So, fun fact that I learned the other day: the text on the card seems to suggest you need to draw 3 cards to get 3 keywords, but apparently if you don't have 3 different minions with 3 different keywords, Varian can also get multiple keywords from one minion. Presumably if you draw a minion with taunt and divine shield, he will obtain both. Same for other combinations.

8 mana 7/7 rush-taunt- and divine shield that also tutors 3 minions? Seems pretty good to me, i can see this alredy played in midrange questline paladin full of cheap minions with such effects and consistent as well in many other decks. This can draw you strongman and you will play it for free the same turn is such op combination alredy.

You can build alredy a consistent strategy wich benefit this card : let's think for a midrange deck that plays animated broomstick + x good rush minion; strongman ( that you will play for free when you play this guy ) or wathever good taunt + taelan fordring or wathever good d-shield minion, dude this would be a hell of a card in that deck with such consistent midrange-ish playstile, for now i can think only at pally and lock but will see

7 mana worth in stats and you get to draw 3 minions for 1 mana essentially that are tutored. Has an immediate impact and can make a good trade when played. I think it will see play for sure in some decks.

Several current meta decks would love to have this now. In fact, it's hard to think of a meta where this wouldn't have been great. (Pre-rush doesn't count.)

A lot of decks will naturally be able to fulfill the divine shield requirement with Taelon Fordring, if they havent drawn him this late in the game. 
So Varian can tutor Taelon which tutors something else.

Paladins, having a lot of divine shield, would be able to fulfill the rush requirement with undrawn murloc crabriders, broomsticks, and not to forget Cariel Roame

This a great 8 drop for both shadow priest and seek guidance priest. Both play tonnes of minions. Or any deck with bladmaster samuro and like you said taelan fordring

Significantly better card than Siamat... if the deck is built to consistently give Varian divine shield and rush. That's a pretty significant caveat.

Omg yeah thats true. It makes sense though, he is the guy that stood his ground against a big demon thingy in legion.

Jokes aside love this card. Makes me want to pre-order being an Alliance fanboy. 

I also hope that his attacking line would be "Shalamayne claims another!"

Holy shit! Incredibly strong card... as king of Stormwind deserves.
