United in Stormwind Decks - High Legend Standard Edition
The expansion has only just been released but there's already some spicy decks out there. We rounded up a bunch of them that were successfully played at high legend and present them here. Enjoy!
Warlock
The most talked about class (and questline) is certainly Warlock. Meati played his deck up to Rank 7 on High Legend ladder and up and coming Grandmaster Gaby played his version at Rank 1. Being talked about doesn't always mean a deck is good (See: Tickatus) but in this case there does certainly seem to be merit to it.

Rogue
Feno had been streaming for some 8 to 10 hours when he made the tweet declaring this deck "completely broken" and he did start losing some matches shortly after, but he had been on a run into Top 100 with it, and when the deck worked it seemed like good old Miracle Rogue on steroids. Try it yourself!

Mage
A lot of experimenting has gone into Quest Mage, mostly to determine which subpar Frost spells to run, but OrangeHS came up with a new idea: add Gadgetzan Auctioneer. It lead to great results and some amazing turns and finishes.

Demon Hunter
What would a bursty OTK Meta be without OTK Demon Hunter? The deck was solid already and a popular bring in Competitive Play, but with the new expansion the deck got some new toys. Sometimes small changes can make a world of difference, like adding single target removal does for Firenoodle's deck, which he played as high as Rank 9. But there's also the wildly different Quest OTK deck that Grandmaster Viper built, with many changes.

Paladin
Gle took to twitter to say he was glad Paladin was playable again. He piloted this deck to Rank 20, which seems to me is more than just playable!

Druid
Here's what upcoming America's Grandmaster McBanterFace had to say about this deck: "Guff Druid is the absolute nuts. If quest mage is annoying you, try gaining infinite armor and infinite attack." Well, if you put it like that... And the deck is not just an anti Mage deck. McBanterFace reached as high as Rank 13 with it and a spread win rate against most classes.

I theorycrafted a very similar quest warlock deck as the first one that I've played since the expansion launched. So far I'm 21/4 with it.
I run Bloodbound Imp to turbo the quest and be more aggressive. I think the souls package is too slow and Cornelius Roame is not mandatory since there is plenty of card draw built into the deck.
I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling this meta is all OTK combo and burn.
Does anyone even play minions anymore? Do we value trade? Do we trade at all?
Everyone is just playing the game by themselves. Who cares what your opponent does. Just turbo that quest and hit them. :\
Fun and InterActiv(ison)
Yeah me als quest paladin. Still a temp deck and the game is over before turn 10 most of the times. Its just temp and aggro. People have time for OTK? Maybe that was the rouge trying to accomplish with all those cards... I won turn 6 so I dont know.
play 15 cards on turn - win game, HS is going wrong direction last few expansions.
I played like 10 games, 8 out 10 where like: A player playing like 15 cards in 1 turn, drawing their entire deck by turn 6 and then killing you with an OTK you can't counter lmao!
Solitaire OTK meta, both players play solitaire looking only at their own hands and don't care about what is opponent doing.
Could not of have said it better. Playing any minion is out of the question. They'll just get instantly removed.
100% agreed. No one can play midrange or control decks. No chance.
a meta where you lose on turn 5 or 6 is never good for the game
I like fast games, and for my part the average game shouldn’t go past turn 8.
Some really cool stuff in this expansion already being forced out of the game by boring decks such as quest burn mage and otk lock with almost no counter play. Hopefully blizzard doesn't take a month to fix this. I'm not saying we should nerf these decks into oblivion but it's clear that they are going to dominate
And who do you think should dominate? Agro shaman?
Aggro shaman is easier to tech against. If you play a slower deck against burn mage or this lock you're basically doomed. It just pushes rock paper scissors meta even further.
Seems like priest is not going to show up in this expansion
Feels Good Man Clap
I've made a Shadow/Corrupt Priest deck which is beating mage consistently. I don't know how well the deck does against other classes though - Mage is quite literally the only class I've faced for the last couple of hours.
That is most likely because we are playing Mage Stone all over again, they didn't learn that making a card that discounts your entire deck of face damage spells will lead to this
They even added an infinite spell card that goes face xD
Quest warlock should have Gadgetzan Auctioneer included. Just check dog stream. This card is mandatory IMO.
What bothers me a lot is that the most successful decks at this moment are otk/burn decks with great tools against other classes without otk/burn potential such as control/aggro/midrange. Dunno but for now it looks like those kinds of decks will dominate the meta. Which is sad if you ask me cause all this leads to "you do your stuff I do mine" kind of matchups. Then again HS has been rock paper scissors / solitaire like for a long time now so it doesn't change much rly.
