Anything applying a discount to cards is strong. The only negative thing about this is the 3 mana cost but that arguably hits Warlock the least of all classes as its not about tempo (and any less and the card would be broken). You get 2 sets of discounts, card draw is not an issue for Warlock, there is a lot to love here.
That's aged nicely, "3 mana cost is negative" :D
Now it's 5 mana cost xD
Sword of Justice and The Fist of Ra-den both have effects that trigger outside of those parameters you listed.
also Dragon Soul, Aluneth, Skull of Manari, Atiesh from Medivh minion, Overlords Whip, ...
You don't make your runed rod from mithril. The only common mineral used for the purpose is copper, then there is silver, gold, truesilver and arcanite. Everyone knows this!
could be intersting in Darkglare and good in Mecha Cthun warlock
That's one fancy Swizzle-stick
this will never be played unless there is an OTK that requires the mana cheat
I'm sure everyone will love that this can make Tickatus even easier to corrupt.
Or harder, if it triggers while Tickatus isn't in your hand, but your expensive cards are.
I assumed you'd try to play things in the right order. That's why I said "can" instead of "does."
You can always try, but since this card has an auto-trigger effect, you can't really ensure it. Unless of course you wait to play it until Tickatus is already in your hand, but that feels rather clunky.
OMG I never said it was the primary strategy of the deck. It was just an offhand comment.
So? Primary or not, feels clunky nonetheless.
So two chunks of discount for 3 mana is pretty good. Big tempo loss to start though.
So if you plot twist with a 8+ card hand does your whole hand instantly get the double discount?
It might proc in between, depending on the spaghetti code.
When has control warlock/handlock ever cared about tempo loss?
This is what I was wondering. Either the rod procs once after you draw the first cards and once again after you draw the second four. Meaning only the second four get double discount. Or the entire Plot Twist happens and then the rod procs twice giving every card the discount...we will have to wait and see.
Has there ever been a weapon with a trigger other than Battlecry, Deathrattle, or Attack? I can't think of one. If this is the first one, we have no way of knowing how it will interact.
MarkMcKz will love this
