Updated Free Deck for New and Returning Players - Voyage to the Sunken City
Catching up on some unfinished business, this post lists the Free Decks that New and Returning players get when they get through the starting experience.
Quote from BlizzardThe decks awarded to new and returning players will be updated with the launch of Voyage to the Sunken City! As a reminder, returning players who have been away for 120 or more days will be prompted with a deck grant right after they log in. New players will be granted their starter deck after completing the tutorial, the Starter Quest quest chain, graduating from the New Player Ranks (Ranks 40-1), and then returning to the main menu.*
It’s possible players may not see the deck in their deck lists if they do not have an open deck slot when they choose their free deck. The cards for the deck (aside from Core Set cards) will still be added to their collections, so they can clear a deck slot and use the deck codes below to construct the decks. Core Set cards are free to all players and are earned by leveling your account.
*Limited one per account.

Why it’s shows me that I will get a old preset deck ? Like shadow priest with Benedict …? It’s a bug ?
I haven't logged in to HS for an entire year and I didn't get a deck :(
Well...this sounds like a really good deal. But I think I have a better one:
also you can claim it ONCE per account. just once. i had a second 8 month break and i didnt got it. had to contact customer support and finally they explained to me that this promotion is one time only per account / region..
oh, now it makes sense. Classic blizzard move
So paladin if you want the best legends or warlock for dust value?
The dust value on Warlock is fake, since it includes free Legendaries and Epics from the core set in the dust calculation.
Cards which you get for free and can't dust. The Paladin is definitely the way to go.
I still count 4 legendary minions that are not core vs 3 in the paladin deck. I still think that 2x cariel is better than 2x tamsin, for now at least. I also don't know if Anetheron is better than 400 dust for a new player but paladin certainly has more non-core epics.
I logged with my alt account and didnt get em yet. i even played a game. is this still not active?
I dont really like these decks. But i would go for the warlock one i guess when it comes to dust value and good legendary potential
Does it work if you log in a different server?
From past experience. Yes
How would one claim this?
If you haven't played in ~4 months, you get one of these decks just for logging in.
You alternatively get one of these decks if you're a new player and complete the Apprentice ranks.
I didn't get one. I haven't logged in to the account in a full year.
It's really great that we can start seeing cards from wild re-entering standard mode via the core set. It's a little breath of fresh air to try and make things more diverse in standard. My question here is, with these decks for new and returning players, will we be able to own the cards after they rotate out? Or will this be a "Here you go. Temporarily own some cards that we already gave you" kind of thing?
Except they don't put cards that need to be in the core set like Dirty Rat, and instead put stuff that has been power crept out of the meta in like Tar Creeper
Dirty Rat would actually make aggro decks even more powerfull and control decks even weaker.
I've hardly played constructed for a year, just the odd game here and there - nearly all BGs for me. No free deck, but I guess I wouldn't use it anyway.
I think you have to be inactive on the server for over 2 months to get a deck.
