Maybe this card exists to spark conversation or something. About how bad a card it is.
Oh, COME ON! This is just taking the piss.
Blizzard - Priest have combos already. They have card draw already. Even if this didn't just target friendly minions, Priest has Silence already! Literally! What Priest lacks, is any sort of tempo. You may recognise this as the thing that wins games. Could you, maybe, possibly, try and get round to printing a Priest card that WILL be played?
Rating: Interesting Potential
New Archetype: I honestly don't know what you put this in, there has been speculation you can silence minions Barnes draw for full stats maybe that deck - Or some bullshit Eerie Statue Ancient, Watcher Nonsense
For the Meta: The Midrange Minion Control Priest deck with the rest of the new cards
Power Level: Weak - Most of the time card is going to be do nothing draw a card. Sometimes it will be do something I do not want draw card, only rarely will it be do something I want draw a card.
Will it see play: Probably not
Theory Craft: Eerie Statue, Ancient Watcher, Barnes some taunters some midrange minions and pretend your old school Ramp Druid
Fun: Could be pretty fun, I will definitely make a bullshit deck with this in it
Everyone seems to be forgetting that Priest can play a deck with 25+ spells and 5 big minions. Priest needs an additional silence for Barnes to work, I think 2mana is a little heavy considering it only targets your own minions however(very balanced). Silencing and resurrecting huge minions seems to be the theme they're pushing, while controlling the board with board clears, soft/hard single target removal and healing up to stay alive. Eventually the big guys will come out, priest is the class to get them out sooner. Think mad scientist.
Legend says this card gave back Anduin his virginity.
You know what. It seems terrible. But what if it isn't?
Okay, lets say you for example play Ancient Watcher + Purify. You will get a Chillwind Yeti with "Battlecry: Thin your deck by one." Thinning the deck by one is theoretically good, because having a smaller deck means you're more likely to get your deck's plan through.
BUT: By putting in this combo, your deck becomes less consistent because you might draw one of the pieces without the other. They both are pretty useless by themselves. And a vanilla 4 mana 4/5 isn't really worth the hassle. You could theoretically get it out on turn 3, or even turn 2 if you have the coin, but you would have to have exactly those cards in your opening hand.
Okay, Ancient Watcher-combo is pretty bad. What else is there? Eerie Statue? That would be a 7/7 for 6. That's better than Ancient Watcher, but still isn't really worth it.
Moat Lurker would become an 8 mana 3/3 with "Battlecry: Destroy a minion." That would be decent as a neutral minion, but Priest already has premium removal... so I would say it's not worth it.
You could silence a 1/1 from Barnes or Herald Volazj, but that seems pretty hard to pull off...
Other minions with silence-able drawbacks from standard: Argent Watchman, Nat, the Darkfisher, Coliseum Manager, Silithid Swarmer, Corrupted Healbot, Venture Co. Mercenary, Mogor's Champion, The Beast, Ragnaros the Firelord, Icehowl and Majordomo Executus (Kappa)
I don't see how purifying any of these is worth it... but who knows, next set might contain a billion de-buffs, and Priest will find itself as the only class to dispel them! For now though, I just suggest using Purify on your Moroes and then concede.
Edit: You can also silence Freeze, Humility/Equality-type effects and Corruption.
Unfortunately you can't silence how terrible this card is.
Our just play a 0 mana silence that can also silence enemy minions
In addition, you would need to have both, Purify and whatever card to combo with. This card is literally useless, it should have been 1-mana due to it's "cost" of silencing your own minion.
In Wild the minions with Silence-able drawbacks include:
Zombie Chow, Dancing Swords, Deathlord (but it loses Taunt), Ogre Brute and Fel Reaver.
Still not worth it.
cards this can combo with:
STANDARD: [card]Nat, the Darkfisher Argent Watchman Ancient Watcher Auchenai Soulpriest in a pinch Corrupted Healbot Ragnaros the Firelord if you want an accurate shot[/card]
WILD: Zombie Chow Ogre Brute Dancing Swords Deathlord Fel Reaver
or on any minion with a battlecry or on vanilla cards
Decks this can combo with:
Concede Priest.
So, you have a bunch of overcosted minions that require a combo? i dont see why you'd want a 3mana 2/3 or a 5mana 4/4. The card is just absolute shit
This is too sad to even make a joke about FeelsBadMan
I think its the worst card ever printed i mean wow....
Too op. Make its 4 mana.
4 mana still too op. Blizzard nerfs it once again to 10 mana Entomb a friendly minion. Discard your hand and deal 30 damage to self.
I just can imagine what happened at Blizzard HQ:
A: Hey Guys, remember that card, Wailing Soul, that we printed last year?
B: Yea, that shit was legit, what about it?
A: So I had this really awesome idea, what if we take the amazing effect of Wailing Soul, put it on a 0 mana card, make it single target and give it card draw?
B: Duuuude, are you high? Thats way too op, even better than Silence, make it 2 mana!
A: You're probably right, players just have to discover the possibilities of this magnificent card. Lets get some Tacos!
Based on a (probably) true story.
Won't somebody please think of the priests?... But in all seriousness most hated and unrequested card of the set for a class that was begging for proactive early game.
