Revisiting this card in the year of Dragon, Baleful Banker synergize quite well with Archivist Elysiana
I would say this card is better than the zola and good enough to outvalue keleeseth in shudderwock shaman with hagatha. in hagatha-shudderwock decks, hand clogging becomes a huge problem, and replacing zola with this card prevents that completely while still maintaining the essence of zola's job. the card also prevents a frequent problem I face when playing shudderwock shaman: fatigue. Especially with benedictus preist being somewhat played in the meta along with big spell mage, this card shuts those slow draw-slow fatigue decks completely by shuffling shudderwocks into your deck. With agro being in the meta, removing keleeseth also allows the deck to run wild pyromancer, which is another card that can single-handedly defeat paladins and cause a lot of problems for token druid and odd rogue, making it the perfect anti-agro card when paired up with any hagatha spells, hex, lightning storm, healing rain and zap, and can prove to be way more useful than the keleeseth buff to your saronite chain gang. if anyone is having trouble against agro/token playing shudderwock shaman, or is facing a lot of slow and low draw decks such as big spell mage and control preist, i suggest implementing the banker-pyromancer combo and letting it do work in all areas listed above.
You can create an infinite loop with Glinda Crowskin and Baleful Banker and never go into fatigue.
Obvious Wild synergy with Flame Leviathan.
s/o to glinda and zola for them infinites. C.R.E.A.M.
I don't know, but for some reason I got a connotation that the banker is of a Jewish descent... maybe just the art... (don't mean to be rude/racist)
This is definitely a good card.
It's obvious to compare it with Zola the Gorgon, both are meant to give extra value out of your cards, and helps you replay a card if it gets silenced. While Baleful Banker costs 1 less mana making it more flexible and being an epic it's more accesible.
Zola adds the copy to your hand, which is usually better so you can play it right away, but it's not always the case.
Banker adds the copy to your deck which can be good if:
Discount Zola
Animation makes me really feel uneasy.
Suffle a paladin horseman maybe?
Very strong card to be a neutral one.
Expect to see it (and hate it) very often after the first month or so.
I am willing to bet this card is going make some decks built for the long run decks just go crazy
LUL. It was even better with brann and kazakus. During gadgetzan, the reno mage mirror was decided by your tome and having that card for multiple Kazakuses/Kazaki? or Reno Jacksons. Some games came down to just the pure value and extra cards you could generate with brann and soulcaster effect when on 10 mana. Now that other classes have access to this effect, there are a couple broken wild combos you can set up brann and banker. Don't sleep on this card
Crazy, crazy card! I love it for my control decks!
Seems like a really powerful card and a staple in many control decks, though one of my gripes with this card is the art/name not really being very cool or powerful looking.
More Voidlord is incoming… oh, no, I mean, more Obsidian Statue is incoming :-)
If this card ends up sucking, then we can finally say for sure that capitalism doesn't work.
I can see this card being stupid OP later when the meta starts to really settle and it works with alot of powerful cards like that new shammy legendary that plays all the battlecrys.
Honestly, this card kind of ruins the expansion for me. Makes Shudderwok into an interesting and fun card into another jade druid. Card's basically NZoth + Malorne that can heal you and damage your opponent's face every turn. Going to be extremely frustrating to play against, and YES you will play against it, before everyone types "oh but it's too slow". They completely murdered aggro and tempo decks. If any still exist, they will be paladin alone and because of cards like Dark Conviction, Sunkeeper Tarim, and Equality, being the ONLY class that can simultaneusly apply minion pressure and kill big taunts (which there are A TON of now).
