Intro
As a Fire Plume's Heart enthusiast i made a taunt warrior that exploits the power of the Wild format. There's this strong synergy between taunts and dragons where cards like Chillmaw, Wrathion, Primordial Drake and The Curator act like a bridge between the two themes and make it a very natural and powerful combination. Add your precious wild flavored Reno Jackson and N'Zoth, the Corruptor and you end up with a kick-ass deck!

To be honest this deck isn't really that competitive. I have a win rate of 50% at rank 5 (that's where i test my decks) so i'm not recommending this to rank up. I do want to encourage you guys to try this spin on taunt warrior and play it in casual or ranked, whatever floats your boat. It's guaranteed fun deck! It can be pretty aggressive while still being able to complete the warrior quest at the same time the normal quest warrior could do. In a match between the two this one wins because it dominates in the late game, even if your opponent finishes his quest before you do.
Check this crazy battle against Triple kazakus mage on rank 5
Here's the deck i ranked up with (Aggro lightwarden priest)
A message to you
I would really love to hear your feedback people! Maybe this deck can be made competitive but i just don't know how yet. I do NOT main warrior so my lack of experience might limit its potential. So let me hear what you think, and perhaps if you like the deck you would do me a huge favor by pressing the +upvote button! Thanks ;)
If you like this deck you might also like the rogue version!
Possible changes
If you would change Antique Healbot for Sleep with the Fishes and Unstable Ghoul for Whirlwind/Revenge you would be able to do some serious combos with King Mosh and Primordial Drake. I haven't tested it yet because i haven't crafted Sleep with the Fishes yet.
Swapping Fool's Bane for Doomsayer also works pretty well against aggro where Fool's Bane serves better against mid-range/control.
So the only card draw cars in you're deck cost 6 & 7... how does this deck work without some cheap card draw?
Long message. Sorry about. It isn't only meant for you, but also for other people that might ask similar questions in the future so don't feel obliged to respond to it ;)
Having maybe 1 more card-draw could benefit this deck as i sometimes find myself in a situation that i don't draw those 2 cards. But those itself are already very good. Regarding the early game you're probably not even able to play 1 card a turn so there isn't the issue. The problem arises in the late game where the chance of having drawn those two is still pretty high but not 100%.
I tried Slam, as this deck would definitely not benefit from Shield Block, Battle Rage, or Commanding Shout over other cards. Slam is okay, but not great. You often combine that card with another card without being able to actually increase your hand size. So for that reason i rather switched it for a card that could make an efficient trade without the necessity of combining it with another one. I also tried Azure Drake. But without being able to make use of his spell damage the stats aren't that good and the deck is already pretty high on 5 drops. I feel he also wouldn't be a key card but more a deck filler. Loot Hoarder would probably perform decent. Any way my reasons for not choosing those cards aren't entirely because of their quality, but also because of the limited card slots as i also needed a lot of slots to support the whole dragon/taunt/n'zoth theme. I went over a lot of cards and just found that different cards would give more value.
Further Netherspite Historian and Stonehill Defender do a great job to search for specific answers that often can trade for 2 and which compensates for card draw. Also Nefarian can fill the hand, even though he's not that good in itself he serves his spot very well in this deck because of his body, synergy and the hand fill mechanic.
In general i don't agree that a control deck needs cheap card draw to maintain a stable hand size. You just need ways to compensate for it if you don't have it.
Thank you for the detailed explanation :)
currently working on a somewhat similar list, so your notes will come in handy! ~
This deck is incredible, unfortunately I don't have so much dust.
Yes.. it's indeed expensive.. I almost feel like a dirty pay2win player :P anyway when you have at least some of the key cards i could help you create a similar deck.
Really glad you went through all this time and effort to make this unique exciting deck! I look forward to making the list and trying it out. :D
Thank you :) That's really nice of you to say. I hope you have fun with it!
After several matches, here is my current feedback.
Having Reno in the deck has certainly helped me out against Aggro as expected (while also allowing for more mileage to be squeezed from Fool's Bane and Gorehowl against slower matchups), but currently, my four worst (and semi-common) matchups are...
Quest Rogue (really wish I could find room for a second Brawl, but that would ruin the Highlander nature of the deck),
Mill Rogue (couldn't empty my hand fast enough to mitigate the incoming Coldlight Oracles),
Token Druid (they're rather annoyingly resilient once they manage to land a Soul of the Forest onto their early minions),
and Deathrattle Priest (can't hope to survive against any Nzoth-centered deck with only one Brawl, even if we happen to running a Nzoth of our own).
Is my feedback consistent with your own experiences so far?
Yes your experience is almost similar to mine, but not quite. I'll try my best to advise you but keep in mind that the deck isn't really meant for ranking up but just for having a good time :)
And about the Highlander nature of this deck, well it's also more of an excuse the be able to use a lot of cool cards together :P My initial idea of this deck was of course without Reno. Can we have moment of silence when for the time before Reno when control didn't need such a tool? Haha. Anyway i noticed that over dedicating on taunts and pairs didn't really work so i was already only running 1 of some of them. I also noticed Twilight Guardian didn't count towards the quest while i also initially was running 2 of them. Still without that card the dragon theme is a lot weaker but running 2 is just a missed opportunity to finish the quest. I assume you can guess what i'm trying to say. My point is, if you think the highlander build is only negative, try to build one that doesn't use Reno and let me know what your experience is with that one :)
