Right now wild is either stealer, secret mage or hyper aggro like your even hunter. Us control/Reno players will get our chance in a few days to play wild after stealer nerf/ban! I am so excited! Will keep climbing in standard till wild becomes playable for us again!
Very impressive on your legend with a tier 4 deck! I see 12% of your games were vs. (Tickatus) warlocks, were you able to beat any with rattlegore+faceless highrolls? Priest is also a bad matchup because of soul mirror, I know this as my rush warrior often lost to them as well as Tickatus. I consider rush warrior t4 as well since it has too many bad matchups, had like 40% winrate with it.
I am surprised they banned it, there's always a first. I still think it needs to be nerfed to "first card drawn" because it will break standard as well down the road. Itll then get nerfed and unbanned.
A number of decks can kill you by turn 5 with a good draw. And here you are not even technically dead. Doesn't make the deck broken
It makes it so midrange isn't a viable option anymore. Good luck playing Reno or any non face oriented deck vs that
I haven't touched wild yet and neither have many of my friends. Been playing classic, standard, some arena and testing my new cards with friend vs. friend.
No point in playing wild now. You either play smork decks or get killed by those warlocks. Sometimes they mess up or can't make in time but still the fact that something like this is allowed to exist in a meta is ridicolous. I hope that devs after this mistake finally adress wild balancing. It's not right that a good chunk of their playerbase can't play a gamemode beacause everytime they print some card the meta collapses on itself
Wild is dead for anyone who doesn't enjoy playing hyper aggro or APM warlock. Most of my friends have quit wild and my friend's friends did the same. Wild is a ghost town by now with over half the playerbase gone.
Agree, wild is unplayable right now. There is no viable counter against the deck and you are helpless by turn 6-7 watching them channel through their entire deck. Blizzard really screwed up again.
Hyper aggro and secret mage are supposed to be favored but everything else is unplayable. Even discardlock is too slow. My friend tried this deck and he won 1 game, lost every other game. He's quitting wild and all his friends quit wild too.
Maybe animations and weakness to aggro means these decks (be it Mecha'thun, Malygos, Majordomo/Treachery/Alex or Leeroy/PO/Faceless) will never be tier S, but they are unfun, completely uninteractive and bad for the game. So either you play fast aggro or on turn six you watch your opponent play solitaire where he wins or loses on his own.
I expect a nerf sooner or later if the popularity of Stealer of Souls remains so high
Half of wild is apm warlock and the other half is aggro decks trying to counter said deck. Control/Reno is dead now. It's very likely to get nerfed within two weeks. Until then, me and many of my friends are taking a break from wild.
Always been the case for me, usually by 10 ranks or so. I hit legend in wild before I hit diamond 10 in standard. I usually get 10 stars in wild and 8 in standard too.
Wow, so many people dismissing this card. It's a superior dirty rat in almost every way. This can't whiff the same way dirty rat can and you don't need to have removal in your hand either. You also force your opponent to remove that or you go face and win. This will probably be in every control deck in both formats, especially wild odd warrior!
Nerf secret mage, that deck is 30% of wild. Print tech cards in the mini set for both standard and wild. For example, print a card that can change the HP of both players so they can counter deathknights and even/odd decks by changing HP. Print a 2 mana 2/2 that destroys all enemy secrets. Eaters of secrets is just too slow and I almost never see it being teched.
Warlock was always the king thanks to Tickatus against other Control decks. I still can't understand how that card hasn't been nerfed. Takes all the fun away from playing Control.
They just sold a bunch of $20 decks with tickatus. He isn’t going anywhere.
Maybe they nerf him sometime in June after the mini set when sales of $20 decks slows greatly. Tons of people will be buying the mini set instead. Tickatus means other control decks can't exist in standard :(

Iksar tweeted they would consider a nerf if control warlock was ever around 10-15% of the overall meta, which was certainly the case before the last set of balance changes (14%). Those were his words, not mine. As of right now, it’s around 9% of ladder across all ranks, which still places it as the 2nd most played deck in the game behind Spell Mage. Whether that number goes up or down, remains to be seen. But, the deck has already hit the exact criteria that the devs stated as being problematic in their minds & has remained untouched.
I find this interesting, because for him to even make that statement at all, means that the PLAY RATE of the deck is more or equally as important than the WIN RATE, in their eyes at least. Make of that what you will.
No idea why or how Tickatus dodged two nerfs so far. But sad to say, warlock is the only viable control deck outside legend where theres a few priests as well. Either they nerf Tickatus in a future balance patch or control is dead for the rest of the year 2021.

I was surprised as well, but I still predict stealer will get nerfed in standard down the road and probably unbanned from wild as a result.
You can only farm them with hyper aggro or secret mage. This is about to change!

This is still much faster than the 2+ months we used to have to wait in the past. I gave it two weeks till it's nerf and was right after all!
