret. Can be replaced with Duplicate but you will lose tempo sometimes.
Ethereal Conjurer, Piloted Shredder, and Faceless Summoner are all good cards. They help you avoid losing fuel. They are valuable against midrange and control decks. Faceless Summoner is like an instant board out of nowhere which is fantastic for the turn after a Brawl. Ethereal Conjurer is good for finishing enemies off or grabbing a Polymorph to deal with C'Thun, and Shredder is Shredder.
KARAZHAN HYPE!
Medivh's Valet!!!!!
Hey man, I really like the deck. Still I am biased about the Secretkeeper as an anti-secret tech. Wouldn't you like an Eater of Secrets in here?
It also does miss some essencial boardclear vs aggro.
I'm glad you like it :D.
The reason I prefer Secretkeeper over Eater of Secrets is because the Eater is useless vs non-secret decks. If you draw 2 or even 1 copies of it early on against something like a handlock... zoo... warrior, or anything not Mage/Pally/Hunter, you're going to have a bad time - Secretkeeper on the other hand, you activate by yourself! It is never a dead card. It is also REALLY good vs Face Hunter because its stats (x/x+1) are very defensive and often kill 2-3 of their minions before going down.
As for fighting Aggro : Arcane Missiles, Forbidden Flame, and Frostbolt are your tools. I rarely have problems fighting Aggro decks because this deck takes control of the board early and does not let it go. Like I mentioned earlier Secretkeeper is very good against aggresive minions.
Sometimes I find myself forced to pick up a Flamestrike or a Blizzard from Ethereal Conjurer, but it is rarely needed.
P.S if you have a suggestion, I will be happy to hear it.
