Well Valeera the Hollow, clearly isn't doing whatever the heck Blizz pretended her to do, however she revitalized mill by herself and i want to craft her just because of this, (i think mill is as valid of a strategy as aggro or control is), however i wouldn't want to craft her, just to end up with a nerfed Dk that simply doesn't work otherwise.
I would rather see mill rogues stop playing and use the spider solitaire on their computer. as soon as i recognize its mill, usually by turn 3-4, i concede so i don't waste any more of my time.
She's excellent in mill, if you like playing it - craft her, she really takes the archetype to another level.

It's much more fun playing against mill than decka like exodia or freeze mage. Besides existing board interaction, you can actually win with some strategy.

Official stance is : Mill deck is not what hearthstone is about.
Now Mill deck is currently fashionnable because there is so many control deck. but even with so many control deck the win rate is not higher than 40% or something.
ex: Kyo (Taiwan or HK player) is playing only Mill rogue this month on stream. He is stuck rank 5 since that time, can't climb. And he is a professional gamer. Mill rogue is nice but current version is too weak to be a real threat.
Best deck to play a rank 15/10/5 for fun but Not a ladder climbing deck.
Don't think Rogue DK will ever be nerfed. As I understand she has a negative effect on win rate when in deck AND when played, same trash tier as warrior DK
Edit: If you count play Mill rogue in wild, go ahead that deck is good enough. but for standard unless you have extra dust to spare I would not recommend it
Plenty of people have adapted mill to fight aggro effectively and have reached legend with it. You're right in saying that the hero really only fits well into mill. I can see the concern that perhaps Blizz would nerf mill but I can't think of any way that would really work without changing the way fatigue works. You're probably safe crafting it for the fringe decks it could see play in. You never know what kind of decks could be coming down the road in future expansions. I crafted it in gold more because I love the class than out of a desire to make it work right now.
Well we do still have Nat, the Darkfisher all time best hs legendary to completely make mill decks broken, quite possibly the hardest blizzard has worked on making a card and give it such value.
On a serious note mill did get some support, Skulking Geist is a must cuz as soon as u play the first coldlight oracle druid keeping on shuffling idols, and yea Valeera the Hollow does seem to make mill work.
Mill is all abt fun its in no way a top tier deck atm and doesnt seem to go that way in the future maybe blizz makes some support cards for valera in the future otherwise dont craft her thinking it will get competitive anytime soon.
Also i dont think dk will get nerfed, blizzard seems to have absolute stopped buffing and only nerfs when an absurd amount of time has passed and ppl literally start to quit hs cuz of that one card. Undertaker for example, caverns below more recently
blizzard was always a bit careful about mill and did not want it to be too popular it seems. but they made some cards that seem to promote this unusual playstyle and especially with the latest expansion they seem to acknowledge involving the decksize and overdraw in your decks strategy. cards like Gnomeferatu and Ultimate Infestation as well as some of the DK cards from The Lich King make fatigue more likely and can teach new players about the dangers of drawing too much or getting to the end of your deck. Dead Man's Hand and Archbishop Benedictus also shine some light on the decksize and are great mill counters. i would not be surprised to see a little more mill cards in the future.
as of now, i don't think standard mill rogue can be tier one, but it is a lot fun and can work decently on ladder (if you practice the deck and are patient ;) ). i got the rogue hero card from a pack and would not wanna miss it. it's also one of the cards, that has quite some combo potential for new cards and it will stay in standard till 2019, so you can definitely craft it, if you like rogue.
TC, at this rate, Mill will never be viable in standard. In wild though, it's getting better and better every expansion. Blizzard doesn't nerf wild cards, so they chances of them nerfing Mill is almost zero.
I tried a combination of Quest and Mill Rogue with N'Zoth and Valeera, i think the future lies in a flexible hybrid with multiple win conditions. Of course, it needs a bit more support than Roll the Bones to be viable against aggro. Mill is a quite an interesting archetype and Gang Up can be used in so many ways, so it's not quite "spider solitaire".
If it gets nerfed you will get full dust by disenchanting it, so you basically just borrowed it before the nerf.
uhmm i think i failed to explain myself, i didn't mean if Valeera the hollow gets nerfed but if the mill strategy gets nerfed in general, for example if anything important to the strategy gets nerfed, like: fatigue damage gets removed/scaled down, shadowblade or/and violet illusionist get increased to 4 mana, or they just nerf cold light oracle to draw 1 card i would end up with a fairly useless DK, because as i said in the opening post whatever the hell they designed Valeera the Hollow for, is not working like, at all, but she indeed revitalized mill decks.
They've essentially said they never want it to be meta-deck, but they're fine with it being fringe. That does mean they'd probably nerf if it ever got popular, but I don't think it's going to see much play anytime soon (it's weaknesses are still too big, and it's hard to play, so I don't think people just "haven't caught on yet" or anything).
I've been playing mill rogue in the current tavern brawl and it is so much fun due to the mana discounts and wild format. I actually beat a priest who played Benedictus by milling. not a viable deck for most people but definitely a good time.

i wish i could shoot it.

If you think there is chance of DK getting nerfed, it's safe to craft since you'll get full dust value.
I crafted it today to try meme decks. Rogue and Hunter DKs are so fun to mess around.

If that deck needs a nerf, coldlight is the main offender here. May be changed to "you draw a card"
Yes, climbed in standart with mill rogue.
