Though the description implies that in some sense, i'm not sure they really implicitly programmed the card that way :) It might be programmed that the card is donated to whomever the opponent is.

Well, we need a card like faery dragon but for our heros. Something like "Can't be targeted by spells or heropowers; Your hero neither".  Give it a 1/5 body and make it a 5-cost epic. BOOM. Solved. Edit: or give it 0 attack, or either make it legendary. Still succesfully serves its purpose.

posted a message on New Warlock Card Revealed: Gnomeferatu

So what are you people scared of? The card alone isn't that scary. Destroying only one RANDOM card won't even be that significant most of the time and if it does destroy a important card, well that's just a pity but it won't happen that much to make this instant viable. If you use a non-combo deck then you will experience this effect as if it didn't do anything as long as you didn't draw your whole deck. Still care?

The real scary part of this card is when a warlock deck would be build around it to combo it with Brann and the Ancient Brewmasters. But even then the effect wouldn't compare to that of a mill Rogue of Druid since Warlock just lacks the tools like Vanish, Sap, Naturalize or Mulch. Be happy this card wasn't released as a neutral card, because yes then the shackles of the to mill beasts would have been unleashed!

Okay just for convenience i've build a deck around Gnomish Vampire. There's is no way you could fully build a deck around her so i build it like my mill druid with which i've been relatively successful in the past. I've have to admit i think the deck could pull of some nasty tricks haha but it really requires a lot of dedication and a whole lot of dust!! So don't expect to see this anywhere soon on ladder or casual.

    Gnomish Mill lock
Export to BBCode Export to Cockatrice Export to MarkDown Export to Html Clone this deck
    Minion (22) Ability (8)
    Loading Collection

Anyway, i think i like the card. It only prevents you from drawing 1 card. That effect is so insignificant that it still can be considered as fun and luck when it really destroys a good card!

Edit: Concerning the downvotes, I guess some people do get scared when someone builds a deck around this card and just hate to see mill decks in particular :P

I have this dragon hunter deck were i use The Curator to draw a one of my dragons and King Krush. I also contains Deathwing dragonlord, Chillmaw and Sylvana's for n'Zoth so this card might actually really fit into it!

Its attack doesn't look that good, but it's immediate effect does. It's a sort of 2x swipe with hero damage compensation and with the flexibility not having to attack immediately. The problem with Death's Bite was sometimes that the real threat was save behind a small taunt, but with this card you can probably kill it with the battlecry and then kill the bigger minion with your weapon.

posted a message on Dragons, Sulfuras, Reno, N'Zoth!!

Long message. Sorry about. It isn't only meant for you, but also for other people that might ask similar questions in the future so don't feel obliged to respond to it ;)

Having maybe 1 more card-draw could benefit this deck as i sometimes find myself in a situation that i don't draw those 2 cards. But those itself are already very good. Regarding the early game you're probably not even able to play 1 card a turn so there isn't the issue. The problem arises in the late game where the chance of having drawn those two is still pretty high but not 100%.

I tried Slam, as this deck would definitely not benefit from Shield Block, Battle Rage, or Commanding Shout over other cards. Slam is okay, but not great. You often combine that card with another card without being able to actually increase your hand size. So for that reason i rather switched it for a card that could make an efficient trade without the necessity of combining it with another one. I also tried Azure Drake. But without being able to make use of his spell damage the stats aren't that good and the deck is already pretty high on 5 drops. I feel he also wouldn't be a key card but more a deck filler. Loot Hoarder would probably perform decent. Any way my reasons for not choosing those cards aren't entirely because of their quality, but also because of the limited card slots as i also needed a lot of slots to support the whole dragon/taunt/n'zoth theme. I went over a lot of cards and just found that different cards would give more value.

Further Netherspite Historian and Stonehill Defender do a great job to search for specific answers that often can trade for 2 and which compensates for card draw. Also Nefarian can fill the hand, even though he's not that good in itself he serves his spot very well in this deck because of his body, synergy and the hand fill mechanic.

In general i don't agree that a control deck needs cheap card draw to maintain a stable hand size. You just need ways to compensate for it if you don't have it.

Combo: A deck that requires you to play multiple specific cards in one turn to get exponential tempo. Miracle rogue is a good general example but definitely not the only one. It also only utilizes gadgetsan auctioneer to get tempo swings while there are also decks that have multiple "bonus givers". Example.

I hate ranking. First i have winstreak from rank 2 to the last star in rank 1 and behold the final boss sends me back into a losestreak.. So the general rule is when you're 1 win away from legend you still need to play another 3000 before you are there. fuck this game. i could cry.

Will the wins we did since the 500 will be there too? i honestly have over 2k with every char (nearly 26k wins here) and hope they will be there too. When the 500 wins were added to the game, we all started at 0/500, eventho several of us had a few chars to lvl 60 and were legends :(

     26 k wins,.....thats kinda insane tbh.
Explains the whole hearthpwn dedication. Look at his trophies and his complete golden collection. damn LiveMorph must be covered in b*tches.

Yes your experience is almost similar to mine, but not quite. I'll try my best to advise you but keep in mind that the deck isn't really meant for ranking up but just for having a good time :)

    • Actually i haven't really met that many quest rogues while playing this deck. But i think this deck loses by nature because it's just very slow. I heard that other taunt warriors can do it but that's because they focus on making the quest their only win-condition while this deck doesn't. They also use Dirty Rat as a counter to get their Brewmaster and Gadgetzan Ferryman so they can't finish their quest, but to be honest in other match-ups i'm a bit scared to use him. I did try him for a few matches but just never was in a situation where i could play him and simultaneously remove the potential threat.
    • Mill Rogue.. Actually i don't see this as a valid match-up :) Mill rogue loses to everything with tempo and wins against anything slow. So it's more a gimmick deck for most people than that it is a competitive one. I maybe encounter 1 out of 60 matches when playing ranked. I don't know if you play ranked but if you do, maybe my view is bit distorted compared to yours because i play the deck at rank 5 where the meta is different compared to rank 10 and above (sorry if i assumed your rank :P). I also didn't use the deck to get to that rank so i'm not completely aware of the hardships that arise up there. I use this one if you're interested.
    • Token druid is indeed annoying but it often reallly comes down to your mulligan. I think you already know that the first few turns are everything in this match-up. I've managed to beat them but you really need all the aggro tools in the deck to do it and that requires a bit of luck, sad to say :/
    • Deathrattle priest is the only one i can consistently win from, i actually win from almost all priest decks as long as they don't use Entomb on Sylvanas. I get that N'Zoth is a hard and sticky problem but most of the time i'm already ahead on the board so my side can pretty much deal with their side without brawl.Chillmaw, Primordial Drake, King Mosh and Sleep with the Fishes can usually deal with the aftermath and completely clear the board. Maybe try to hold on combos like Whirlwind+King Mosh/Sleep with the Fishes or Primordial Drake+Sleep with the Fishes.

And about the Highlander nature of this deck, well it's also more of an excuse the be able to use a lot of cool cards together :P My initial idea of this deck was of course without Reno. Can we have moment of silence when for the time before Reno when control didn't need such a tool? Haha. Anyway i noticed that over dedicating on taunts and pairs didn't really work so i was already only running 1 of some of them. I also noticed Twilight Guardian didn't count towards the quest while i also initially was running 2 of them. Still without that card the dragon theme is a lot weaker but running 2 is just a missed opportunity to finish the quest. I assume you can guess what i'm trying to say. My point is, if you think the highlander build is only negative, try to build one that doesn't use Reno and let me know what your experience is with that one :)
