Should have been a 5/4.
I can see this used in Control Demon Hunter (yes that is a real deck lol) as a great clear against some small minions or 1 big one, or even used with Handbuffs! I doubt it'll see major play (if any) but I like it's effect. Also I love his flavor text, kinda implies that he has his own methods for becoming a demon hunter, and I find the fact that he broke away from Illidan super intriguing!
A minion who removes a couple 2-3 drops and then hangs around as a 3/4 is a great tool to bridge the early and mid game. But getting this consistently at the right moment is just about luck, as hand-managing in the early game to optimize Outcasts is less of an option. So I think it's pretty balanced. In the mid-late game this is essentially less important, a 3/4 with a multishot attached. Which is fine, honestly. I think he could find a spot in some decks.
Seems underwhelming for a legendary, just in terms of its design. Feels like it's missing a certain 'zing' somehow, when Illidari Felblade was printed at rare. Don't get me wrong – I'll take "underwhelming, design-wise" over "broken, balance-wise (like most DH legendaries)" any day of the week. I just think there's a sweet spot in the middle.
I'm with you there. I remember ages ago when I first began playing Hearthstone in the Classic days I ALWAYS felt a rush of excitement when I saw gold as I hovered over a card that was about to be flipped in the pack opening. I kind of feel sorry for new players - that feeling may be dead for awhile or at least it'll come with a sense of fear/relief surrounding this card.
Personally, I'm AGAINST this. Unless this card is the new secret OP I'll likely continue to feel this way. But hey, thankfully this is an online game and not a card game. I won't be pulling this PoS card every 12 packs or whatever the legendary drop rates are at nowadays. Once you pull it once (normal + golden) you'll never open this again. If this is a free legendary at the start of the set or whatever - I'll feel a little disappointed but in the end I'm cool with it because I'll have the full set day one with my giant pre order and mountains of gold that I've saved.
No charge, trash.
...even if Explosive Runes is in play?
On second thought DH is losing some control options and this is excellent early game board swing.
After all, DH's biggest weakness is maintaining board control 🙄
Does attack left or rihgt first? What if he dies, when he first attempts to attack?
Questions, questions ...
Attacks both simultaneously so no chance of dying before second attack
Like star student I doubt this will see play
Why? it has immediate impact on the board, with a swing potential
