Ahh, I'm depressed. Played 8 matches vs my Face Hunter friend and lost all 8. The control variant feels too slow...maybe I'll just switch back to making the zoo one work
Really? I have pretty high winrate against facehunter. How much healing was in your deck? What early game minions do you play?
Perhaps it was midrange? It did run webspinner/highmane/hunter's mark
I was running the healbots, belcher, siphon soul and sac pacs but I got overrun every time
I may try your decklist next (even though I only have one twisting nether)

Oh, that's so different matchups. Yes, midrange hunter may be hard to play against (those Highmanes are OP and have no 1-to-1 trade removals, except when you have 5 dreadsteeds on board). He probably deals less damage on starting turns tho, so it's not that uncommon when you can tap t2 t3 instead of "burn everything to live" tactic you use against facehunter. And since he is midrange, you should probably try to return battlecry minions with his freezing trap.
Just played against a dreadsteed deck and the moment he dropped it he lost the game. I didn't even silence it or anything, but he lost so much tempo that turn that he couldn't recover.
This is the deck I'm currently testing. Considering swapping out Kel'Thuzad and Void Crusher for something else (maybe KZad for a bane of doom or a siphon soul) but it's pretty funny when Void Crusher eats up your steeds and their Antonidas
come on guys let's make this deck ladder viable! I tried almost everything but still not enough win rates for legendary ranks. it is very combo dependant and combos are somewhat mana hungry to use. so if dreasteed was 3 mana it would be so much more OP :/ this deck is so much fun though it's even became one of my favorite decks of all time to play
Too many legends IMO. Say Emperor Thaurissan looks out of place, also Loatheb doesn't seem to be a valuable addition in here. Also with this curve you have so little early game that aggro decks will likely eradicate you before your first Dreadsteed, and you would need two more turns to establish the board once a steed is in place. In the meantime you would be plain rushed down. This looks nice against tempo, though, and any deck that can't make lethal against an empty board prior to turn 6.
This is what I've been playing around with. It was a Power Overwhelming/ Faceless Manipulator/ Arcane Golem deck that I gutted and made something that had more Dreadsteed synergies. The Dreadsteed isn't the focus, but it can really help make the long drawn out games easier and give you a body to use for some game winning burst from Power Overwhelmings and Demonheart. They also make a hard casted Mal'Ganis not feel as bad. A turn 4 Voidcaller that pulls a Mal'Ganis which you faceless on turn 5 is also pretty much game over, too. I'd never faceless a non-buffed Dreadsteed, though.
That's my Dreadsteed deck. Basically I just stall the game until I can start flooding the table with DSteeds by wiping the board and healing yourself. Then chip away opponents health and keep full control of the board. Go for the kill with Mal'Ganis or use it just to wipe board/prevent damage/get your opponents last hard removal out for DWing.

How about some Hobgoblin synergy with Dreadsteed and implosion?
Hobgoblin buffs neither Implosion Imps, nor dreadsteeds summoned with deathrattle :(

Hobgoblin only works with PLAYED minions. Otherwise it would be insane in Paladin with Muster for Battle and Hero Power.

you could also go with sacrifical pact as well, dreadsteed is a very nice demon to devour for 5 health......
of course, as suggested, kel'thuzad.... and if you really wanna do weird stuff to dreadsteed, you can always bane of doom it
oh yeah, watching him beating on GP warrior was hilarious.....

There is a lot of steak here...
